| Is there a shortcut/App to place USB tethering in the Home-screen of MIUI? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 07:45 PM PST My device is Redmi 5 running on Android 8.1 and MIUI 11.0.2. I use USB tethering often and find it difficult to constantly run through a number of settings to toggle a single button. I would highly prefer an Ad-free solution or at least something with less intrusive ads. A big NO for POP UP Ads. Edit: Redmi has split the Hotspot and tethering menus separately. All the apps that I tried redirect me to the hotspot page. Is there some workaround for this ? [link] [comments]  |

| A password manager with good autofill Posted: 02 Dec 2020 09:56 PM PST I've been using last pass for years and on my iPhone it worked so well. Even if it couldn't match the website it would still open up the interface and allow me to search or pick something else. On Android lastpass is app specific and then it only works if it matches perfectly. What does everyone else use? My only requirement is that it's cross platform and works better than lastpass. | Looking for a scrolling RSS news ticker widget Posted: 03 Dec 2020 06:02 AM PST Years ago I used to have a widget which would hover over the screen at all times (more of a floating app than a widget) it was a scrolling news ticker. In the settings of the app you could input URL's of RSS feeds and then the rss feeds would scroll across a blue bar (which I positioned at the top of my screen) so basically it was like what tv news channels do having the headlines scroll along the bottom of the screen. I've found a couple of similar apps but they all had various issues such as the one by JT Indie which looks great but crashes when you try to resize it or interact with it in any way. Or the one by Yangg Devlin which just dosen't work at all. Anyone know of an app that works like this? [link] [comments]  |

People report an inability to call at times if I don't ensure Zoiper is running. Phone is on with medium/high battery. Wifi and LTE are both enabled. Before I moved to Android, I used to have a jailbroken iPhone and I had a tweak installed that made the phone output a sound, something like the "I have fallen" meme, once it felt it had been dropped. I know, it is completely useless and quite stupid but it was funny to me. I've tried looking for something similar for Android but I haven't been able to find one that works properly. | Is it so difficult to get Android Notifications to work like this? Posted: 03 Dec 2020 08:31 AM PST I have, what I think, is a fairly simple requirement. I want to get a notification on my home screen from selected apps, eg todo, SMS, email.. The notification to then stay on the screen until I dismiss it and repeat (at a set time interval) until I either change the due date time or delete the notification. I've tried all sorts of combinations of apps and fiddling with settings but nothing that can deliver this request. I'm using buzzkill and heads up notifications along with other various notification 'apps'. I've also got tasker (but not skilled enough to use it to do this). If anyone can point me at a solution or how to make this assortment of apps work in the way I describe above then would appreciate some direction. Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

(Samsung s10+) I know there is way to make automatic download from smb server to android memory but it's not possible due to smb drive is over 1tb big.
