I switched to iOS about 11 years ago because of a previous employer. With the release of the Pixel 4a, I am thinking of moving back to Android. Here's the catch: I have about 11 years worth of pictures and videos up in iCloud. What's the best way to transfer everything off of iCloud and into Android? | Suggestions for a budget Android phone? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 07:56 PM PDT I'm looking to buy a phone for my mother's birthday to replace her old Samsung, something around 200 euros. I don't want a Huawei for Google-reasons and I'm not sure about Xiaomi. So far I found these:

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:29 AM PDT I'm debating between pixel 4a and one plus Nord as there's a great deal for Indian version of Nord. It has 765g which should be fast for at least two years but I like Pixel's look better. Is pixel going to show its age by this time in 2021? My Moto x4 with 630 chip is plenty fast for daily activities but you can see the chip's age in frame rates even though I've used the phone for only an year. I just need 4a to stay smooth for an year and half. Can pixel 4a pull it off? [link] [comments]  |

| Google clock spotify has a limited library Posted: 31 Aug 2020 08:06 PM PDT I had no idea I could use spotify as an alarm since my phone didnt come with Google clock. As I go through and set the alarm, I select spotify and then go to look at what I have to choose from. I get "recent" "podcasts" ect.. but no option to just continue to listen to the podcast I'm currently on. I've searched specifically for it and it's not there. It's also downloaded. | Need help locating and deleting an APK file Posted: 31 Aug 2020 06:11 PM PDT When I run the file master app I see a "videmate apk" file which i believe was an app installed on an old phone . When I select the file using the file master app under the clean option it isn't able to delete it. I can only think that this apk worked its way on to my new phone via a memory card. I have ran a few security apps and none of which flagged it as an issue, or perhaps they just didn't notice the file ? Either way I would like to remove this videmate apk . | Phone freezes with SIM card in, works perfectly without Posted: 31 Aug 2020 05:54 PM PDT I have had a Moto E5 Cruise for a while now. Worked great, until I went on a camping trip. I had it on Poweramp and I used System UI Tuner to put it in immersive mode, and I left it in the car and it died. Boot it up later, mobile data is gone. Not even I'm out of reception, it's just gone. I go in settings, all mobile data stuff is grayed out. Not even a "no service" it's just poof Calls don't work, LTE doesn't work. Get into reception area, still nothing. After reboots, the time goes weird and sets itself to something completely different. Wi-Fi works perfectly, though. Factory reset did nothing. Online, it said it's what happens when you try to flash an AT&T ROM to it, and sure enough, after a factory reset, there were AT&T apps next to the cricket ones, but here's the kicker: I had never done anything even close to that. Oddly enough, flashing the default Motorola ROM worked, and mobile data was back. Reboot, and the phone just stays on the lock screen, black. You can't touch anything, the back, home, and tab button don't work when you tap them, no animation, and pressing the power button just turns the screen off but you can't turn it back on. Occasionally, the boot-up animation will "stutter" and the phone works for a short while, until freezing up again, same symptoms as the home screen. Yet, when I remove the SIM card, it works perfectly. No freezing, no stuttering. It's perfect.... except for the no mobile data part. But the second I reboot it with the SIM card in, it won't work. I'm so close to smashing it with a sledgehammer. Nothing has worked. Factory reset, reboot, recovery mode clear cache. No results. What do I do next? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 31 Aug 2020 04:20 PM PDT i got a vm for android 9 so i could play among us with my friends without dropping 5 bucks on steam for it, but Whenever i try to launch a game on my virtual machine (virtualbox running android 9) it immediately says "among us has stopped working." i've allocated more ram and the max amount of Vram to it and it still isn't working. I think some let you do it manually within the app, but I mean just when you tap the volume buttons on the side, such as when your screen is off and you're just listening to music. About 5 mins later I heard a sound like a fork dropping on a plate through my phone I wasn't playing a video or anything I was just texting my GF and I thought it was my imagination until I heard the sound again. So I deleted fortnite and the sound stopped but how do I know someone isn't still listening to me on my phone? Posted: 31 Aug 2020 03:09 PM PDT Hi, I have disabled, uninstalled, and turned off auto updating for YouTube in the Google play store, but somehow the app keeps re-enabling itself and auto opening after a few days from disabling it. I have done this dozens of times. No matter what I try it re-enable's itself every time, even though I have told Android to select my browser app for videos/music and NOT the YouTube one. Is this Google trying to force the app on users? Or is there a way I can permanently disable the app from re-enabling itself? I have done everything in the App Settings and Google play store. My phone is the Moto G7 Power from Visible, but I had this same issue on my previous phone with Red Pocket. [link] [comments]  |
