8T and 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition - I see what you did there, OnePlus

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 04:04 AM PST

I have a theory: OnePlus collaborated with CD Project because both Cyberpunk 2077 and Oxygen OS 11 are buggy as f*ck and feel like pre-alpha versions. Similarity leads to attraction.

What is your thoughts on this?

    Cheers, lol.

The OnePlus 7 pro is such a gorgeous device. Photo in text below!

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 04:16 AM PST

So I recently saw an action with 2 OnePlus 7T Pro cases for 10€. Now it seemed the cases would also fit my 7 Pro so I ordered the karbon bumper case and boiii does it look good!.

What do you think of this device? Was it peak OnePlus? Since all the controversial decisions for OnePlus it might be for me, not sure!

    Very strange bug...

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 03:56 PM PST

I have a 7 Pro, it's my fourth OnePlus phone (One, X, 5 and 7 Pro) and have never seen this issue before. I have an app called Zedge that I use to download notification sounds and ringtones. Not sure if it's linked, but the audio files I've downloaded through the app are the only audio files I have saved on the device. Have since removed the app just in case that was the problem, not fixed.

So the actual bug... Usually happens when I get in the car and the phone connects to Bluetooth, but can also happen randomly throughout the day, sometimes when the phone is just in my pocket. It will start playing my ringtone making me think I'm receiving a call, but it plays through the whole thing and then proceeds to play each notification sound I have saved as well - then starts again. Will continue to okay every audio file I have in that folder forever, the only way to stop it is to reboot the phone. Happens at least once a week.

I am at a complete loss to the cause... I have had the phone since new when they launched, the problem started occuring about 6 months ago. Factory reset the phone twice, most recently about 4 weeks ago. Problem is persisting.

Not sure if it's an issue with some kind of audio player built into the phone or if it's something else. Haven't been able to find any posts on forums, but I don't frequent this subreddit. Anyone had a similar issue that has been rectified?

Trying to figure out OnePlus 8 model variations and differences

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 07:20 PM PST

I'm in the US, currently using a Pixel 2XL on Total Wireless, but potentially switching to Visible (both on Verizon's network).

I'm looking to upgrade phones, and the OnePlus 8 seems to fit my bill, but I'm having trouble figuring out the subtle differences between the different 8 variations (in2015, in2017, in2019, etc.).

I don't think I need the Verizon UW version, is that correct? (also it has a different physical size, cases are harder to find). I've heard that the T-Mobile and International versions are actually identical, but would either one would work on Verizon-based Total Wireless/Visible? I know lots of things are changing with CDMA, and that compatibility isn't needed anymore?

Sorry for all the questions, I just feel like I can't get a straight answer anywhere.

Should I swap my 8 for an 8t?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 02:33 AM PST

My mom wants a new phone, she wants to get the 7t which is what my dad has. I have the 8 (im 16 and im saving money). 7t is outta stock so she asked me if I wanted to pay the difference and take the 8t and she'll take the 8. Is it a good deal? Thing is I got the 8 when it was 50k inr and the 8t is 42k inr. Is there any quality difference between them two?

    Change hostname of OnePlus 8T

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 05:52 PM PST

    Ahoi,

I can't seem to figure out how to rename my phone. I found this on other devices sometimes in the developer settings but the 8T doesn't seem to have such an option. Is there another way of doing it? Maybe with an app? I don't want to root the thing.

Looking for a ROM that has these features

Oneplus 7pro wouldn't charge when the battle drain completely. Has this happened to anybody?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 01:44 PM PST

Last night i forgot to charge the phone before i went to bed. Charge was like 10% i slept for about 9 hrs 😅 This morning when i woke up the phone was dead.
I put plugged in and went to eat breakfast, when i came back like 20 mins later it hand't charge anything.

I was getting mad i just finished paying the phone off Friday 😂 🤣🤣🤣

I remember this happened last year and plug it into the pc. Little by little started charging. When it was at 3% i plugged it into the wall charger. It charged but this is weird. Is it normal.

    Any work around? Thanks

Switching out my OnePlus 6 - which phone to get

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 01:11 PM PST

So, the time has come for me to get rid of my OnePlus 6. It's becoming too slow, the battery is dying and I need more storage.

The question is, which phone should I get? I'm slightly fed up with OnePlus (higher prices, no longer flagship), but I'm also used to them, and love the alert slider.

    I can get a Samsung Galaxy S20+ for $980 (6000DKK), which is $410 under MSRP (2500DKK). I could also get a OnePlus 8 pro for $1178 (7200dkk). (Or wait for OP9?)

A part of me really wants to switch to Samsung, because of 5 year software updates, and I'm generally hearing good things. Another part of me is really worried about missing things I'm used to, like dash charge, and the alert slider.

So my question is, what would you do in my situation? Anybody who has switched to Samsung or who has experience with OneUI who will share their experiences?

And no, I won't switch to Apple again.

    Oneplus 8T lockscreen lag

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 03:35 PM PST

Hello, I'm not sure if this has been asked before.

I'm using a Oneplus 8T on OxygenOS 11 and I'm experiencing a pretty annoying lag when unlocking the phone from the lockscreen with the lock pattern or when opening the camera from the lockscreen.

When I swipe upwards to reveal the pattern field there is always a little stutter and when I enter the unlock pattern it opens, then freezes for a second or two and then goes to the homescreen.

Similarly when I swipe upwards from the bottom right corner to open the camera the animation starts, freezes for 1 or 2 seconds and then opens the camera.

Has anyone else experienced this? What could I do get rid of this? I never had this issue on my Oneplus 6.

After the last OxygenOS update those issues were gone for a little bit, but came back quickly.

Hi my dash cable broke and I've ordered a replacement cable but it won't be here for at least another week. Can I use a regular type c cable to charge in the mean time? Will that damage the battery?? Thanks

Confused about whether to use the global or European ROM on a OnePlus 8T

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 08:31 AM PST

I live in the UK and I've just purchased a OnePlus 8T from Amazon. It's model number KB2003, which I believe is the European model, but it's running OS version KB05AA, which is the global version.

Should I switch to KB05BA, the European version?

What are the pros and cons of doing so, if any?

    Thanks!

[Question] Is there an application for locking 5G only?

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 10:07 AM PST

Samsung already has an app helps you lock 5G/4G LTE/3G/2G bands WITHOUT root (Samsung Band Selection)

This is a game changer for Oneplus 5G so that we stay on 5G only especially if your area has strong 5G network..

Hopefully someone knows an app, or maybe a setting on dialer for Oneplus 5g phones? Thanks.

Will there be official updates via OTA after updating to open beta 11 in Nord with local upgrade? Or do we have to do future updates always locally?

Looking to get a OnePlus 7t for gaming only

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 07:21 AM PST

I have an iPhone 11 Pro currently but I wish I had a bigger screen to game on plus openness to play almost whatever. Stadia runs like crap through safari I traded in my Xbox one s and ps4 controllers and got a series x controller (it said on the box and it was compatible but they aren't still I was using a ps3 but the disc drive crapped out so there's about 30 or so games I can't play. I have three young kids so I don't get a lot of tv time myself so I don't see the need in fixing it Plus oneX|S are about $400 used but I can get a 7t for about $300 I had $300 saved up for something else but it fell through I will then be able to play stadia better, also game pass and use the series x controller too Just not sure if it's worth doing that or not I could wait for the controller to be compatible My buddy is bringing a one x back for me to fix and if I can I can keep it anyway It won't be my main device. Just gaming in general
