MIUI native apps were used y me to make phone calls, contact list, SMS and email client. Now I have a Redmi8 which has recently updated to MIUI12. So... what's the deal? Development for MIUI apps is still releasing new versions but I can't launch them or even install some of them. Using the Google dialer is cumpolsory. Why...? Is downgrading to MIUI10 a valid option? | Redmi k30i 5G MI AI Problems!!! Posted: 19 Jan 2021 08:02 PM PST I changed the default ai app from MI AI to Google Assistant. But it keeps changing the default ai application. Everytime I try to open the assistant app, it shows a pop up that says ' Set Google as the default assist app to access your assistant '. But I already had changed the default ai app. It happens everytime I close the google tab or restart the device. My device isn't rooted and is in China Rom. What should I do now to permanently keep Google Assistant as the default ai app and disable Mi Ai. I'm a non-chinese and I need an assistant badly. I can't set mi ai as the default ai app cause it's odd to hear Chinese all the time and I can't even search without using Chinese. What can I do now? [link] [comments]  | ||
| I have a really strange backup problem and would really need some help Posted: 19 Jan 2021 01:43 PM PST Ok so about a month back i deleted around 20 snapchat videos that were saved on my phone (I have a redmi Note 8 pro) because I thought they were saved on my snapchat aswell so they had no use on my phone storage. Well after i deleted them i realized that they had not been in fact saved on my snapchat. Luckly they were all still in my trash bin and i had the option to restore them. And so i did. The only problem is, now i can't actually view them and they don't actually have a thumbnail, it only shows me that it is a video. When i want to view the vid, it pops a message that says "download video" but when i press it, it doesn't do anything except that it says that xiaomi cloud is not synced (which actually is synced). I even paid for premium xiaomi membership because i thought it will help with something but it didn't. Does anyone have an answer or can give me a hint on what to do? It will be greatly appreciated! Also when i press to view details for the videos, they all seem to have the right size (around 4 to 20mb depending on length). [link] [comments]  | ||

Plus, since updating to MIUI 12, the battery life is really absymal. I am torn between Evolution X, that is the most downloaded custom ROM for the Mi 9T Pro or the lastest Xiaomi.EU (based on Android 11 and MIUI 12.5). If any of you has any first hand experience with both ROMs, could you give me a quick review in terms of stability, battery life if there are major bugs in either ROM at the moment? Thanks! | Mi 9 Lite DND mode completely ruined after last update Posted: 19 Jan 2021 12:42 PM PST I'm not sure if it's the latest update that caused this but dnd mode is almost completely ruined, especially by evil WhatsApp. I can't find any setting about overriding dnd mode and now whatever i do, like decreasing volume to 0, that whatsapp will always make sound in dnd. some other apps do it as well. I am hoping for a good discussion. I've done a hard reset and installed all updates. Right now I am wondering why so much space is being occupied... Are 21.3 GB for a fresh newly set operational system normal? The only apps I've installed are Outlook and Bertha (gasoline prices)... nothing else! No photos, no videos, no music... nothing. 15,59 GB for SYSTEM and 3,52 GB for "other" / "miscellaneous" ("Andere").... WTF!? What is this? Is this normal? Isn't that somewhat excessive? My Honor 5X did have 16GB of internal storage capacity and it was absolutely sufficient for housing the OS, two dozens apps, navigation maps, a few hundred photos and more... I found that Poco X3 NFC suits for me in almost all of its features, except for the lack of 5G. This network is available in my area and I'm really keen to try it. I found that Mi10i or RN9P5G would be the best options for me, but they are only available in India and China respectively. I live in Australia and it's hard to buy a Mi 10i (I'm not considering RN9P5G right now because it has only CN version). In fact I'm not in a hurry to upgrade, but would like to do that asap. | Posted: 19 Jan 2021 11:19 AM PST Well, this is the first time that it's happen to me. I have Redmi Note 9s phone with Miui 12 EU version, but I have problems with the SIM card. My phone is having problems reading the SIM card, when I put the SIM card in phone, it read the sim but in minutes after it doesn't have service (or signal). For there phone will be able to read my SIM card I need using the mobile data, but by this way my phone read sim about 15 minutes. In the moment that I connect my phone to Wifi, the SIM card will be without service. I think the sim lector is the problem, but I want to try another alternatives before carry it to thechnical service. [link] [comments]  | ||
