Got a OnePlus Nord N100, how long does it usually take for custom ROMs to start appearing?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 06:59 PM PST

Hey! I've been using Android ever since my Dad got the HTC Inspire in 2011, and I began to get curious about the whole modding and custom ROM thing last year, especially with all the modding happening on the Nintendo Switch. So I got a Nord N100, after hearing that OnePlus has a really good track record of enabling developers to actually use their phones how they want.

I understand development takes time and whatnot, but I'm just curious: is there any way to know what's coming, if anything? I'm trying not to sound entitled here but I'm no developer. I was kind of hoping to get LineageOS or even Pixel Experience but the XDA forums are a ghost town, and the internet gives me a Magisk root method and that's about it.

TL;DR I have a OnePlus Nord N100, I'm OOTL on Custom ROMs for it, and the XDA forums are a ghost town. Am I too early to the party or is there something I'm missing?

4 weeks later, I am totally accustomed to 6.5" FHD+ Pentile OLED as opposed to QHD+.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PST

So I switched to a 7T a month ago, and at first I thought the text wasn't sharp enough, especially night mode white/gray text on black. It looked fuzzy compared to 6.5" 1080p LCD or 1440p Pentile OLED.

After a month, I am just about totally used to 6.5" FHD+ Pentile OLED and the display seems pretty much gorgeous.

Funny how subjective our senses can be.

OnePlus 8 Unlocked - Verizon WiFi Calling

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 04:35 PM PST

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I just purchased a OnePlus 8 direct from OnePlus.

Everything is working great except for WiFi calling. WiFi calling was enabled on my previous iPhone without issue.

When I'm at my house, where I have no Verizon service I can't do anything now.

HOWEVER -- Odd.... Even in airplane mode with WiFi turned on, I can send and receive text messages... like they are going over WiFi, but phone calls will not place (with airplane mode on or off) and just tells me I need service -- so it's like I'm 50% there.

OnePlus says it just won't work with Verizon, which is bizarre since Verizon now sells this phone.

Am I screwed trying to use this phone with WiFi calling or is there a work around? I tried the *#800# and while WiFi Calling is enabled in there, it still doesn't work.

    Transfer help

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 05:05 PM PST

Hello all. I recently bought a used OP7 Pro to replace one that had a screen that was inoperable. The phone will turn on but I cannot use any of its functions outside of the profile switcher.

I am struggling to find a way to transfer the data from the old one to the new one because all options require me to interact with the malfunctioning device. So OP Switch isn't feasible or anything like that.

What is the best way to go about this? I tried connecting the two with a male-to-male USB-C cord but nothing seemed to happen. I think the only option I have is to pull the data onto a computer from the old one and transfer to the new, but wanted to know if there was something I am missing.

    Oneplus 8 on Verizon

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 04:40 PM PST

I currently have a 7t that suffers from network connection problems around congested, city areas (on AT&T). Has anyone experienced the same problem with the 8 verizon unlocked version on Verizon? I just don't want to switch phones and carriers to have the same problem. Thanks for any input.

Block unknown callers -- is there a clean way make this happen??

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 04:21 PM PST

Hi! I have a 6T. I want to send all incoming calls that are not in my contacts list to voicemail. (It's 2021, and it seems like this feature should have existed 25 years ago, but apparently you can't do this in OxygenOS?)

I have read the advice to use the Google Contacts apps with "block unknown callers" but this has no effect, unfortunately: unknown callers come right through.

There is a zoo of apps that claim to do this or related things, but I can't decide which to use -- anyone have a preference? Note that I do not simply want to reject the calls if that means that they can't leave a voicemail. I also don't want the phone to do anything whatsoever when these calls come in: not ring briefly, not alert, no notifications, etc.

I installed "CallApp" but it seemed like kind of a mess and wanted permissions for files/photos/etc so I uninstalled it (I would install again if it's recommended for this.)

I installed "Call Blocker" but it's only two available block modes are "reject call" and "reject call - busy tone, or send to the voicemail", which makes no sense and is not very encouraging -- does the second option mean they will or won't be sent to voicemail? Or only if voicemail is not configured or something?

It's maddening how difficult this is. Is there any hope? :-)

I'd love a free app but if I have to shell out a couple bucks I can deal with that.

    Thanks for any leads!

    Bullets 2 Wireless stopped working

    Posted: 01 Mar 2021 09:14 PM PST

    Hi all,

I've had a fair few Oneplus phones, ever since my friend got his hands on a Oneplus One, I started off with the OnePlus 2 and continued with regularly updating to a newer model. I'm currently on a Oneplus 7T, which I ordered with a set of Bullets 2 Wireless headphones. They have just today stopped working all of a sudden. I've been using them with no problems for the last 4 months, and the 8 months prior to that they weren't used at all, just kept charged and in the red soft shell case.

I've tried all the troubleshooting, and no luck. After googling the issue, I've found that it's somewhat of a common issue, with a lot of people having an identical problem to mine.

