Is someone asking you for your IMEI or PCBA number? Read this Posted: 26 Aug 2020 07:19 AM PDT There are a number of people on this subreddit who mass PM others to get their IMEI and PCBA number so they can either get a free emote for Fortnite for themselves or re-sell the code online. Don't let these scammers profit off you! Please report them Here's a list of repeat offenders. These individuals are most likely collecting keys to resell them. Please do not interact with them in any way. We'll update this list as reports come in. DO NOT give any stranger your IMEI or PCBA numbers. Ever. Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:54 AM PDT I mean sure I get that OnePlus is not what it used to be. But it's not like it's a bad thing. Before the phones were fast at a low price, and that's it. Now they cost more, but are more refined product, with a pretty decent camera, battery life, and amazing looking displays.(I've got a 7 pro, and I can't get enough of it) In comparison to a samsung note 10+, which my dad has, the OP is consistently faster, takes almost the same quality of pictures, charges faster, battery lasts longer. And that's compared to a phone twice the price. [link] [comments] |
1+8 Pro Screen repair by OnePlus Posted: 29 Aug 2020 12:36 PM PDT OnePlus support screwed up trying to repair my screen. I send it in because of a crack that went worse and they charge me for this defective product 288 Euro. Furthermore there's something loose in the phone when slightly shaking it and its not the camera with OIS. I requested a new repair which hopefully will be without any costs and a perfect screen. For whatever reason they changed the battery as well. According to them there was an abnormal charging notification. Never saw that one but who knows. Maybe they messed something up while repairing it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:03 PM PDT I just got his phone today coming lightly used and having come from a Moto g6 play with 3gb of ram with a 425 Snapdragon, this 8 GB of ram, 835 Snapdragon phone is literal heaven to my fingertips. I'm not sure if I can really do justice on why this phone is so good, but damn it, even if the new OnePluses are bad, the 6 (8gb of ram model) is literal heaven. To hopefully many more years lol. Used 7 Pro (GM1915) converted to GM1917 firmware on AT&T? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 03:21 PM PDT If I were to buy a used GM1915 7 Pro that had its firmware upgraded to the global version, GM1917, would I be able to use it on AT&T without any issues? I may need to buy a dual sim card, correct? [link] [comments] |
2 week old 7t. ringer switch sticking... Posted: 29 Aug 2020 03:04 PM PDT Is this normal? The phone is in pristine condition, but out of the blue, the switch is incredibly difficult to move between the 3 different ring styles. Has anyone else come across this? [link] [comments] |
My OP6 just completely factory reset itself without prompting. What should I do? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 01:23 PM PDT This is gonna be a long one, and I'm currently extremely pissed at my phone, so I'm sorry if I come off as harsh or rude. I don't mean to be. My OP6 which I got 3 yrs ago now, just up and started rebooting itself constantly a few days back. Today however, it restarted itself and just wiped itself. I've got no clue why or how, but it did. I've lost the vast majority of my photos and am now stuck with an unrooted stock OP6. Is there any way for me to try and recover my old photos? I had no recent backups and I checked for Google photos or Drive backups to no avail. Oh also, emojis don't work anymore for some reason, and because I'm not rooted, I can't do anything about. I also can't root my phone because the charging port is borked to the point that it can't transfer data through there and can't fast charge FML Edit: Should I just get a new phone? It doesn't fast charge, the back is kinda cracked, and it's doing all this poopoo garbage. Is there any hope of recuperating my losses here? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 06:20 PM PDT Hi everyone, I am here for some advices on which phone to buy, conflicted between Oneplus 7, 7pro and the Nord. I wanted to go for Oneplus as a friend of mine own the 6 and I've always been impressed by it (though it's easy to be impressed by anything when you've own a second hand Huawei p9 lite for 3 years). I thought I'd check this sub before investing my money and I've been seeing quite a few negative post about Oneplus (scam voucher promotion, Facebook bloatware, etc). So now I'm not too sure anymore, Oneplus or Pixel ? Any advice would be more than welcome. [link] [comments] |
