Posted: 29 Dec 2020 10:47 AM PST We all know that Xiaomi's MIUI is worst when it comes to privacy. Today i checked my firewall and the highest number of queries blocked was for this request sdkconfig.ad.intl.xiaomi.com It was blocked for roughly 41.6k times out of total 54.4k blocked queries. If i look at the domain name, it looks like that it is used to serve ads, but looking at the numbers, I don't feel that it's only related to ads, it must be sending analytical (spying 😉) data to this domain. Each and every action we perform is sent to the server. Isn't this should be a concern? Should any company track what we are doing on our phone? They are literally sending our call records too with the numbers to their server. And they call it fair business, and to keep pricing low they're collecting data to show relevant ads. Oh really? If so why this much requests? And why so much collection of data? [link] [comments]
To anyone not getting lockscreen notifications. Posted: 29 Dec 2020 02:14 AM PST Hey guys. I use Signal and Threema as my messaging apps and neither were showing on the lockscreen for me. Searched around and couldn't find a solution. Anyway, stumbled across the issue last night. Not certain how many apps are affected by this but if you hold the relevant app icon and go to.... Info / Notifications / Default / On the Lockscreen In spite of everything else being enabled, within the default settings page it was set to "Don't show notifications at all". What a weird place to bury it. Wasn't battery permissions, wasn't autostart issues, it was simply this. Hopefully this might save someone a few headaches! Have a happy new year when it comes. 🙂 Edit - if no "Default" option it may also be under "Chats", "Notices" or "Incoming Messages". Seems different for many apps but the option is in there somewhere. [link] [comments]
Doed anyone own the Aiedots 2s model, global model? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 07:06 PM PST Does anyone own a Airdots 2s earbuds? Im thinking of getting the si called global version and use it witha global MIUI phone. I would like to know if i will be able to customize controls and firmware without learning mandarin? :)))) Is it in bluetooth settings or how it actually works? [link] [comments]
Xiaomi Body Composition Scale 2 powers on but only displays a single LED light Posted: 29 Dec 2020 07:53 PM PST Just wondering if anyone has experience repairing any of the Xiaomi scales? This one still powers on but only cycles through single LEDs on the display, never displaying a weight measurement or being able to be repaired to the Mi Fit app. As Amazon decided to offer a return less refund for the purchase I'm wondering if anyone has encountered similar and if it's salvageable. Information on repairs on this specific model online is non-existent but from trial and error I've used a wedge tool to separate the glass from the base but I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this as all wires seem securely soldered. Posted: 29 Dec 2020 09:45 PM PST I found the stock rom here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ota-dump-jasmine-v11-0-5-0-qdimixm.3823445/ But I guess I also need the stock recovery partition? And I found these commands, let me know if I'm missing something:
Edit: I can't use the MiFlash Tool cuz I'm on Mac. [link] [comments]

What's the best custom rom for redmi note 9 pro 6/128? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 02:57 PM PST Heya, so this is the first my android smartphone and I've been wondering what is (are) the best custom roms in terms of protection, interface and update, also are there any risks that my phone can turn into a brick and do I need to unlock my bloatware and are there ways of installing roms without doing that? If possible, give an excessive answer because as I mentioned I have no clue about that at all. And yeah, I realize that I could have googled it but I decided to hear direct answers from people who have some knowledge about that [link] [comments]

Xiaomi Mi 10 top speaker too low in WhatsApp/Telegram/Games Posted: 29 Dec 2020 04:56 PM PST Hi. I recently bought a Xiaomi Mi 10 and before using it I went through updates (so I cannot say how it was before). I have notices that when reproducing an audio or voice note in apps like WhatsApp or Telegram, the sound is very low and sometimes it reproduces them well and then bad and so on. It also happen in games, where a MI 9T is louder than mine. I have noticed too that it happens when increasing the general volume. However, when reproducing music the sound is amazing. A friend told me that it also happens to him and that it is a common bug. Is that true? Is not any solution yet? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2020 04:45 PM PST Does anyone else have this bug on the mi 10 where the screen will randomly switch to 60hz? In the settings it says it's still on 90 and it only switches back if you turn on 60 hz mode and 90 again after. This happens every few days and is kinda annoying. Any fix? [link] [comments]
Can't get the MiFit app installed on my phone Posted: 29 Dec 2020 12:36 PM PST I downloaded the Mifit app from the playstore but when I try to set it up it keeps asking me for an authentication code but it does not give me any way to get the authentication code. I actually had a Mifit app on my phone previously and deleted to so I could do a password reset but again they keep asking for an authentication code without giving me a way to get the code. What is the problem here? Thanks in Advance!!! [link] [comments]

Wrong battery stats on Redmi 9 Posted: 29 Dec 2020 03:26 PM PST Hello, so I purchased a Redmi 9 about two weeks ago. The battery life is amazing which is expected since the battery is 5020mAh. My issue is that the stats reported on the settings page seem all wrong. For starters the percentage on the status bar and the settings menu are never the same, the more the battery is used the bigger the discrepancy (status bar percentage is always lower than it should be based on the usage percentage on the settings page). To check things further I let my phone discharge to almost zero but the reported battery usage never went above 80% so it was only reporting about 3800 - 4000 mAh usage but the status bar says the battery is almost at 0%. I'm getting about 11 to 12 hours of screen on time and when the battery is on the higher percentages it's depleting at about 400 to 500 mAh which makes sense to me for the screen on time I'm getting, so I don't know which of the two percentages is actually right or if there might something wrong with the phone why it's not using almost 20% of it's capacity. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm currently on MIUI 11.0.5 on a Global but Carrier ROM. Would a full reset help? [link] [comments]
[HELP] Stuck on TWRP recovery after reboot Posted: 29 Dec 2020 03:26 PM PST I have a Redmi Note 8T and when I rebooted my phone TWRP showed up. I did everything I could do but I'm still stuck. I tried wiping all data, installing a new Stock Rom and a new Custom Rom, but nothing changed. If this is the wrong sub, tell me where I should ask help. [link] [comments]
Mi 11 thoughts over Mi 10T Pro Posted: 29 Dec 2020 02:54 PM PST Ok ,so I've been wanting to try a Xaoimi phone for a while,my previous phones are Realme X2 pro and OnePlus 6T, I really like the Mi 10T pro now even though it's LCD ,I like the large battery and 108mp camera. The Mi 11 is coming but it has curved edges which really suck IMO. I can get the Mi 10T pro in UK now for about £400 in new year deal but I've only got a few days. Does the Mi11 have a much better camera ? It is coming with 2k display and better specs but it's bound to be a lot more expensive in UK anyway. Should I just go for the 10T pro now ?
