Petition for mobile phone MI A3 Posted: 01 Jan 2021 08:47 AM PST Yesterday, December 31, 2021, the Xiaomi company with an update to Android 11 blocked thousands of MI A3 series phones. Unfortunately for some mistake, this update made the entire phone unusable. To date there is no system to unlock it and we find ourselves without a mobile phone until the company in question reopens after the Christmas holidays. So for a damn update we find ourselves with the cell phone unusable for at least two weeks. I ask all MI A3 users to sign this petition to raise xiaomi awareness at least in the refund or replacement process. http://chng.it/RZPwBRZC7C [link] [comments]
Setting notifications and permissions is incredibly annoying on MIUI Posted: 01 Jan 2021 09:09 AM PST So I have many apps installed on my MIUI 12 phone and it annoys me when I need to turn on "Lock screen notifications", "Floating notifications" and "Notification badges" for every single app individually, why are they not on by default? Also same thing goes for permissions like "Home screen shortcuts" and "Display pop up windows while running in the background", like these permissions could be asked from the user when the app is trying to do such actions. All applications can send notifications by default when they're installed but none of those notification features are enabled by default which makes no sense. [link] [comments]

Redmi Note 9 Pro (joyeuse) LDAC support? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 04:38 PM PST Hey, I'm running the latest xiaomi.eu rom for my device, and own the True Wireless 2s earphones. According to some research I made, the headphones support SBC, AAC and LDAC (not sure about AptX). Also according to Bluetooth Check, the handset itself only supports SBC, yet I can see AAC is also working as the toggle breaks the audio for a bit and after a second or two it comes back, seemingly with a higher quality, and I can also see the AAC connection being established in the logcats. I can see the LDAC encoder executable/drivers (libldacbt_abr.so and libldacBT_enc.so) both on /system/lib and /system/lib64, so there was at least an attempt to implement them, or maybe its an AOSP leftover. There's countless magisk modules that seem to help this issue but I'm not sure if they'd work as most of them have been created for Android Oreo (8) and I'm now running Android Q (10), with Android R (11) already on sight. I have seen a fix which supposedly relies only on changing a string on the build.props file, but I couldn't find that string, thus leading me to believe even stronger that the old modules would fail. TL;DR: Wondering if there's a way to get LDAC to work on the Redmi Note 9 Pro, with or without magisk modules [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2021 04:25 PM PST Hey guys! i've been looking for a new phone for a while now. I'm wondering what your thoughts are, i'm between the note 10 pro and the 10pro which may be released this year. From what I understand the main difference will be the zoom between cameras? And the battery life I think. I'm caught between the 10 range to be honest with you. I need good bluetooth connectivity, heard there were issues with the 10 on that. I also want a very good camera (all of them seem to be mostly matched on that) and then minimal bloatware. What would your experiences recommend? Similarly, as i'm new to Xiaomi, I did some research and heard about the privacy concerns. I concede every piece of tech everywhere is collecting something out there with our data- believe me, I did a dissertation on it! But, have any of you taken any steps to try allay some of your fears using this phone? e.g installed apps/got a VPN..? How often do you get updates either software/security ones? How long do they get supported for/whats the lifetime of these devices usually? lastly, are all the apps on the store basically the same ones as samsung? Tldr:
Also- Happy New Year! I appreciate any replies to this :) [link] [comments]

MIUI 11 Ambient Sounds / Timer Posted: 01 Jan 2021 06:47 PM PST I just found out that when you run the timer it plays ambient sounds like rain, from a quick Google search I found out that it got advertised as part of the MIUI 11 update. Now I am wondering if there are any settings for it that I don't seem to find neither in settings nor the settings of the time app. [link] [comments]
The great thing about Android 10 is you can disable things that you can't uninstall. Posted: 01 Jan 2021 03:01 AM PST https://i.imgur.com/nhWIrnl.jpg I usually disable digital well being, Google, assistant. I usually don't use this things. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Jan 2021 03:10 PM PST I'm using a Mi A2 still. For some odd reason my fast charging won't work. It just stopped working last week. It's taking 4hrs to charge it from 15% to 100%. I did clean out the USB port a few weeks ago and fast charging worked afterwards. I used a pin to remove a few small pieces of lint. I've tried different chargers, different cables, I calibrated my battery, I took a photo of my USB port and on zooming in there doesn't appear to be any damage. Any ideas or suggestions? Edit: I also did the code ##6484## and did a battery check. After plugging in my phone into the charger it gives me a reading, then when I unplug it, it tells me to connect to fast charge. It says test failed. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Jan 2021 02:44 PM PST I have been thinking about getting the mibro air smartwatch but I don't know if it is worth buying it. I am currently using the mi band 4. Edit: Do I have better options for same price I pais for the mi band 4 ? [link] [comments]

Mi Unlock (Poco F1) - Help! What does this error say? Posted: 01 Jan 2021 01:47 PM PST I've never ran into an issue unlocking bootloader, installing custom roms, etc. Been using my Poco F1 for a while but with newest MIUI update, and the battery health down to 2800mAh capacity, I'm not having as long SOT as I'd like, obviously. So have decided to move to Paranoid Android ROM. However, I'm facing [this error](https://imgur.com/a/XJqVp2b) whenever I try to unlock the bootloader with MiFlash / Mi Unlock. I've tried several versions (about 6) of the tool; earlier versions tell me to upgrade to a later version, and newer versions give me this error. Can anyone tell me what it says? Or maybe point me in a direction to move past this error? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