Zoom and Meet crashing in Work Profiles in OxygenOS 10.0.12 (7T) Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:19 PM PDT FYI, if you need to use Zoom or Google Meet in a Work profile DO NOT upgrade to OxygenOS 10.0.12. Many people are reporting that the apps crash and will not run, but only in work profiles. https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/zoom-meeting-work-profile-app-crashing-after-update.1275062/ Also, with 10.0.12 many people can no longer enter a password in recovery mode, making recovery mode useless. How wil OnePlus come back after the Nord? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 05:14 PM PDT I have been thinking about how OnePlus is coming back from the Nord how will they sell the OP 9. Are we going back to the time where we get flagship specs and not overpriced items or not? I want to hear your thoughts on this subject. [link] [comments] |
[Help] Debloating my OnePlus Nord / Substituting Google Apps Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:38 PM PDT Hi there, I just got my first OnePlus (Nord 128Gb) and I'm really happy with the device, performance and the specs overall, but, I was hoping for it to not contain so much of Googles apps in it. After some research I found I could remove these apps (some unnecessary for, some I simply don't like), using the ADB Shell commands. I would to know if there are some other safe items (that will not make the phone crash) of the full list of packages I could still remove. The items I removed are on the list bellow and substituted with other like, for the SMS I preferred to use Signal. Any addition to the list is welcome, and if possible, a description of what this app was doing. Is the oneplus 7 pro 5G eligible for the open betas? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:43 PM PDT I have the sprint oneplus 7 pro 5g converted to the EU version as was curious if I could opt into the open beta. TIA! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:12 PM PDT Apple lifetime user here. I switched to the OnePlus 7t a few months ago and I love it. The one big feature that I'm missing (because I need to read so much for my masters) is the ability to have Siri read the iphone screen for you. Two fingers down and Siri knows to read only the book on the screen (from Kindle or any PDF reader/book reader). I've tried some accessibility features but I don't want my phone to think I'm blind and read everything. I just want to have my phone read the book/document for me in an effortless way. Can you do this on the OnePlus phone? [link] [comments] |
How to permanently pin apps to ram on OnePlus 8? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:38 PM PDT The Samsung S20 has a feature to pin apps to ram permanently. I have heard that this feature is available on OnePlus phones but I can't find it. [link] [comments] |
Does the 7t pro really not connect to 5g Wi-Fi? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 06:23 PM PDT Title. I saw it in a video just now. I just bought a 7t probfrome oneplus, but if it can't connect to 5ghz Wi-Fi that feels like a deal breaker. How is anyone okay with this? [link] [comments] |
Still on the may security patch, is it normal ? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:51 PM PDT OnePlus 7T Pro, bought it from OnePlus day 1. Is it normal ? Last time I was 2 months late on the normal patch, but now we're almost in september and I'm still on the may patch. Anyone in the same situation? [link] [comments] |
OPO - A bad battery or a faulty charging cable? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:08 PM PDT Skip to the more relevant part at the bottom if you want This was my first smartphone. I only bought it because it was about time for me to buy a new phone back in 2014 and my classmate already owned one. I set up a paypal account and got an invite link from my classmate for the opo. I opted for the 64gb sandstone version. Classmate even helped me out in the start with a rom upgrade that even allowed me to change the color of notification lights. Since then I didn't bother following any smartphone fiascos because I didn't have to. The phone worked flawlessly. 2 years ago I felt like battery was getting a bit sluggish so I replaced it and had no problems with the phone since. Well, until now... About 4 months ago the phone got stuck in bootloop somehow and I decided to flash new version of rom. It worked fine for about 2 months. Then I started noticing significant battery degradation. Phone would be charged overnight and be dead in 10 hours of just pure standby time. Then the charging started to become scuffed. When you plugged in the charger, the charging light would flash a bit and after a while stay turned on indicating that the phone is charging. And now here are the problems I'm dealing with for the past week... ------------------------- The important part ------------------------- - When plugging in the charger, the notification light starts repidly turning on and off. That is coupled with the sound of when you start charging the phone. This goes on for about 30 seconds. Then it stabilizes. If I use the phone while it is charging it sometimes just stops charging and starts charging again as if I had pulled the cord out and put it back in. (tried multiple