Why is miui so bad on redmi devices?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:21 PM PST

Ever since Redmi and Xiaomi "split" I feel like every MIUI version after that has been slow or laggy on Redmi devices.

My Thoughts on Mi 10 Ultra

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:04 PM PST

Recently, I have gotten myself a 8gb 128gb transparent version of the mi 10 ultra. I was super excited at first because it had extremely good camera and specs at a price lower than most flagships, but it didn't turn out well. The screen - 1080p 387ppi. I thought 387ppi would be more than enough, but since I've been using a 1440p 550ppi phone for the past years, the difference was clear, the reddit icon was extremely blur for some reason. The auto brightness is also not optimised, I often find myself having to manually turn it off and turn it back on to get a better brightness level. 120hz is smooth as expected, but once I turn it down to 60hz, the entire phone feels as if it's defying my choice, the entire phone is worse than 30fps, might be a system bug on my side. I've also checked the DXOMark on this device's screen, and it had an utterly terrible score for a flagship. 38 score for video viewing, personally I cannot tell because I've only used two flagship phones in my life. However, on the bright side, this screen feels very slick and beautiful. System - Clean, but with major flaws. This system feels very mature and clean with their layout and word fond, I was very impressed with this when I got my phone. Game Mode feels cool and it's a nice feature to have when gaming. Floating windows feels just nice for their size, but it just won't support YouTube for some reason. In game mode, you can open floating windows in the game, but literally every app is cramped into the small floating window selection place and I can't seem to favourite some apps I want to use. Here comes the major issue: WiFi connectivity. I have multiple wifi routers at home and my old phone, a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, has been handing it very well by switching to the best wifi point in seconds. Mi 10 Ultra just doesn't want to switch, I must manually turn off and turn on wifi whenever I want to switch. I got so pissed at one point I just decided not to use the phone for a few hours and went to my computer. I've emailed Xiaomi this issue, they just ignored me. When I ask them about purchasing stuff, they instantly reply. I emailed not once, but twice. Camera - Revolutionary. 2x, 5x, 10x zoom are crystal clear, and zooms over 10x are also very powerful, the system will also smoothen out the picture taken by 120x. You might want to get a tripod when taking the moon with 120x. Overall, 8/10. The bugs are just too overwhelming.

MIUI V12.0.5.0 for Redmi Note 9 Global ROM version

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:23 PM PST

I just wanted to ask why my update is only 1.9GB whereas in other forums I read is that the total update for MIUI V12.0.5.0 for Redmi Note 9 Global ROM version is 2.3GB. Can someone clarify my thoughts , is normal or there is something wrong ?

    Ads, ADS EVERYWHERE

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 02:50 PM PST

Dear Xiaomi, I have paid for my phone. Fully paid for it. Why are you flooding stock apps with Ads? What do you need the ad revenue for? Doesn't selling Gadgets and stuff not enough? I mean come on. Ads on the File Manager? Ads on the Security?

    Redmi note 9

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:11 PM PST

I recently got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and it been working great so far. I've been trying to sync my phone to Mi Cloud services; however, the verification sms being sent to verify my phone number is an international sms and I end up getting "Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active." Is there any way to have the verification sms being sent locally rather than internationally?

Thanks for the help/advice, have a great day!

    Xiaomi notebook pro

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 02:19 PM PST

I want to review this product after over two years of use. I bought in 2018 the version with i5 and 8gb of ram and I have to say it: I'm really satisfied. It's a beautiful computer(even though it looks like a MacBook or maybe thanks to it, it's up to you) and also a great machine. It never crashed or gave me problems, except every now and then the annoying fan problem that in my case it's not so relevant. What I like the most? Its full metal body. There was no pc with that price all metal, they are a lot of plastic and feels less solid.

If any of you wonders if it's valuable, let me tell you: it is.

Thanks xiaomi, you really make good products.

So after update a week ago or so my Redmi Note 7 started lagging and my battery is way shorter

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 01:40 PM PST

Got the phone for a year and a half, heard they intentionally ruin some phones with updates.

Question is what do I do? Do I do what they want my to do, buy a new phone in a month or 2? Probably when the Redmi Note 10 comes out, or an even better model if I'm willing to spend a bit more $ then

Or do I put a custom OS or whatever you do which I have 0 knowledge in and I don't really wanna risk ruining my phone completely

All Xiaomi phones in my home can't make a call.

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 02:49 PM PST

    Hello.

Today my Xiaomi Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition was delivered to me. I'm using it about 10 hours since I installed it and we just noticed that nobody in the house can make a call! We all have Xiaomi phones, redmi note 4x, 7 and 8. Even though we can't call, we can receive calls.

Is it a coincidence? Unfortunately we don't have other mobile phones other than Xiaomi, and we are currently in lock down, so I can't find another phone to test it.

Also I'm living in Greece, but in the region settings in the router I chose Germany, could this cause an issue?

    Crappy connection after update

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 02:30 PM PST

Hi, I just updated my Xiaomi Remi Note 8T yesterday to MIUI 12.0.1 and something went wrong with my 4G connection.

I am using USB tethering a lot because we have no cable internet here. Today I noticed a lot of webpages aren't loaded. My browser just shows a blank page and I need to press F5. A lot of websites aren't even loading after a refresh.

Geforce Now shows me that now I have a 0.1% packet loss what was always 0%. It is really weird and as a programmer, I really need the internet for my job, what is happening?
