[Tip] How to (actually) change your CSC so you can get faster updates through OTA

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 03:14 AM PST

Idk why this very useful tip is not talked about much but you can get faster updates if you switch your CSC region to Germany (if you're on Exynos) or South Korea (if you're on Qualcomm). To do this,

backup your device and then open the phone app and type:

    *#272*YOUR-IMEI-NUMBER

This will show you a screen where you can choose your CSC. Choose DBT (Germany CSC) or SKT (South Korean CSC) depending on your chip. After this, your device will be factory reset and will restart to the setup page. Change the language quickly to your desired setting and continue setup. You may be asked to "restart your device to apple carrier settings" or something similar- DO NOT CLICK 'OK', instead, click continue and finish the setup process. If you click 'OK', your device will change back to your default CSC. After setup, you'll be now getting regular OTA updates the same day Samsung releases them. However, you would still have to flash updates manually for beta firmwares.

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for what happens to your phone. Proceed at your own risk. Also, this probably works only for devices on One UI 2 or 2.5 and above.

I'm not sure if this'll work on bootloader-locked phones either (but you could try it). Also, Samsung Pay will stop working and will not accept your card (but Google Pay and others will continue to work). Other Samsung apps, however, will continue working normally without any problems.

Google Meet uses 4G for no reason? I have a stable 200mbps Wifi, why does it use 4G?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 04:05 AM PST

Hello, my phone crashed and turned off and when I turned it back on again the notification bar looked like this.

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 07:44 AM PST

What's that little bar around the top left barely sticking out onto the screen? Try and ignore the volume display I'm terrible at screenshots. If I hold the bar I can move it up and down but that's it.

A leak from a Belgian carrier stating the S21 Ultra is 6.8 inches down from 6.9 on the S20 Ultra, and also stating it comes with a 3.5mm jack, surely this can't be right

Can I damage my display screen with the pen on galaxy tab s 7?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 07:12 AM PST

When I use Clip Studio I sometimes see the pen affecting the display, like its a little soft, I noticed it is only doing that around the magnet for the keyboard case, I m not applying that much pressure but it still worries me a lil bit. Do you guys know if it could be damaged this way?

How do I permanently turn off the software update reminder on the notification settings?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 06:06 AM PST

It won't go away and I don't wish to update just yet so it's being annoying.

    Bright Pixel...Sometimes?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 05:24 AM PST

So, I was watching The Queen's Gambit last night on the Netflix app on my Q8R55 (bought last April 2020).

Noticed on a couple of scenes a really bright pixel - and it stood out because it was a particularly dark scene. But - and this is the weird thing, it only happens on these scenes, wasn't happening elsewhere and I haven't noticed it on anything else (yet!).

    Example: https://imgur.com/a/sn5zktS

Is there anything I can do to try and replicate it to see if it is a problem with the TV or it was an issue with that program? I watched that same scene on my phone and couldn't see it. Will try the Netflix app on my xbox tonight to see.

Anyone else seen anything else like this?

Recovering data from a damaged a41 - what are the possibilities?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2021 01:18 AM PST

Hi everyone, unfortunately I dropped my A41 in water. Since I know water damage is often not salvageable I took it to a third party repair place who said it's can't be saved. There's a lot of corrosion and the battery is bloated.

They did mention the 'board' (logic board?) could be put into a new handset to recover the data on it but that this is very expensive.

There isn't a ton of data I will lose but if possible it would be nice to save my photos which weren't backed up since a few months ago. (oops).

Is there any other way of recovering data? I know very little about phones technically but I know it's not like replacing a hard drive in a computer haha.
