Oneplus Repair and support is the absolute worst Posted: 24 Jun 2020 05:46 AM PDT So here is a customer service experience that demonstrates how awful and innept OnePlus customer service, how the customer service reps don't listen to any requests no matter how many differrent reps talked to about the same thing, and how how long and backed up the repair center is. So my OnePlus 7 Pro had it's back glass crack and I decided to have it repaired. I have insurance but the deductible would be $150 and that would be a refurb unit that I didn't know the condition of the battery. But I decided to give OnePlus support a try. From my rough estimate, a repair plus a battery swap would be right about $100 so I decided to do that because that would effectively make it a brand new phone. From day one, I made it clear I wanted the back glass and battery swapped. OnePlus service center in Fort Worth received my phone on June10th. ALl I received was a message saying the service center had received the device and it would take a while for someone to look at it. Issue Description: The back glass on my phone is cracked. I want to get it repaired. Also, I want to get the battery replaced at the same time while it is being repaired." After about 6 days with no update besides phone received, I contacted OnePlus support via email. They said there was no update but would escalate to a supervisor within 24-48 hour. I ended up getting a nothing reply back a few days later. On a day when I was available to chat with a live agent online, I contacted OnePlus again. The agent agent continuously apologized but it was clear he probably didn't know too much English. This is something all the agents I talked to demonstrated, that they didn't know much English, that they were trained on a few pity phrases that make me sick. " I request you to kindly bear with us at this time. If you do have any other concerns or queries, please do revert back to us so that we may assist you further. " " I completely understand what you mean name." "I do hope you bear with us at this time." These same sentiments were repeated very similar by all agents, just way too apologetic and it made my stomach feel sick. When I finally recieved a folllow up from the supervisor, it was just to say that there was no update and to wait. So I did. 3 days later, on June 24th, I recieved another quote. Once again, it was just the back glass on the phone and not the battery. The agents 24-48 hour window had expired the day before so I guess they is the customer service OnePlus delivers. No communication. No actual customer service, just saved phrased copied and pasted to feign empathy while getting absolutely 0 done and no actual customer support, all while wasting the customers time and money. While all this was going on, I had a beated, busted LG G4 that was trash so I bought a $200 Samsung A20S because I couldn't stand the long, indefinite wait. In the end, I ended up paying the charge to get the back glass repaired because I am tired of waiting. I HAVE SETTLED FOR A POOR REPAIR EXPERIENCE. I HAVE SETTLED! In the future, I will never send my device to OnePlus directly ever. I will pay more for my phones insurance deductible, or just buy the parts myself and do the repairs myself. I just want my damn phone back, dammit. [link] [comments]

Auto Brightness Solution - OP7Pro Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:33 AM PDT To everyone who hates auto-brightness, because it never sets the correct levels in every situation. THERE IS A SOLUTION There's an app called Velis Auto Brighiness This app will run in the background with minimal battery requirements and control all the brightness features on your phone and do it accurately. I've been using it since someone suggested using it in the XDA forums. Make sure too turn off the One Plus autobrightness when using it. This app is customizable with several profiles to choose from or you can just let it run out the box like I do. I know this has been a contentious issue with OnePlus devices, but this was the only solution I've seen that works perfectly. [link] [comments]
Android 10 Update still not showing up? 5T Canada Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:57 PM PDT Android 10 has been out nearly a month and I have yet to receive the notification to upgrade. I have a 5T and I'm located in Canada if that helps. Anyone else experiencing the same? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:07 PM PDT I know we make a huge part of this community. First World residents will never understand how and why One Plus is a "premium" brand for us and how much we appreciate One Plus devices, having immense respect for their establishment in India. As much as it saddens me; I know a majority of us are starting to boycott quality Chinese products as part of our battle against the Chinese government. What is your take on it and what does the future hold of One Plus as a brand? [link] [comments]

How do i view hdr content on my OP 7t Pro? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 10:07 AM PDT I have played hdr content on yt and prime video and it looks amazing. For other downloaded media, i use vlc media player. For the first time i found a new movie in 2160p hdr print but the colours look all washed out, like the contrast has been decreased. When i pause and go to the recent apps menu, the colour normalise but playing the movie makes everything look washed out. What settings do i gotta flicker with to make pirated hdr work on vlc? Edit: Figured it out. To anyone facing the same situation, open the vlc app, go to settings and disable hardware acceleration Edit2: 30 minutes into the movie and vlc alone has eaten up 15% of the battery and the phone is hot [link] [comments]
The new OP5T android 10 update just disappeared Posted: 24 Jun 2020 10:13 AM PDT So I received the new Android 10 update a few days ago. After look through some reviews, I thought "Nah, maybe later". All this time I had an icon of the new update. I clicked on it, it took me to the update page, but there is no update. Did anyone have this? [link] [comments]
