Hey Linux people, which password manager works okay for you?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 01:36 AM PDT

The title pretty much sums it up. I've been torn on which one to pick. Thought about free version of nordpass and lastpass seems popular, but what do ya'll think?

    Dual monitor in Kubuntu

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 12:48 PM PDT

I installed Kubuntu along side windows 10. I have both of my screen connected but they are just duplicated.

How do I set up a primary monitor and a extended one? I've tried to set up my main monitor as primary and enabled the second one but this doesn't seem to work.

Also why my taskbar randomly disappeared?

    Thanks.

    i3-Gaps and DE

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 11:34 AM PDT

hey guys, I've been using linux for about 5 years, and I felt like switching to i3, so far I've used plasmas and gnome, and now I have a fundamental question for you what tools can replace me DE? After all, sometimes it is faster and easier for me to click everything than to sit in a terminal. The most important tools for me are power manger, session manager, some blocking of the screen with logging in, language and graphic settings + Brightness settings. I want a stabile, and fast computer. Someone can help? Distro : Arch PS: I dont want install xfce or lxqd bcs i want have only one window manager

Incredibly small text on any windows title bar, system date/time bar

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 07:35 AM PDT

I'm running a HTPC with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, connected to a 1920x1080p TV. Graphics are supplied by a EVGA GT 730 running nvidia metadriver package 450. Recently, font size in various parts of the OS has decided to be incredibly small after booting into the OS.

If I go into Accessibility settings and toggle Large Text on/off, font size returns to normal. Definitely some sort of bug here. Anyone have experience with this sort of behavior?

Using a USB stick as a live boot and main drive

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 04:03 AM PDT

Never done it before and just wanted to know if I gutted my computer of all its current drives and only plug in the usb stick if it would still work as a normal computer (minus the speeds of hdd/ssd)?

    Computer has gaming rig specs

Is it possible? If so, which distro is recommended?

So I installed Ubuntu on my old laptop a few days ago from ubuntu.com and 9/10 start up to a black screen where I can see my cursor and I can type (I typed in my password and a few minutes later the monitor light up and I am at my home screen).

It is a ASUS UL30VT laptop,

    Intel Core 2 SU7300 1.4GHz

    Integrated graphic + Nvidia G210m

    Never connected to internet

    Never connected to 2nd monitor

What CLI tools do you use in your daily work?

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 05:37 AM PDT

Dual booted win 10 and mint. Then tried putting pop os on my ssd too, and it doesn’t show the grub booter anymore

    Posted: 30 Sep 2020 05:35 AM PDT

The title. I tried deleting the partition pop os was on, and restarting my computer, but then it launched grub rescue. I'm on the pop os live usb because I have to get work done today. I don't have a second flash drive to write mint onto, should I just use an old laptop to Write mint onto the usb I'm using? Will it be easy to get grub working again, and is there an easy way to tri boot?

Update I got it to boot into mint, but the boot loader still doesn't pop up, so I can't get into win10 yet
