Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:05 PM PST Samsung Galaxy S10, Current version of Android, no root I've tried clearing the cache/data, force stopping, removing all of my Google accounts, restarting, and literally every other solution I've seen on the web and in YouTube videos. I don't get the problem on all pages and can update apps just fine, but it only appears in my Subscriptions tab. I can't access it period. I REALLY don't want to have to factory reset my phone, but I haven't found a single method that has fixed this problem. Does anyone have any fixes here that aren't the common ones? | Low quality VoIP and video chats with unlocked phone on T-Mobile Posted: 04 Feb 2021 08:31 PM PST It's an unlocked Moto One Zoom in use with T-mobile. Motos website shows the device fully supported by T-mobile but all the VoIP calls and video chats seem like they're being bandwidth capped. The quality never seems to move up past some really low 240p-360p level quality, and I'm unsure what the issue could be. It wasn't a problem with the Motorola Z2 Force or the Moto X Pure Edition on the same network. And wifi or mobile service doesn't matter. The same limitation occurs. Lately, some of my apps have been consuming lots of packet data in background. However, I can find no way to determine which apps are hogging the Internet because the data tracker only shows Orbot's name. | SMS database 30gb now after phone upgrade Posted: 04 Feb 2021 07:25 PM PST My note 9 had a 11gb sms database with mms.(created a backup with sms back and restore tool) I did the Samsung migration to my note 10 plus last year.. It kept failing, and finally did it.. But created a 30gb sms database and lost all the mms from the note 9??.. I've had to keep my old phone around to check old mms photos. Fast forward a year, I'd like to upgrade to a new phone from the note 10, my S21 ultra. But I'm worried this migration will fail. I'd also like my old mms photos merged back into this database. Or is there a way to take note 9 dB. Merge with only new msgs from note 10 dB. And create a new working dB. Then try to import that into my S21 ultra? I'm trying to do this before I start introducing a 3rd dataset off the S21 ultra when I start using it. [link] [comments]  |
| Stock Android Timer counting down well below where it's supposed to Posted: 04 Feb 2021 07:06 PM PST I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but in the clock app that came with both my Moto E6 and my Moto G7 Optimo, at random, the timer will continue to count down into the negatives without going off at all. At first I thought this was due to battery saver since in the case of my G7 Optimo, it only happened while the phone was in battery saver mode (around 30% battery left) but on my Moto E6 today, it started counting down into the negatives without going off despite the fact that battery saver was not on, and the battery is at 50%. Does anyone happen to know why this happens or of a possible fix? The android version on my Moto E6 is Android 9, and the android version on my G7 Optimo is Android 10. Any ideas? | Is it possible to open a local wifi network without internet? Posted: 04 Feb 2021 07:05 PM PST I have a huawei p30 and would like to create a network on my phone when I dont have any internet, neither wifi nor 4g. I would like to use it to create the local network, connect my iphone with this local network and use my phone as a upnp server my ipad can access - ideally via playerxtreme. When both devices are in the same network it works as a charme, but i would like to "stream" videos from my phone to my ipad also for example in airplanes or generally on the road. Thx! | Galaxy S8+ Flashing Screen Issues Posted: 04 Feb 2021 05:09 PM PST So for a few weeks, I've noticed my phone's screen (Samsung Galaxy S8+) lightly flickering when in really low brightness and I didn't pay it any mind, until today. When I plugged my charger in, it flashed white. I then tried to check what's going on and I noticed whenever I press the power button it would just flash white. I think it's definitely a hardware issue. I found another Reddit Post from 2 years ago with the same exact problem, screen not functional and only flashes white when the power button is pressed. I plan to use the phone mainly as a backup MP3 and install F-droid apk and maybe a few other apks that are supported from a SIM. I want to Remove the bloatware and GAPPS from this phone. | Samsung Secure Folder Data Transfer Posted: 04 Feb 2021 02:12 PM PST I have a Samsung Note with a lot of files/folders/docs in the Secure Folder app. I want to move all the data out of the Secure Folder and transfer it all at once. However, if I move it out of the folder it will be merged with all the other data on the phone. | Can anyone help with connecting a Note 10 to a Mac, please... Posted: 04 Feb 2021 02:06 PM PST If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. I used to use Android File Transfer to move files between my Note 10 and Macbook. I tried to find a better alternative - OpenMTP & Handshaker - and neither recognised that my phone was connected. I tried Dex, which worked once. It recently updated itself, and when I tried to open it I was told that it could not be opened unless I update my Mac. Unfortunately my Macbook Pro will no longer update because it's too old... (late 2012) So I went back to Android File Transfer, and now that won't recognise my phone. I used to recall getting a "permission" notification when I connected a USB cable, giving permission for the device to read phone data, or something to that effect. I no longer get this, although I do get the option to select what I want the phone to do - file transfer / MIDI / charge only, etc. The computer knows there's something plugged in, as OpenMTP would pop up with a message saying "an error occured while setting up the phone" but the Note just isn't giving permission. For reference, I only had one program installed at a time, rebooted after each new one installed / previous one uninstalled. Tried my wifes Pixel 3 which has never been plugged in to my Mac, and it just appeared straight away in both AFT and OpenMTP. Any help appreciated with this, I'm losing my mind over it! Samsung S10, I keep getting "Connected Without Internet" Posted: 04 Feb 2021 10:15 AM PST Then I have to "masturbate" my phone...forget network, reset network settings, turn the wifi router on and off, turn airplane mode on and off, check the web for other tips, type my password in over and over. The frustrating thing is, the solution eventually comes, but never the same way, that's why I call it masturbating, instead of troubleshooting. I have to do this 10 times a day. | Posted: 04 Feb 2021 12:35 PM PST I mean for a normal android handset that's on & active (cellularly, not actively in-call :P ) I hate that, to get to make a call, I have to turn-on the screen and swipe-away a screen before I can enter my password (well, a swipe-sequence 'password') I've gone through every setting trying to find some OEM Setting that'd make it so there's just ONE screen "in between" pressing Power and seeing my homescreen (that 1 screen being the password or swipe-password screen) and there are none, they only offer control over HOW that first screen(notifications-screen) is displayed IE you can have it show data or not but you still have to endure that screen before you can "get into" your phone's password&homescreen! Thanks a ton, am guessing there's a good 50/50 there's some app or trick for this, at same time I understand if it's "core OS stuff" that is either unchangeable or impractical to change! But, barring that, I realllly wanna get that first screen off my phone I never ever look at my notifications there and have to swipe-away that screen dozens of times daily for no reason besides my Settings not having a way to turn-off the "pre-password notifications page" >:( Thanks a ton for any&all insight on this one!! :D [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 04 Feb 2021 11:33 AM PST Viasat TV app. This app. is installed on my note10+ but I am not having the "open" option in Playstore - I cannot open the app? I tried to uninstall it, removed it from the library and tried reinstalling it from Playstore. What happened was that the removed app. was installed within a split second with no indication of a installation going on. And the result, nothing just returned to my initial problem not being able to open the app. I then uninstalled the app again, restarted and downloaded Viasat.apk from 5 different apk providers and tried installing that way around. No luck either. I just got a message saying "app was not installed". Now I have given up. One app. not working and it looks like I need to factory reset. That is so random that I need to ask for a piece of advice. [link] [comments]  |