chargers, same thing everywhere) - After overnight charging, the phone lasts for very short time. We're talking about 10 minutes here. Sometimes it can go multiple hours on standby but restarts when woken up. It is then stuck in bootloop for a minute and then stops. If an app that requires more "juice" to work is launched, the phone is likely to restart and go into bootloop until it stops. So for the past week I've been researching phones and it made me realize how awesome the OPO is/was. My brother told me I should give it a try at a local phone repair shop but I am hesitant. I have a glimmer of hope that it is a bad battery or the charging port/cable is faulty. I sincerely hope it can be fixed cuz there is a sea of phones out there and I just don't know which would I even buy. [link] [comments] |

Oneplus support horrible experience... Posted: 29 Aug 2020 03:56 AM PDT Here's the last email I sent OnePlus after being ignored repeatedly, it explains the bs that I've been having to deal with over the past few months, I love OnePlus and their phones but after this experience, I'm going to go with another company. You can call me a Karen for writing this email or whatever, but it's been over a month only getting a response via email every 2 weeks or so, I had to purchase a burner phone to use because it's taking so long. I wrote this after being passed around and dropped by 5 associates on their chat feature, eventually after 4 hours being told I'd receive a response via email soon. When I first sent my phone out, the agent assured me if have it back within a week. Almost two months later and I have my phone back except without functioning cameras or a flash. Hello, No matter what I do I can't seem to get help, everyone keeps blaming me for something I didn't do. To the best of my knowledge the phone was never water damaged, it never showed signs of water damage, everything worked fine. I had an issue with dead pixels and screen burn in that, according to the agent, was covered under warranty. I sent my phone in and then 1-2 weeks later got an invoice for 280$ saying I had to pay for my screen repair because of water damage. I sent multiple emails over the next 2 weeks asking what the problem was. I know my phone has never been water damaged, or anywhere near water for that fact so I wanted clarification. I would have no problem paying 280$ if I had actually broken my phone, but this was not the case so I kept trying to reach someone on the support team so I could talk about the repair. No response so I let the automatic timer run out, because I thought to myself "I guess i'll have my phone back" (assuming it would have the same dead pixels and burn in) it comes back to me with a broken camera (something which was not even referenced in the invoice for damage) For Christ's sake I have a saved photo of the label from the day I shipped the phone out, and the metadata gives the time and place! I've tried resetting and clearing cache. I've tried factory rests and updates. I've been a long time OnePlus customer and I've spent over 5000$ with the company, my entire family has OnePlus phones. I feel as if I'm being exploited for money. My emails keep getting ignored and the service reps keep leaving me. I'm sick of being treated like this when I'm part of the "family" as you guys call it. I feel like I'm being scammed out of money. I hope we can resolve this, because I love OnePlus phones, but from what I've experienced over the past month the after sales support is atrocious. I've now had to buy a burner phone as this repair process has taken almost 2 months. Please help me here, I feel helpless and I shouldn't with how long I've been with OP Matt I'm incredibly angry to say the least, if any of you have ideas as to what I could do. If OnePlus doesn't take care of this I'll probably sell the phone or try to repair it myself. After this whole experience, I don't think I'll be choosing OnePlus next time I need to upgrade because this whole debockle has me super stressed. I have a lot of personal things going on in my life right now, everything is hectic and having a burner phone that freezes every 1.6 seconds isn't helpful. Edit: Spelling and stuff... Is the Chrome freeze bug resolved (on the Dev version)? Posted: 29 Aug 2020 02:37 AM PDT Forgive me if i am late to the party, but i haven't seen mention of it anywhere, but i use Google Chrome Dev and for the last day or so, i haven't had it happen once yet. And i used to get it every other page change on some sites, and now it doesn't seem to happen at all. Can anyone confirm? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Aug 2020 04:48 PM PDT I just bought a 7 pro 5 days ago and I've been regretting it ever since. The curved screen display is awful and the phone doesn't even have a setting to turn it off. There isn't even a return policy in India so I guess I'm stuck with it. Watching any standard 16:9 ratio video is just weird and I'm not gonna get used to it. [link] [comments] |
