It nice to have finally found headphones that don't annoy while working in my shop. And that don't hurt my ear canals after a half hour. I enjoy listening to both music and podcasts while I work. Further as a shop teacher currently stuck teaching from home they work very well for Google meets with my laptop as well. My students say they can hear me very well and I can hear them better than using the device speakers.

I won the free shipping during the flash sale the other day so decided to make the plunge.

Pros no cords to catch and make noise while working Charge fast Comfortable Light

Cons you need to do some fiddling to get the settings figured out on your device..I use a 7t They need the firmware updated out of the box to get all features working and it's not intuitive how to do so at first..

Is there a way to turn the volume further down?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 07:18 AM PST

The minimum volume is too loud.

Is there some setting where I can adjust how low it goes?

Just been trying out the camera on my new 8T. I feel like it has very 5T camera vibes. Would I be more impressed with the 8 Pro, if so how much?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 04:15 PM PST

Been trying out my new OnePlus 8T camera for the first time. Full disclosure, it's night time here.

I pulled it out and it couldn't focus on my cat. My heart sank. I tried over and over and it couldn't get it to focus. He's a black cat, but it's a small room, I have 4 hue lights on 100% white.

Maybe it's bad luck, but some of my shots were just smudged streaks, unrecognisable.

Okay, I think, I'll try a video call. So I make a call, add both my 8T and 6T to it so I can compare the video on both. Again, I'm sure not the greatest test, but a real world one. The 8T has a yellow-ish cast to it, just like the 5T used to. I was glad to see the back of that. The white balance is shifting a lot as I look around the room.

I set the lights up a bit better, try desperately to get some photos of the cat in focus. I do a better job and get some that look alright. I zoom in and it looks like the water colour effect that the 5T used to have.

I get my 6T out, try to take very similar photos. Maybe my memory of it's photos is better than they actually are? They in focus, with less effort. I zoom in, I wouldn't say they are crisp, but they are clearer than the 8T.

I wonder if I hadn't read bad things about the 8T camera if I would feel differently. Then I look back at the first few shots I took. They made such a bad impression, the first 5 are unusable.

I always hoped the 5T would be updated and fixed, but it wasn't. So why would this be?

I am wondering if I should return this and buy an 8 Pro. I don't feel like it's fit for purpose. I could have coped with the camera not being much better than my 6T, but at the moment I feel like it's actually a little worse.

Would I be much more impressed with the 8 Pro? Am I expecting too much, or should I just look elsewhere?

I know I should try it in proper daylight tomorrow. Is there anything else I should test to give it a fair shake?

New OP8Pro, which boot image to root my phone and what's the best version of OS for maximum mods?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:17 PM PST

So I just got my OP8 Pro.

1 ) What version of the boot image do I need to be patching to PROPERLY root my OP 8 Pro? I bought mine in Canada from Amazon, if I need to be looking at certain data on the phone to find the right boot image lemme know please!

    Build number is OxOS 10.5.10.IN11AA

    Model is IN2025

    2) For my OP 6 it made sense for me to stay with 5.1.11 since it had maximum number of Magisk & Xposed modules for my phone that functioned flawlessly. What do you think I should be using for my new phone, should I update to the latest OS or should I refrain for the time being?

    Massive Delays When Taking Pictures

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:37 PM PST

I'm hoping this is an easy fix.

If I'm trying to take a selfie in low light the entire screen goes white for a few seconds and then after that there is a huge delay before it snaps a photo. It's virtually worthless.

The same thing goes for taking a normal photo with the back camera. I bearable delay.

I just want the camera to snap a picture when I press the button.

    Oneplus doesn't support MIDI devices?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 06:21 AM PST

After researching for 24 hours, it seems Oneplus phones currently don't support MIDI devices such as piano midi keyboards or drum pads.

Enabling OTG data exchange does help my phone detecting midi devices, but Oxygen OS identifies them as standard external keyboards for typing instead of music devices that can be used in apps such as "perfect piano" or "FL studio".

It looks like I am not the only one with this problem:

    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/midi-not-working.1101493/

    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/midi-support.826701/

Has anyone here gotten their Oneplus working with a midi keyboard before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    My setup:

Oneplus 6 with Oxygen OS 10.3.6.

Midi Keyboards: Yamaha S90xs, Masterkey 49.

Connector: AmazonBasics USB Type-C to USB 3.1.

