    Automatic brightness changes on QLED TV's

    I'm writing this post to share my settings how I got rid off the automatic brightness calabration on Samsung QLED TV's.

    A few months ago I bought the Q70R (to be exact QE49Q70R) Samsung QLED TV. At the beginning I was really amazed how wonderful series and movies looked like - especially on 4K resolution. But after I started watching more often, I realized how the TV began to calabrate the brightness by itself. This happend for instance when:

    • I was watching dark scenes
    • I was watching scenes with subtitles (not only Netflix, literally everywhere
    • I was navigating through the Samsung TV menu

    I'm a bit of a picky person, so this automatic calabration really annoyed me. I googled and tried literally every suggestion I found.

    • I went into the Service menu to set the PWM to 100 - didn't help
    • I played arround with the TV settings (setting Local Dimming to Low, turn off Eco mode etc.) - didn't help
    • Changing the HDMI source to PC or Gaming - didn't help
    • Looking for the Local Dimming setting in Samsung Service menu - wasn't even there to turn if off
    • Called even Samsung Support to ask them for an advice - they prettended they heard the first time of this issue and that they opened an internal ticket to fix this in the next software update... Ye, sure

    So, I was really frustrated and disappointed how a high tech TV like this from Samsung can cause me this headaches.One day, I saw a comment in a youtube video:

    Turn on Game mode

    And indeed - after I turned on Game mode, I noticed that the local dimming and automatic brightness were gone. But the video settings were still not good for my eyes, so I spent a lot of time (not to mention multiple days) to create for myself the perfect picture. To help other persons out there which are experiencing the same frustation like me.

    !!! IMPORTANT TO MENTION !!!

    By enabling the Game mode, the Auto Motion Plus & Digital Clean View settings are disabled! Unfortunately, there is no way to have Game Mode & Auto Motion together. However, a few TV's have Game Motion Plus - check it under General -> External Device Manager -> Game Mode Settings

    Here are my settings (under Expert Settings):

    Picture Mode: Game, Backlight: 30, Brightness: 0, Contrast: 45, Sharpness: 10, Colour: 35, Tint (G/R): 0, Local Dimming: Low, Contrast Enhancer: Off, Colour Tone: Standard, Gamma: BT.1886, BT.1886: 0, Colour Space Settings: Native

    Under General:

    Turn off Intelligent Mode Setting

    Under General -> External Device Manager -> Game Mode Settings:

    Game Enhancer: Off, Dynamic Black Equalizer: 0

    Under General -> Eco Solution:

    Ambient Light Detection: Off, Energy Saving Mode: Off, Auto Power Off: Off (as you wish - doesn't have an effect on the picture itself)

    I hope I could save somebodys day with this post. Please let me know if it was useful for you or share your settings.

    Alright so, my Samsung is having some problems such as apps flicker all over the screen. It started without a warning out of nowhere. Could anyone help?

    I'm really interested in VR. I also don't want to pay 500 dollars. I saw a local deal for a Samsung Gear VR 2 for $20. I looked it up and realized it's not an amazing deal, you can get them just as cheap on eBay but it is still something I'd want to try out. My questions is, is it worth it to get this? I'd be using it with an S7 or am S9. I understand the product is discontinued but will I still be able to use it?

    Note 10+ Fast charge with 25w charger takes 1hr and 45 mins to fill up.

    Im using the included 25w charger and cable but it seems to take too long. I have tested the charger with another phone and it worked perfectly.

    Every review and charging test I have seen has the Note 10+ at about 1hr fully charged. Is there something wrong with my phone here?

    Unable to resume playback on Pocket Cast with Airpods

    So I just recently switched from my iPhone to the S20 plus (wow, this phone is fantastic), and I paired my AirPods with the phone, and everything works great. However, the one thing that I've noticed which I'm not sure if it is from Pocket Casts or not, but when I pause my podcast, I can't resume it unless I unlock the phone and do it that way. Am I missing something? Or is this like a weird quirk of Android?

    Any ideas? Got a new 2020 Peugeot partner van, Android auto won't mirror link to the dash screen? Anybody have any experience of this or is it a Google issue?

    A71 Issues?

    Before i do any serious actions i need to figure out do i have a defective unit or is it a normal issue that will be fixed in a patch? The problem is a stopping speaker the just cuts off every sound and just ends up being pure silent

    S20 earphones

    Just bought an S20, the earphones that come with it are horrible. I want to use my custom moulded ones. I bought a C-TYPE to Audio jack connector. "The connected USB device isn't supported" -- I'm pretty ticked off right now.

    Galaxy store wants me to update the 8 pool app, it was installed without me ever doing so and now that i uninstalled when i try to "update all" it asks me for permission to download it again. I never installed the app, is it base software? Am i supposed to have it?
