Haptic feedback of the Oneplus 8 pro Posted: 26 Jan 2021 07:26 PM PST How is it that in 2021 oneplus still didn't give us the choice to set the haptic feedback intensity? They advertised their gReAtLy improved taptic engine and yet it feels very generic because there is no way to adjust the strength. Also, they really never bothered to implement it to more than just keyboard typing and swiping. There's so many possibilities and yet I barely ever get to use the haptic feedback. Does getting a OnePlus phone make sense anymore? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:15 AM PST I had the OG OnePlus One, really liked it even though I had some quality issues and had it replaced under warranty. I had no intention of upgrading, but lost it and got the OnePlus 3 in November 2016. I'm still rocking the OP3, still fairly happy with it. I've had the screen replaced once with OnePlus after a drop and I replaced the camera myself after it stopped focusing, but it's still fairly snappy in day to day use and the battery usually lasts the workday without issues. But I've now started to look around for a replacement phone and I've begun to wonder if it really makes sense to get a OnePlus phone these days. In the "Old days" they were the best bang for your buck by a mile with high end hardware and the software was the best, and they would even encourage rooting and loading custom roms. Nowadays they are just as expensive as their competitors, software seems to have taken a downturn, and I couldn't care less about custom roms these days... Should I consider a new OnePlus phone, or should I just get the new Samsung and be happy? TLDR: ARE ONEPLUS PHONES WORTH GETTING THESE DAYS AS THEY ARE JUST AS EXPENSIVE AS THE COMPETITION [link] [comments]

Brutal screen burn in after a year and a half with the OnePlus 7 Pro Posted: 26 Jan 2021 07:04 PM PST The entire top bar is burnt in, my keyboard is burnt in. I've had various phones over the last 15 years and I've never ever seen screen burn in on any of my phone's, let alone this bad. What the fuck brother... [link] [comments]
One plus nord: My 70yr old dad keeps reinitialising his phone Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:08 AM PST I have offered a phone (one plus nord) to my father for christmas, he has factory reset his phone already 3 times this phone when trying to shut down his phone (e.g. he has big fingers) Is there a way to disable that factory reset button sequence? Or a way to make is easier for eldery to turn off their phones? (e.g. via a shortcut) Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Oneplus buds z or bullets wireless z? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 02:23 PM PST I currently have the bullets wireless z. They came with my OP8 and I have so far been very happy with the sound and overall quality of them. Right now they're $29.95 on the website, and I was thinking about getting another pair as extra because I love them that much, but I just saw the buds z (Steven harrington edition) and they are so cool. I had airpods, galaxy buds +, among other truly wireless earbuds and I really want some truly wireless earphones but since I have the bullets z I just stuck with them as the sound quality is fantastic imo. So I don't k owe if I should just get another pair of the bullets z or get the buds z, do the buds z sound the same as the bullets z? Which one should I get? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:17 AM PST Hi, I need some opinions, Should I get the 8T or 8pro? or wait until March for the newest range to release? It might be worth noting my current phone is a smashed up budget Honor 20 purchased at a reasonable £400. I owned a OP 6 but cancelled my contract within the 30 day period as I really didn't like it. I have also read alot of people think OP is finished; targeting their devices to the mainstream audience. Am I too late to the party and should just look elsewhere? Samsung? Google? iPhone? Thanks, Kieran [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:22 PM PST My oneplus's wifi recently got really slow. It was fine during the morning and the days before. I tested my other wireless devices and the speeds remained the same. It seems like it's only on my oneplus. [link] [comments]

Is it just me, or battery and Nightscape photos have improved in Open Beta 1 on 7T pro? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:12 PM PST Is it just me or did someone else notice that? I get around 8 hrs of screen on time instead of 6-7? And Nightscape photos seem better detailed imo. Or my mind just plays tricks on me? [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Jan 2021 10:33 AM PST I used to have a Huawei phone, and when I recorded acoustic guitar, it sounded great. When I record on my OnePlus 8T, it sounds muffled? I've tried taking my case off and dusting over the microphone port. Apparently I sound normal on phone calls, but when I play videos back, it sounds awful! Any idea why/how to fix? Issue with WhatsApp image sharing Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:58 AM PST Hey guys, I currently have an 8 Pro running on OOS11.0.2.2.IN11AA and I'm facing an issue with sharing images through WhatsApp and gives me the error "sharing failed, please try again." This usually happens when I'm sharing multiple images from the Gallery app. I'm not facing the issue when I share the same images from within WhatsApp. And also, when I try to share images from Google Photos why does it share it in BIN format and not JPG? Can someone please explain why the oneplus 8 pro gets so much hate? