I don't do a lot of surfing on my phone, so I decided to keep LastPass on my computer, and get a new FREE password app for my phone. I just need something very basic, just to sign in securely to a very few sites. I heard Dashlane's free version is good. Anyone else have other recommendations? Also, is there a Gmail notifier app for Android that signs you in automatically? I use mostly Chrome and Firefox browsers on my phone. TIA [link] [comments]  |

There are lots of parental control apps out there, but they all seem to have a maximum time limit per day on the phone or on selected apps. That's not what I need, I need one that just won't allow continuous usage, for example after 60 mins of continued usage the screen will lock for 10 min. | LG Wing in dire need of game pad for second screen. Posted: 02 Mar 2021 10:05 PM PST The LG Wing has potential to be great for phone games and emulators. But for some reason I can't find any game pad apps that effect the main screen. I know it must be possible to make, because there are mouse programs for the second screen that work on the main screen. I'm tempted to try to make one myself, but I have only played with Python and Javascript. How would I even start to find the information to make something like that? | Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:21 AM PST i dont have a samsung phone, so no "secure folder". i use a pixel 4a5g, and interested in running an app 'privately" i am aware of an app called Island, i have installed it.. but it required device encryption, and i didnt really want to do that. i see that there are instructions to install manually, without device encryption, but also a disclaimer about how the app may not run well if the device isnt encrypted. when i had island installed and my phone would start up i would have to put in my pin, then that screen would go away, and my pin screen would show again, with pin # already filled in, that would go away and be at a lock screen, that i would then have to input my pin into again to use the device. im looking to avoid this "chunkiness".. im not sure why my pin needs to be put in 3 times after a reboot. basically, my question is, do all these sandobx/vm type apps require encryption of the device? if so, can anyone explain why? if not, what are some other apps that work like island? has anyone used island, and installed it manually, without encrypting their device? is it the device encryption that is requiring all these pin entries? maybe just turning on work profiles did this? is there no way to shut off lock for work profile? | App for hands-free quick alarm, or, with variable alarm duration Posted: 03 Mar 2021 06:19 AM PST I am seeking an alarm app (or native app setting) that can be set to turn off automatically after 5s, with no need to touch the phone in any way to turn it off. I have to keep my phone on the other side of the room, but I need an alarm to alert me that it is whatever time. I can't cross the room to turn it off, and a quick alarm tone would be sufficient.