Back to the roots? Gcam as stock

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:57 PM PST

I own a OP8T and I am very glad with it. The pictures aren't as bad as everyone (mostly on YouTube) says, it's only not always consistent. Because most tech enthusiasts install GCam I thought to myself 'wouldn't it be going back to the roots for Oneplus to just include this as a stock cam one way or another.'

Most people, including me, bought the Oneplus One because of the custom rom and the customization experience and techy feel it brought with it.

I used to flash all kinds of roms on my OPO but I don't feel like doing that anymore. I think their software is just on point now. It would be nice though to be able to change smaller but impactful things like changing the camera app to GCam.

Would they be able to pull this of or is this a stupid idea? At least they could be able to let the community make one?

    OnePlus 8 Pro vibration issues

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 01:25 PM PST

I just got this phone this week and have noticed that I don't get alerts for have of my notifications. My text only pings when I have the app open and i haven't been able to get it to vibrate for me at all. The vibration works, I can feel the haptic feedback as well as when I shift the slider around. I checked all my settings, and can't find any reason for it not to be working. Would anybody have any ideas for something I might be missing or do I need to send it back?

    8 pro issues after update

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 10:36 AM PST

After the November update I know others have had youtube issues but I feel like many other things are now broken. Cell service and wifi keep dropping and I have to reset frequently. Audio gets stuck in one mode, and won't change even though the software says it is. Frequent crashes and 2 times my phone would not restart for few minutes, I thought it was bricked Other general issues with apps crashing, android auto issues and generally annoying glitches across the board.

In the past I was not having these issues and said so in a few threads where others were, but this update is really, really bad.

OP, please fix this. My OP 8 Pro is still your flagship and this is not how to treat people who bought your most expensive phone.

When does the Black Friday sale end?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 03:32 PM PST

I've search to the best of my ability, but I cannot find anywhere on the site that says when the Black Friday sale ends. Does anybody know if it extends through Monday?

    Thanks!

Love my one plus, except for one detail

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 09:30 AM PST

Have had my one plus for a year and some months, but recently it started using this lockscreen http://imgur.com/gallery/IBLY2Xp

It only shows up when I am sitting at home, and it is grammatically wrong on top of that.

My phone screen is starting to pop off, what can I do about it?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 02:48 PM PST

I have owned my OnePlus 3T for around 3 and a half years now, and today I just noticed that my phone screen is starting to come off at the top right. Nothing traumatic happened to it recently, so it was quite a surprise for me! Also it isn't scratched up as I always use a case.

So to be honest, I am mostly wondering if at this point I can get it repaired for free and what the process is like?

I am in the UK, so also wondering how long it took them to return your phone to you?

Was there any security update for older Oneplus phones? Right now Samsung has published very recent security updates for phones going back to Note5 (2015) and S6 (2015) (and Apple went so far back to iPhone 5 I believe) so one would assume the risks are very hight.

Does the Type-C to Type-C cable support Thunderbolt?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 09:49 AM PST

As per the title. I've tried plugging it in between my laptop and monitor. My monitor detects the cable and switches to that input but doesn't get any signal. The laptop doesn't recognise a monitor is plugged in but does charge.

I'm assuming the cable doesn't support Thunderbolt? I get so confused with this, surely it's just a number of pin outs on one end that go to the same pin outs on the other end, so as long as both devices support the protocol (which they do), the cable should allow it?

Hey guys, I've had my OP7TP for about a year now. I love it however I've noticed my charging cable doesn't stay fully in for that long, do I just need a new cable or could this be something more serious?

New to OnePlus. Have some questions

    Posted: 28 Nov 2020 06:58 AM PST

Just set up my OnePlus 8T and I absolutely love the phone. Coming from a Pixel 2, this phone is blazing fast but the screen size is something I need to get used to. I have some initial questions which I need advice on.

    1. Does ambient display drain battery? I have it currently set to on only during the day but I am concerned it will eat battery life. What are your experiences with it. Is it worth keeping running? I know you lose touch to wake if you display this feature.

    2. Why does Accubattery say my battery health is 48% when my design capacity is 4500mAh. Did I get a defective phone? It still shows 7.5 SOT though. Link

    3. What is GCam and how do I get it specifically for my 8T? I saw it on another post but I got confused with many links offering the apk file and then I need to find the configs for my phone, etc. Where do I find one for the 8T?

    4. How often do you charge your phone with the included Wrap Charge 60? I read online that constant fast charging will destroy your battery. Currently I use my old Pixel charger for night time charging and use the Wrap Charge during the day if I need it.

    Thanks for your help!