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 07:55 AM PST I mean sure it's more expensive than the 7 pro, and it doesn't have the pop up camera that a LOT of people liked... I don't get it. Can someone explain? I know it's not the specs, because I looked through and actually found the specs to be significantly better than the S20 Ultra / Note 20 Ultra in many regards. Admittedly I live in an Exynos region, but still. [link] [comments]
Oneplus Alternatives? (Serious, honest question) Posted: 26 Jan 2021 11:19 AM PST TLDR: What phone/brand, in your opinion, offers a great+ user experience with hardware/software that could justify a switch from OP at a good value(not asking for the lowest price, but a fair price) I currently use a OP6T, my one and only OP phone ever (still wonderful, only battery is a bit old, soon to be replaced) and it offered me a great+ experience(not excellent, as we all know its limitations) But i do keep thinking sometimes, as technology evolves: Should i switch? Ive been following OP since the 1 (altough i got an invite, couldnt use it at the time), but only was able to buy the 6T early 2019. Right now OP is (In my opinion) striving from what it started and caught my attention( no problem with that, business change) - But the direction they are going for, with the most recent post from Celso (Gcam website creator - https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/l5hojl/i_no_longer_recommend_oneplus/) points me to a direction that isnt healthy. Its turning itself in a xiaomi with multiple phones and mass, lower quality and refinement releases (i know bbk group, oppo, etc) So, in short: What brand youd think its a good go to for a new phone? for an overall great experience. In my mind, pixel line doesnt look bad at all, and with sales price, we usually get a good deal on it. [link] [comments]
[OP5] Which ROM to use in 2021? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 06:53 AM PST I'm still running OOS 9.0.11 on my OP5 and I'm fancying to upgrade to Android 10 (or even 11), since I'm a bit concerned about security. Currently my phone is running stable with TWRP, Magisk 20.3 and ViPER4Android (and some other modules, but I could live without those). So what ROM would you recommend to use for an OP5 used as a daily driver? xXx, Arrow, AOSPA, Lineage? Top priorities for me are: * Must run stable (WiFi, Slider, call, alarm, etc) * V4A must be working * GCam would be nice Things like longer battery life, better performance, customisability would be cool, but are not mandatory. Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:35 AM PST Hi. So I sent my phone in for a repair because the mobile data was cutting out. I sent it away inside the original box with all the stuff inside. It came back today with just the phone in a small cardboard box. Should I not have sent it off with everything it came with? I have already emailed support. Thanks in advance for any help :) [link] [comments]
Problems connecting Oneplus 6 to Windows 10 Posted: 26 Jan 2021 03:53 AM PST Hi all, I've recently purchased a S20 FE 5G, so I'm looking to move all my files from my previous Oneplus 6 (not unlocked/rooted, no TWRP etc) onto the S20 FE. The OP6 is backed up to Google One, but there's quite a bit of content that doesn't appear to be there, so I was going to connect both devices to my laptop and move across via USB. The S20 FE causes my laptop to immediately play the "USB connected" sound and the phone offers the usual PTP/MTP type options, and the phone appears in device manager, but when connecting the Oneplus 6 with the same cable, there's nothing. No sound, no storage options, nothing in device manager. I've got developer options enabled, I've played with different "default USB options" and OTG storage, I've since used two different USB-C>USB-A cables, connected to multiple different USB ports on two different Windows 10 computers (both are Windows 10 Home v2004), and nothing at all. No unknown/portable/android devices in device manager... I see heaps of forum posts about installing random USB drivers off all sorts of different sites, but there's not even an unknown device to be able to install the drivers onto... Any suggestions? I think at this stage I'll probably just upload everything missing to Google One and download it onto the new phone, but I am curious as to why the OP6 doesn't appear in Windows at all. Thanks! (P.S. I'm aware of /r/oneplussupport, but there's 800 subs there, as opposed to 200,000+ here. I've also already posted this over at XDA and so far had no response, so I figured I"d try here too) [link] [comments] |
