[DEV] A simple viewer for TikTok links Posted: 30 Apr 2021 11:44 AM PDT I wrote a free simple viewer for TikTok links -- TokViewer! I often get sent links to TikTok videos like https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeXFW9yE/ I don't want to install the TikTok app and I don't want to pollute my browser history with TikTok, so what I used to do was open an incognito tab for each link an paste the URL in. This was annoying and slow, so I wrote a small app that can "handle" TikTok links by way of opening them in an isolated webview (basically incognito). This way I only have to click on the link when it's sent to me and the video is played without any fuss. As a bonus it also enforces the correct aspect ratio for TikTok videos (9:16) so the video isn't cropped on non-16:9 devices and injects a touch of Javascript to remove the obnoxious autoplaying recommended video carousel after the video finishes. Installing the app doesn't put anything in your launcher; it's just a handler for https://vm.tiktok.com links. You can't open TokViewer without a vm.tiktok.com link. When you click on such a link in another app you should be prompted to choose whether to use your browser or TokViewer. If you ever choose "always open in browser" you'll stop seeing these prompts and you'll have to go into app settings and manually assign TokViewer to be the default handler for vm.tiktok.com links if you want to use it again. Note that this isn't a replacement for the full TikTok app; it's just for viewing individual TikTok posts that are sent to you and doesn't support posting your own videos or signing in. Is there any solution of Tachiyomi online backup? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 10:10 AM PDT I have been using Tachiyomi for quite a while. The biggest downside I am facing is there is no online account backup. The solutions they provide are Tracking and Offline backup. The problem with the tracking is I have to put tracking point for every manga which is now almost impossible because of the number of mangas I have read. Moreover it is one sided backup. So if the app is uninstalled I can't get them from the tracker site. The offline backup is good but the thing is if my device is lost then GG! (Maybe auto online backup. But is there any option like this in GDrive. I don't usually use other online storage service.)So... any advice for the problem. [link] [comments] |

All my apps keep stopping - I need help Posted: 30 Apr 2021 09:14 AM PDT Hei everyone, For the past two days, my phone (Samsung S10) has become basically unusable and no matter how many times I restart it or delete android webview updates, my apps keep crashing after about 40-50 seconds of use. Anyone have any suggestions? :( I have everything up to date regarding its firmware and whatnot E: Apparently Chrome is working fine, but everything else is fucked [link] [comments] |

Best SMS/MMS on pc messenger with desktop application? Posted: 29 Apr 2021 09:12 PM PDT I've been looking around for applications that allow me to text friends on my Windows PC via a desktop application, and I've been having a hard time finding one that I like. I'm using Google Messages, which seems ok, but as said I'd prefer something on my desktop (I found this, but not sure if it's safe and/or good as I can't find any information about it). Other than that, I've tried. -Your Phone (Buggy and laggy as hell, although good for photos) -Pushbullet (reached the limit quickly and its been freezing lately) -Join (terrible UI for texting and seemed more for file sharing) I've heard of others like MightyText and Easyjoin, but with so many mixed reviews and options, I wanted to see what others recommend as worthwhile to try. As you can tell from the Pushbullet one, I'm not interested in a subscription, but I might be up for a one time fee depending on how pricey it is. Notification support would be a plus as well. Is there a way to more efficiently edit videos capture in the slow-motion setting? Galaxy S20 Posted: 30 Apr 2021 08:25 AM PDT The slow-motion video editor is absolutely horrid. It's ideal for skate videos because the quality and sound of the slow-mo effect is miles above anything else I use, but if the video is long because it takes several minutes to get the right shot, it's SO difficult to edit. Especially because the parts I want slowed down are like .3 seconds long. Is there an app or something that can record video and add slow-mo in a quality that is equal to the slow-mo setting on this phone? I've tried motion ninja, kinestudio, capcut.. sure they all add slow-mo just fine, but the quality is significantly worse than the native slow-mo app on the phone, which is unfortunately impossible to use with long clips. First world problems, eh? Thank you. If anyone has a solution, I will be eternally grateful. [link] [comments] |

App with Multiple Custom Reminders? Posted: 29 Apr 2021 06:13 PM PDT Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can give me some recommendations for reminder apps that allow you to set multiple custom reminders for each task? I was using Todoist and it was absolutely perfect, then they made reminders a pro feature so I've had to abandon it. Any help is much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
App to log a personal set of questions daily Posted: 30 Apr 2021 02:09 AM PDT Hi Reddit, I am looking for an app to answer a few simple questions every day that I have defined for myself. And makes it easy to either export or look back at these answers once in a while. Does anyone have a tip? As I can only find journal/diary style apps, these are always blank or ask insane amounts of money to put in these questions as premium functionality THNX a lot! [link] [comments] |

Excel/Sheets alternative to save locally? Posted: 29 Apr 2021 06:41 PM PDT The common spreadsheet apps are designed around the concept that there can't possibly be a use for a spreadsheet outside the range of mobile service. I need an app that by default saves locally. Ideally it would also backup to the cloud, but that is of secondary concern. What do you recommend? [link] [comments] |
