Losing charge while being charged Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:38 PM PST Was using my note 4 while plugged in and noticed the battery % was dropping while the status bar battery showed the charge icon. I tried a different cable, wall outlet, adapter and battery. They still would not charge. I turned my phone off and tried charging it while off and the battery % still declined. Is it safe to say the port is faulty even though it is still registering the cable being connected? [link] [comments] |

My phone won't recognize the aux cord in my car. Posted: 03 Nov 2020 01:07 PM PST I've tried updating and restarting, using different cables and messing with settings. I can use headphones and bluetooth just fine. The aux cord works with my computer and nintendo switch so I think it's software related but I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:27 PM PST Think I'm getting my girlfriend a new phone this Christmas. What's the best $200 spent? I'm leaning towards the pixel 3xl. I owned a pixel 3 previously and loved it. Will probably end up being a little over 200 but that's fine. [link] [comments] |

Speaker Only Works When Pressed Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:26 PM PST I have an LG Aristo 3 (recieved in July 2020). I usually use my bluetooth headphones, but noticed today my phone's speaker (the normal media/ringtone speaker) doesn't work unless i apply pressure to it. I know for a fact it was working last night. -The phone call speaker (near the top works) but still works, but I can't put the call into speaker mode. -My Bluetooth speakers/headphones works fine. -Haven't checked the audio jack since i don't have anything to plug into it atm. Need help trouble shooting for possible fixes (yes I've already restarted the phone, and I've turned bluetooth off.) [link] [comments] |
What is a pen icon next to contact name in the messages app Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:11 PM PST So most of the people I message don't have contacts (i like it that way) and while I was texting a friend she suddenly got a name which isn't her actual name and then got this little one next to her name. I tried making her a contact and deleting it but it doesn't do anything. I also tried restoring my contacts but nothing. Can someone help? [link] [comments] |
Camera not opening/ crashing on my OnePlus 8T Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:52 PM PST I bought 8t last week. But my camera app is showing black screen and then crashing after some sec. Camera isn't working in other apps also like snapchat, GPay, Whatsapp. Its also shows "camera in use" whenever i try to turn on flash light. 1: I'd already wipe data & cache, twice. 2: I'd visited oneplus care center. In care center/service they said its not mobile or hardware issue. But its Android 11 issue. They said that's this issue is bcos of Android 11 isn't fully developed yet for oneplus 8t. And I'm still facing that issue. [link] [comments] |
Bluetooth device I can buy that simply automatically connects/disconnects? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:08 PM PST Trying to develop an Android app that detects if I'm connected to a certain bluetooth device at home, so the app can tell if I'm at home or not and do appropriate tasks. But, I can't find a device at my home that does this. I don't want to connect to it for calls/audio, I just want it to connect when I'm in range, and disconnect when I'm not. Is there any simple bluetooth device that can do this, that I can possibly buy on Amazon or something? I've tried my desktop PC and my raspberry PI PC, but it keeps assuming it wants audio, which is not what I want. Also, they just disconnect randomly so Bluetooth Auto Connect keeps giving me annoying notifications saying it couldn't connect. TL;DR: I just want a simple USB bluetooth device I can buy that I can pair to my phone that will automatically connect when in range. [link] [comments] |

Phone battery discharges rapidly during slow charging Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:33 PM PST At this point I dont really know what to do. I have an Asus Zenfone 5 Live. While i charge it, occasionally slow charging kicks on. When it does this the battery discharges at an insane rate, lasting only 4-5 minutes from 100% if on, and discharging at a slightly reduced rate when off. Nothing gets hot, but it is really annoying to wake up to a dead phone or to be playing a game and it just wont charge. I also posted thus on the tech support subreddit if you want more info, but for now this is my post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Zach [link] [comments] |
What is the best camera app that I can use so my phone can be used as a pc webcam? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:23 PM PST I'm looking for something that works well. I have heard stuff about how droid cam causes BSOD when uninstalling. Is this true? If so, I'm probably looking for something else. [link] [comments] |

RID PHONE OF CORPORATE SPYWARE? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 05:10 PM PST I have spyware on my android phone ... it was installed via the wifi/bluetooth at my workplace. Extremely unprofessional petty people have access to my texts, pictures, everything. A sympathetic coworker, who dates one of the security guards, clued me in after months of really bizarre comments by the security team referencing very private texts and pictures that are on my phone. What legal recourse do I have? They have had access to my BANKING information. They weren't accessing my phone for security reasons ... they did it for gossiping, snooping and pervert reasons. I did a factory reset Friday ... went back into work Monday, and the sly comments referencing EXACTLY what I had texted about over the weekend, began. These are not decent people, they are playing mind games and have access into my LIFE. How do I get rid of this spyware? I bought a new phone 3 weeks ago ... It cost $500, I cannot just go buy another. I now turn my phone off a mile from work and leave it in my car, but it they are already installed and utilize a keylogger. Is my only recourse to have any privacy is to get a prepaid burner type of phone and make calls/use texts on that only? [link] [comments] |
Sending text/picture/video messages between two off-network devices. Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:53 PM PST Having an issue trying to find out if something like this exists. I went through google and some forums and can't find the information I'm needing. Without having to explain all the little details of why I'm needing this here's my question: is it possible for two smart phones without SIM cards to send messages (text, pictures and videos) between each other over wifi? Both devices would be on the same wifi network/same house just neither one will have actual cell service. I'm trying to find a program/app for this but can't find one without issues. Either it's made to send things to a cellphone with service when you don't have service yourself, or they can only be used for strictly text based messages. [link] [comments] |

Recently downloaded apps not appearing in "All Apps" folder [Samsung Galaxy S9] Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:37 PM PST So a few days ago I was looking for an app I recently downloaded on my Samsung Galaxy S9 that I haven't yet placed on my home screen. Naturally, to find the app, I swiped up on my home screen to open my "all apps" folder. However, after searching through every page, I couldn't find it, strange right? In order to locate it, I had to either use the search bar at the top of the "all apps" folder to find it, or go into the system settings itself and navigate to the "Apps" setting in the phone to pull up the master list. After counting the apps in my swipe-up-from-home-screen apps folder, I only ended up with about 110, but my system settings and storage say I have 278 apps downloaded. Yes, I am aware of the system apps and how they don't appear in the apps folder, but I shouldn't have 150+ system apps. Additionally, I can see apps I need in my system settings but not in the apps folder. I've restarted my device several times with no avail - I am at a loss. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Clicked a notification, what the heck just happened to my phone? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:15 AM PST So I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Security patch level: September 1, 2020. I checked my notifications as I do every morning. One of the notifications looked like a spam email and said something like "Very important message". I went to expand the notification to reveal the delete button but I must've clicked the notification by accident because what happened next was that I got a bunch of notifications. Like those grey unobstructive boxes that appear at the bottom half of your screen then goes away on its own after a second or two. I freaked out and immediately restarted my phone by holding the power button. I only remember that one of the grey notification boxes said something like "write permission denied". What just happened to my phone? Is there anything I should do or investigate? Update: I factory resetted my phone. I think I clicked that notification at around 9:20 AM. I noticed there was a Google backup at around 7:30 AM this morning so I just restored that. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Nov 2020 03:38 AM PST Hi, I just got an S20FE and I was wondering if there is a way I can change the lockscreen so that it will show both clock and media controls at the same time. I was also wondering if there is a way to move the media controller so it isn't in the top left of the screen. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
