I cannot block unknown callers because my work often requires that I pickup calls that I don't know the number yet. However, with so many bot calls recently, it has become a problem. Also, they often call me when I'm asleep and I don't want to put my phone on silent, since a family member or something can call me, or whatever. I use the Samsung spam detector from Hiya, but they just inform you that the caller might be a fraud/spam, they don't actually block the call or anything. Any ideas are welcome. | Trying to record footage of Android games on my PC Posted: 30 Sep 2020 07:06 PM PDT I'm a game reviewer on Youtube, and I want to record footage (in 30 minute increments) of a few mobile games. I have already attempted to use at least seven different Android emulators (including Bluestacks), and all of them have weird problems. Most of them require me to edit my PC's BIOS which sounds extremely sketchy to me. Some don't let me access my already-purchased games from the Play Store, and all but one of them are very laggy. The one exception had screwed up controls and my character wouldn't stop walking down-right. I gave up trying to emulate Android and decided to try Screencasting. I used a few different apps (including Airdroid) trying to stream my Android screen to my PC. I had to enable USB debugging in the developer options at one point. There was no audio in any of my attempts, not even in the one rare instance where I got it to stream without lag. One recommendation I got was to simply plug my phone into my PC using a Micro-USB to HDMI cable, but the Amazon Q&A seems to suggest my phone would only work with a smart tv, and not a PC. | Pixel will only charge if connected to PC; can't get past 1% battery life tho Posted: 30 Sep 2020 06:45 PM PDT I have a Pixel 3a XL and haven't had any issues until today when it suddenly wouldn't recognize the USB. I've tried different cables and outlets to no avail. It won't even vibrate when I connect the phone to the USB. The closest I've been able to get to charging is to connect to my Mac and it will at least recognize that it's plugged in. After about 2 hours it got up to 1% and booted up, then died pretty quickly. Now it will charge briefly but stop and show the low battery icon before it can get past 0%. Any ideas as to what the issue could be? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 30 Sep 2020 06:35 PM PDT I've tested multiple USB3 cables to make sure it wasn't just faulty, but whenever I'm USB tethering my Windows 10 devices, they get horrible speeds compared to the device itself. Is this a known issue on Android or is there something I'm missing on the Windows side? | Posted: 30 Sep 2020 05:00 PM PDT So I have a question/issue with downloading Brawhalla. Two devices are concerned: a Galaxy S6 2015 (phone) and a Galaxy Tab A 2016 (tablet). The phone runs on Android 7 and the tablet on Android 8.1.0. Despite being newer and running on the newer operating system, the tablet cannot download Brawhalla from the play store while the phone can. Cannot as in it says "app is not compatible with your device." So I tried bypassing the play store by trying to manually installing Brawlhalla. I tried both using an .xapk file and a .apk file. Both did not install with the error message of "Installation failed." I have tried seeing if there are software updates for the tablet to no avail. I've tried different apps for installing the xapk and apk files. I want to avoid rooting the tablet. I'm eyeing the S20FE because of the high refresh rate and basically no compromises experience. I've heard the Pixel 5 will also be a midrange priced phone, so I'm wondering if it is worth it to wait? Reason being, I usually prefer Pixel phones for the stock experience, I've had poor experience with Samsung One UI in the past. I had a Note 9 and battery life was pretty bad, UI was choppy and after only 4 months of use. Swapped it for a OnePlus 6T and it fixed all those problems, even with a smaller battery capacity. Are these issues with Samsungs UI fixed? My friend has the Note 20 Ultra and the animations and UI look so smooth. I can't do anything. I can't turn it back on, can't hang up, nothing. I have to wait for the receiver from the other side to hang up, or else my phone won't be able to do ANYTHING. As the title says, i'm having some serious issues with my LG K50s I bought the phone like about 2 months ago, brand new, it worked just fine without any problems that i can recall and aside from a couple of scratches here and there, i never even once dropped it or hit it. One day, without any apparent cause the phone just stopped connecting to the mobile network, it sort of half-reads the SIM* and the IMEI was simply not showing neither i could obtain it via the dial method. IMEI is simply not available. Obviously i can't make any sort of calls (Haven't tried calling emergency numbers) *What i mean by "Half-Read" the SIM is that while i could not connect to mobile networks, when i connected to Wi-Fi i could still receive messages through Whatsapp, whether or not is this related to my problem i have no idea. Lastly, the phone does randomly connect from time to time to mobile networks but it just last some seconds and it goes off the grid again All of these symptoms are still present, the rest of the phone as far as I've realized is working A-OK, that i all i can tell as far as my technical problem goes, i honestly do not know what to do.... I already tried doing a Factory Reset to no avail... Just one more thing
