| Need help restoring off a .bak file? Posted: 29 Jul 2020 08:25 PM PDT Edit! Fixed it. For anyone in the future, or just me again on a later date. B4tman's (on piratebay) cracked 10.0 version worked, got my files recovered without too much trouble. Any help is super appreciated ;;; I had to reset my galaxy s9+ in a rush, and in that rush took the suggestion I was given of "just backup using some free software", huge mistake on my part. Chose Dr. Fone. Backing up the entirety of my phone went fine! Went through the reset process, fixed my issues, and surprise! "Please pay this 33$ subscription to restore!", gives you a free trial option, which refuses to work. It did give me access to the entire .bak file though, and i'm hoping that accessable somehow. If anyone has any solution, or a program that ACTUALLY works with a free trial (or free), I could really use it!! I read a few forums, but nothing seems to give solid solutions. So I was checking the developer options when I came accross bluetooth version settings. I was surprised to see that it defaulted to 1.4 when 1.5 and 1.6 was available. Why does it do that? No software update, no modification, nothing. It was working perfectly, I restarted phone and it won't start again. I can access via ADB while it stays in bootloop. I exported logcat. I'll upload if it may help. As much as I remember, I had "Allow OEM Unlock" enabled. I tried to flash TWRP via Odin in Download mode, but it fails. | Moto G7 system storage problem Posted: 29 Jul 2020 07:41 PM PDT So I have a weird problem, earlier my phone had 20+gigs of unknown images (i then found out the problem and deleted it all) and i for a few minutes had 20+ gig of free memeory out of the less then a gig i had orginally... then suddenly my system storage started rising and was rising non stop, it in about a hour went from somewhere about 20 gigs to 42 gigs and now takes up nearly all the storage on my phone and its lagging it out as while ive managed to clear a few gigs (used to be 47 gigs) it might be rising still help! i dont know how to make it go back down! i cleared a bunch of caches (its why its not longer at 47 gigs) and you cant clear system cache it seems... EDIT: I may have may have figured out the problem, ive been trying to install a game from a APK and when i click it nothing happens but apprenlty its "shadow installing" as im going to call it and its installing every time i click it but i have no acess to it and its not showing up on my phone (its a app i know i can trust and nothing sketchy dont worry) [link] [comments]  |

It had about 50% battery, I put it in my pocket, and when I brought it out it would not turn on, the screen was black. I plugged it into the charger, and it wouldn't turn on. I tried holding the power button for about 1-2 minutes, and holding the power and volume simultaneously for a solid minute, and nothing happened. I really cannot afford to replace it, and I have data on there that I can't lose. I plugged it into my computer and it's not recognizing it, does anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

I found that I can open it with VLC but I still cant open it by opening the file itself, I need to open it through VLC. Can this be fixed? | Posted: 29 Jul 2020 11:18 AM PDT Hi - I have a standard Moto G6, unrooted, running Pie 9 (security patched to 01 Apr 2020) in the UK. Periodically the phone is either freezing or shutting down. It's unresponsive to buttons or touch, doesn't wake when plugged on charge or connected as a USB device. I have to hold the power button down for a while until it starts or reboots, and then it's fine for a week or two. Never happens while being used, and doesn't seem to follow any pattern. I put it down somewhere, and next time I try to use it I discover it's dead. No demanding gaming or whatever, I can't imagine it's overheating. I did a factory reset but it's continuing. I've checked memory status but there's no obvious leak or hole. I guess it's probably a rogue app, but diagnosis by trial and error would take months. I need a function (within settings or as an app) which can provide a recoverable system event log, eg what was happening in the seconds before the OS crashed. Would really appreciate any suggestions. | Why does my version of Spotify have so many weird notification channel settings? Posted: 29 Jul 2020 04:56 PM PDT Rooted LG v40, possibly relevant I'm on the version where they brought back the queue button. My problem with this is the issue I encountered on my rooted LG with an older than normal version of pie. Also, with magisk I've installed a ton of audio plugins. Without going into detail, my phone's Spotify started skipping songs randomly and tons of crazy stuff like that. I fixed it by restarting my phone and also maybe by creating an Automate rule to clear Google's cache every twenty seconds. I would prefer to not use my computer but I'm having a lot of trouble. I've tried about all the "recovery" apps and none of them from what I've seen, have been able to recover the videos I've lost. I looked into rooting my device, but all the apps and softwares I used didn't do anything that helped me recover my videos. | Weird Samsung Keyboard Issue. It Does Not Learn Numbers. Posted: 29 Jul 2020 04:02 PM PDT Hey. I've gotten a Samsung A30s on Android 10. My previous phone was an LG G5. The keyboard on the LG had an underrated feature. It would learn and remember almost every number combination I typed frequently. If I was going to type an 11-digit account number that it had learned I would just type the first 2 or 3 digits and the keyboard would predict the 11-digit number for me to choose alongside other choices. I found the feature really helpful as I would just have to teach the keyboard a number I would input frequently, such as a phone or account number on just the first occasion and it would predict it. Now, onto the Samsung A30s, the keyboard lacks this feature. I have to type numbers fully each time into the keyboard. It is a PITA. Have any among you found this infuriating as well? And what have you done to remedy it? I have just tried out GBoard and it seems to be lacking this feature as well. [link] [comments]  |
| Pixel 3 XL upscaling screenshots? Posted: 29 Jul 2020 03:45 PM PDT I don't have a Pixel 3 XL but my friend does and he's too lazy to post here. According to the internet, the thing has a resolution of 1440x2960. He says that his built in screenshot tool, when you take a straight screenshot without cropping the field, comes out to that resolution. His built in screenshot tool apparently has the function where you can limit the capture field before saving the screenshot (like a pre-cropping). And for some reason, when he uses that function, the resultant image has a resolution higher than 1440x2960. For example, taking a screenshot of a tweet on his feed, by selecting the capture field and then saving the screenshot, he got something like 2048 (height) x 1814 (width). The screenshot tool on his Pixel 3 XL is adding information to captured screenshots when using the pre-crop tool, something that negates the purpose of screenshotting imo. He googled it but said he couldn't find anything on the issue. Does anyone else know anything about this? Seems really weird to me. [link] [comments]  |
| Random battery usage by Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides Posted: 29 Jul 2020 03:37 PM PDT Does anyone else have Docs, Sheets, and Slides pop up randomly in their battery usage? Recently I've noticed when checking my battery usage that these apps are randomly using battery, it's always at 1% and happens at least once a week. When I look at the info it doesn't say it's from active or background use either just "out of total app usage". For me Docs usually shows up on its own, while Sheets and Slides pop up together either the day after or before. I've tried force quitting them but they just restart on those random days. This seemed to only start after my phone last updated, along with google play services now showing up too but that is more explainable as from what I know it is always being used for phone functions. Posted: 29 Jul 2020 07:23 AM PDT I own an old Snapdragon 626 phone, the scrolling is not smooth eg scrolling down web search result or Reddit posts. Thinking of upgrading to a SD 730, but then in OnePlus Nord press videos show the reason they're releasing a mid range phone now that mid range SD chips finally is able to give an acceptable user experience showing smooth and fast scrolling. Nord is using 765G, suggesting that to get a smooth scrolling experience one must aim for this chip or one with higher spec. | No YouTube video quality option (Pixel) Posted: 29 Jul 2020 02:12 PM PDT I've noticed in the last month or two on the YT app that some videos don't allow me to change the quality and are set to a very low level (looks like 240p or something like that). These are videos that most definitely have better quality so what's going on here? It seems like a bug to me. Has anyone else experienced this?