I've contacted the OnePlus Support however I believe that due to the age they will not be bothered, atleast from the experiences I read from others trying to rectify this issue with Support.

I'm at the point now where I'm considering upgrading my phone and was waiting for an announcement for their latest model, but I'm seriously rethinking my choice now. If I were to have an issue with my phone, much more expensive that the headphones, could I face the same issue?

I've never had a problem with my OnePlus phones, except I've noticed the battery on my 7T has depleted a fair amount since purchase and I'm struggling to get full days out of it even with normal use (barely any multimedia use, no games).

Can anyone else share experiences and their thoughts on this topic?

    Thanks in advance

    Reduced battery life after update

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 07:57 AM PST

    Hi all,

I got my first OnePlus in January, choosing the OnePlus Nord, and I have been incredibly satisfied with it. It has surpassed my expectations.

However, I have noticed since the most recent update, the battery life has been reduced. It used to be 25 hours between full charges and now it's around 18 hours. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Spilt some lentil soup on my regular (IN) OP8

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 04:35 AM PST

Spilt some( Say 2-3 plastic soda cap worth ) thin lentil soup on my OP8. It was in the sandstone case and covered the top 3/4th of the screen . I can see some yellowing inside the top speaker grill but the botoom ports are fine as far as i can see. Would there be yellow stuff inside the charging port if somethitg had gone in?as i cant see anything down there. The phone seems fine , should i worry ?And how do I clean the speaker grill?

7 Pro not supported by ATT for not having 4g?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 02:38 PM PST

I'm switching from a pixel 2 xl. I called ATT to switch my SIM over and I'm told they the 7 Pro does not have 4g and therefore isn't supported. Did I get the wrong version of this phone or something? I can still return it, but I'd hate to buy another version only to have ATT reject it again. Do they have a compatibility list so I can avoid this horseshit? My wife's hasn't even arrived yet and now I'm already pissed trying to figure out what to do with these potentially useless devices. I tried switching over my pixel 2 xl sim, but that's all I have to go off of...

    Oneplus 6t disabling gaming mode?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 05:27 AM PST

Can you disable gaming mode permanently? It's super annoying. I don't mind notifications while gaming. And most games does not need then optimization. So anyone have a know how? If possible.

Also, the messenger bubbles disappear every time I open settings. That's also quite annoying. Fix for that maybe? Thank you for your timer.

Ditched my Pixel 4XL For the 8T. Surprisingly good.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:24 AM PST

I thought life couldn't get better when I got my 4XL until it's barrage of hardware issues and RMAs forced me to get a new device. I've been skeptical about oneplus even though the reviews and specs seemed oddly good for a relatively unknown brand here.

So far it's exceeded my expectations on performance but I know like with all devices there are things only long time owners know. Anything I should look out for or do before I load it up? Thanks in advance.

    Oneplus 9 Wifi 6E?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 11:33 AM PST

Apparently the Samsung S21 Ultra is the only Wifi6E phone out right now, thanks to the Broadcomm BCM4389 modem. What do you think the chances are that the Oneplus 9 will support Wifi 6E? The current 8/8Pro support Wifi 6, so it would be an appropriate generational improvement.

    Screen flickering on lockscreen?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 05:16 AM PST

I have my OP6T running on 10.3.8. The screen flickers and doesn't unlock when I use finger print to unlock. Every time this happens, I have to restart my phone in order to get the finger print scanner working. I've had this issue only after this recent update. Any of you facing this issue? If there's a fix, please do let me know. Thanks in advance.

Question: Can you use call recording with TrueCaller?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:34 AM PST

I generally love using TrueCaller to screen falls on my OnePlus 8. However using TrueCaller dialler means the call recording icon doesn't appear. Is there a way to use this call recording with TrueCaller?

Buying a used 6T in 2021, worth it? It's in good exterior shape, but the battery life shows at 81%

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:27 AM PST

So, is buying a 6T 8gb/128 still a good idea? It's just lightly used, but the battery health is at 81%. It would cost like 250€ from Amazon wearhouse deals. I'm asking cause while I know it's an older model, I'd like to keep it for another couple years. I'm coming from a moto z, that has pretty bad battery life right now, less than 2h sot, but it's still fairly snappy (the OP feels a lot better though)

Problem with my Oneplus 8 Camera

    Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:05 AM PST

    Hello.

I have a problem with my Oneplus 8 camera. I have a Oneplus 5T and upgraded to a Oneplus 8 now. Both phones in hand, I was testing the camera around.

THE PROBLEM Oneplus 5T takes sharper and more detailed pictures of stuff that's close. Oneplus 5T takes pictures with a way better fidelity (close to reality) color.

Both are Auto mode and both are up to date.

    ONEPLUS 5T: https://i.ibb.co/f8ZBFv3/ONEPLUS5-T.jpg

    ONEPLUS 8: https://i.ibb.co/ZzNZBNs/oneplus8.jpg

I can't even reproduce real life colors adjusting White Balance in Pro mode in the Oneplus 8, whilst Oneplus 5T has it very very very close to reality just in Auto mode.
