| Is OP repair reliable in the US? Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:24 PM PST So I cracked my OP 8 pro screen in october and haven't gotten it fixed yet. Some local repair shops are hella expensive, so I was thinking of sending it off to OP to get fixed. Is it worth it and is it reliable? My OP3 still works so i can use that in the meantime. But what should I expect as far as repair time and cost? Are they difficult to deal with when it comes to repairs? Everything works fine so i think it's just the glass that's broken and nothing else affected. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 07:42 PM PST Hi, as title says, trying to figure out how to make VLC the default video app when browsing the default gallery, not sure in which app it opens as looking in the apps don't show any "video" app. It's like it opens in the gallery per se, but hard to tell. | Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:13 PM PST Hey everyone, So I've been using my 6t and it works fine, but all of a sudden I have cell service at all. I've tried different sim cards from different providers, tried connecting to network manual, did a factory reset, and wipe cache /data etc... The annoying this is the phone knows who the sim provider is, but does not want to use the cell network. Does anyone know what's wrong with my phone? Would this be a hardware issue or software? Posted: 29 Nov 2020 08:43 PM PST Just the other day I posted here asking a phone recommendation and if I should wait out for the OP9 or buy an OP8 Pro/8T. But just this morning my iphone 7+ gave out. I've been lurking here and you guys are in favor of the OP7 Pro and adamant about the 8 Pro being inferior. Here's the thing I can buy any of the three as it is all available here at the mall near my home. Which of the three is worth the money (which is not an issue, I just want to make the most out of my purchase) in terms of performance, battery, camera, and life support (major and software updatws). I'll be using this phone for maybe 2-3 yrs. Please help me as I don't to buy an iPhone 12 lmao. Another one I've been eyeing is the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro since it has great specs for its price, would you recommend it over the current OnePlus lineup? | Posted: 30 Nov 2020 03:57 PM PST So, around a year ago I bought myself a oneplus 5 as I had fond memories of the revolutionary 1+1. The build quality and design of the hardware were amazing, I really did love how this phone looked and felt in hand. The problem was with the "legendary" oxygen OS, the butterly smooth overlay, the one that according to many feels better than AOSP. It was terrible. While the phone was generally quite fast, it very often suffered from 10-15 second strokes of delightful 15 fps experience which were completely random and rendered the phone completely unusable. Additionally, scrolling felt absolutely disgusting and choppy, unlike on any other phone I ever owned, including such performance beasts as LG L7. Hard reset did nothing, so I googled the problem. To my amusement it was not unique to my phone. I never saw so many forum threads describing the same exact problem, and NONE of them presented a single working solution. Some people said that the choppy scrolling was unique to the OP5 as its screen was mounted upside down, but to my horror, the lag issue plagued ALL models, including the flagship 7 pro. A flagship phone made by a company that loves to gloat about how smooth their phones are suffers from a heavy lag problem and nobody has a solution. Fantastic, isn't it? At the same time some users were swearing on their lives that their phones never suffered a single lag spike and it must be a hardware issue that only some devices present. That being said, random lag spikes on phones with massively varying internals are a textbook software issue. That leaves us with 2 options: a) These people do have the lag spikes but their expectations are so low that the problem doesn't bother them and they don't even notice it. b) Somehow a software issue is only present on some devices. Both of these theories are highly unlikely. Is there something I missed? I really would love to get a oneplus phone again but I'm just not into a coinflip if my new phone is going to be usable or not. Sorry for my english in advance, it's not my first language so if your eyes are bleeding, apply warm water. P.S snapdragon 835 is perfectly capable of delivering totally smooth experience, after I sold OP5 I bought HTC U11 which worked like a charm with half as much ram. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Are OnePlus 8 Pro stereo channels reversed? Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:22 AM PST Hey guys, Just bought a OnePlus 8 Pro. Everything has been going well until I tried to game on it. The first thing I noticed was that the footsteps were inverted. It could not have been the headphones since I use a Razer Kraken which means the mic is on the left. I am infuriated because I would need to connect my 8 Pro to my capture card first to hear the correct sound direction. Could it be the dongle? Should I only use the OnePlus 3.5mm adapter or are there any 3.5mm adapter you guys can recommend for the phone? Thank you in advance for the responses! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Pictures and screenshots cant be opened om Windows photo viewer Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:20 AM PST When I mail a screenshot from my oneplus 5t to myself or anyone else they cant be opened in Windows Photo Viewer. This also happens to photos that I have cropped or rotated in the phone before sending them. If I send photos without doing anything to them they can be opened. Windows Photo Viewer says it cant display the photo due to lack of memory on the computer, which surely isnt the problem. Anyone got a fix? Yes I could write to everyone to open the pictures in other programs but that isnt really a fix. [link] [comments]  |