Considering switch from Pixel 2 XL, what should I know? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 04:07 PM PDT Like the title says ... The Pixel is my only experience with an Android phone and I LOVED it. Are all Android experiences pretty much the same? Do the updates come slower? What will I like more about a OnePlus 8? What won't I like? [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 04:58 PM PDT I just ordered a 7 Pro off of the OnePlus website and when I completed the checkout and payment it said the payment wouldn't go through or something of that nature. I was using my mother's debit card as I was having her pay for it until I get paid in 2 days. She checked her account right after and it subtracted the money from her account, but also added it right back immediately. Could it be because I put my name on the billing address? Or maybe Wells Fargo denied the transaction for some reason? [link] [comments]
OnePlus 8 680 eur vs Samsung S20 (no 5g) 740 eur Posted: 24 Jun 2020 02:23 PM PDT Hey, I watched a lot of reviews on op8 and already ordered it from amazon. But now, I noticed that Samsung's S20 price has dropped to 740 eur and I am wondering if I should send back my op8 to purchase S20 instead. We are talking simpliest op8 with 8gb ram and 128gb storage and s20 no 5g and Exynos 990. I know that Exynos is worse but does it make the whole s20 worse than op8? Many would say that S20 camera is better but when I saw comparisons it was pretty close and some photos were better by op8. My current phone is huawei p9 and I have heard that oxygen os is better than samsung's. Is it worth to send back op8 and trade it for the s20? [link] [comments]
A connection to the server could not be established (PS Android App) Posted: 24 Jun 2020 01:50 PM PDT Hi! Trying to login to my PSN Account on my OnePlus 8 Pro, but keep getting the "A connection to the server could not be established" error. Anyone else experienced this and know how to get through it? Tried using two different mobile connections as well as wifi with no luck... seems to work just fine on my old Note 9 as well as my computer... both using the same wifi as I attempted to use with the OnePlus [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2020 03:59 PM PDT I'm currently looking for a new phone and the oneplus 7t is the one that caught me eye more than other phones. How does it work in 2020? Is it worth it? Are there better alternatives under 600€? The only thing that stopped from buying the op7t is the dimensions of the display. It is huge! But I've heard that the whole device is kinda stretched in a way that it makes it easier to use. Is it true? [link] [comments]
Looking for a OnePlus 8 case that covers the charge port Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:58 PM PDT Currently running the OP5 with a case that doesn't cover the charge port. This worked for a very long time and I've thoroughly enjoyed my phone, but it's getting difficult to make the phone recognize the charging cable and now I have to force it in and struggle before the phone will charge. Other than that and the battery life going down, the phone is still good. But I'm thinking about upgrading to a OP8. I'm thinking my charging woes come from me spending lots of time in dusty and nasty environments (due to work) and I'd like to think that a case that would cover my charge port would assist with that. Back when I had an iPhone and then a Galaxy, I used the Otterbox Defender cases which would cover the charge ports, but then flip open when you needed to charge. I'm looking for something like this, but I've yet to find a case for OnePlus that does this. Does anyone have any suggestions? [link] [comments]
Snapchat issues after firmware update (Oxygen 10.3.3) Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:27 PM PDT https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BT9qX6dt2Ab7fICu-jAmUFf2ZJr5xb3Z/view?usp=drivesdk Look at my wall in the background to get a good representation of the issue. Issue with 6T and using VOIP while in gaming mode Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:25 PM PDT I was wondering if someone on here could offer me some help. I was initially drawn to the 6T due to the gaming mode. I play a lot of Pokemon Go and was constantly having to decline calls or close out Facebook messenger chat heads that popped up mid raid so prioritizing pop-ups and send calls immediately to speaker were a godsend. With Covid going on my raid group tried out Discord voice chat tonight since text chat had some issues. I was in the call but as long as PoGo was running I couldn't hear anybody. If I exited out of PoGo I could hear just fine. This would lead me to believe that game mode is keeping the discord VOIP from overlapping my game. Anyone know a way to "whitelist" discord so I can participate in the chat or do I have to just disable game mode? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Wifi hotspot? (not LTE hotspot) Posted: 24 Jun 2020 12:21 PM PDT Hi, so our internet provider has a bit of an error with the wifi. We have 'wifi' in our house, and it works, just that all computers and tablets even though they're connected can't load stuff, but our smartphones work perfectly on the wifi. This happened before. So, to sum up, wifi doesn't work on tablets and computers, but phones do work. So now I'm asking is there a way to convert your oneplus phone, into a wifi hotspot? Because our phines work perfectly fine on the wifi. So what I want to achieve is, my phone is connected to the wifi, and pass that signal from the phone through to my iPad, like a hotspot? (And not a 4G hotspot, a wifi hotspot). It has to be possible, because my brothers Honor phone can do this perfectly fine. Thanks [link] [comments]
Notification sounds unable to play for bluetooth headphones? Posted: 24 Jun 2020 02:07 PM PDT I am currently changing my notification sound but I have a roommate whos trying to sleep so I have to use my headphones. Normally this wouldnt be a problem, but they wont play the notification sound into the headphones. They just play white noise. The ringtone worked fine. Am I the only one or is this just how it is?
