Installing Nvidia Drivers through GeForce Experience vs manually Posted: 29 Jan 2021 12:30 PM PST I hear a lot of people say it's better to install nvidia drivers manually, but I never understood why. A lot of people say they don't like GeForce experience just because it's unnecessary, however there are some features of it that I like, such as shadowplay, ansel, fps meter, etc. Now, I also like the automatic driver instalation, but I'm willing to do it manually if there's actually any benefit at all. Any insight on this would help. [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Jan 2021 04:26 PM PST Last time I checked this worked perfectly fine, but today no chance. I bought one blindly (not clever, I know) and it was scam. After that I checked the others and what I noticed is that 1) not a single (reasonably cheap) key for windows 10 home and 2) every single windows 10 pro key was sold by an account not older than a few days, so probably scam too. What happened? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jan 2021 07:39 PM PST Hi, I'm trying to reinstall windows on my new PC, and have gotten to the "where to do you want to install Windows" stage, and have noticed there are 4 partitions all of a sudden. Type system, MSR (resevered), Primary (my SSD), and recovery. What exactly are these? Should I delete these as I want a completely fresh install? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Everything slow and big after gpu driver update Posted: 29 Jan 2021 04:16 PM PST I update my driver for my gpu and it now says no driver installed. Now everything is bigger not zoomed in but bigger, there's black bars around my screen and games like quake 1 run at 2 FPS. [link] [comments]

Xbox Server Connectivity Blocked Posted: 29 Jan 2021 03:12 PM PST Hi! I have a bit of a question, that probably has been asked dozens of times on this subreddit already, but I found none that included the fix for my problem. So the problem is that the "Server connectivity" on Xbox Networking in Windows settings is blocked, NAT Type is Open, no packet loss, and 174 ms latency: Screenshot of the settings page The NAT Type is sometimes also blocked if I try to check directly after booting up Windows, but then the second time it's almost always open. What I'm ultimately trying to do is to connect to Horizon Life in Forza Horizon 4 to play with some friends, as that doesn't work right now: Screenshot of the error I'm getting in FH4 Now to the major fixes I've tried: Everything here: The "Click here for more information." page on NAT Type Everything here: The "Click here for more information." page on server connectivity Everything here: Some Xbox forum page Opened all the required ports for Xbox Live and tried turning off my Firewall I've never cheated or hacked on any Microsoft or Xbox game with this account or on this computer so I at least shouldn't have gotten banned. There are a lot more pages, forums and Reddit posts I've gone through but I can't really link them all here as there are tens of them. Does anyone have any fix to this problem that may still work? Question about NTP on a home office scenario Posted: 29 Jan 2021 03:06 PM PST Hi! I configured my company environment to use the main DC as the NTP server. If I run on my organization PC the w32tn /query /configuration command it shows: Type: NT5DS (Local) If I run on the w32tm /query /source command on the same PC it shows the second DC (running the same command on that DC shows the main DC of the forest/domain correctly). Running the same commands on a notebook at home (domain joined) without connecting to the VPN, it show Local CMOS Clock and Type: NT5DS (Local). Even when I connect to the VPN, it shows the same stuff. How can I be able to get my DC's time when I am on a VPN, and to get from time.windows.com when I'm not connected on those home office devices? DCs: (Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 SP2) Clients: Windows 10 Pro [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jan 2021 03:01 PM PST Hoping you guys can help. I've never seen this particular issue. New server, not running it's own DNS server, just a basic file server. Server name is ABC (it really is only 3 letters, in case this matters). Workstations can browse by the network share with ZERO issues \\ABC\Shared etc. WORKS. but...I can not PING ABC. If I manually put in 10.0.0.2 ABC in the hosts file, I can ping it. I just can't for the life me of figure out how the workstation can browse by the name ABC but it can't ping it. Is it a router issue? The old server it's replacing is named ABC-Server and it works fine. All workstations are fine. Only this server can't be pinged. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Tried to Reset PC and now only getting Blue Screen of Death Posted: 29 Jan 2021 05:57 AM PST I tried to do a Windows Reset yesterday. It went through the first couple of steps and then tried to restart itself but couldn't - a blank, black screen would just continuously flash on and off. I went into the UEFI and ran system checks - everything passed. In System Recovery, I tried "Use another operating system" which gave me three options
Any ideas on how to get Windows going again? Thanks! [link] [comments]
