Posted: 03 Jun 2020 11:28 AM PDT Hi guys, In the past, I've been able to go onto my Lenovo laptop's main account area and update my pin/password to log onto my laptop. Today, I went on and when I click update/change, it's saying "Password Change Not Available At This Time". I've noticed suspicious activity on my laptop and have suspected a certain person in my life has been tracking my electronics (this is being taken care of) so I'm paranoid there's tracking or hacking malware that they've installed on my laptop. Is this a normal message to get sometimes? Never seen it before myself on my laptop, like I said, and google honestly isn't even popping up with info for me. Help? [link] [comments]

New monitor is being recognized, but without display Posted: 03 Jun 2020 09:45 AM PDT Installing a ThinkCentre TIO24Gen3 and I hear the computer recognize the monitor, but it's not displaying anything. I followed the instructions in the manual (http://imgur.com/gallery/0au3QKp) but it still doesn't show any display at all. It says it's a TIO24Gen3 in the device manager, but still nothing. PC will freeze for under a second and create a buzzing sound Posted: 03 Jun 2020 07:17 AM PDT Heya guys! I'm really trying to find out a solution towards why my pc does this. Normally when I'm playing games and sometimes rarely while watching youtube or any other activity, my pc will freeze for under a second and the audio will create a buzzing sound, sorta similar to whenever your pc BSOD's with audio playing. My Specs: B450M DS3H Mobo RX 570 Vengeance DDR4 (2x8) Kingston SSD 240GB (Main Drive) 1TB Barracuda HDD Ryzen 5 2600 I've tried many solutions towards to trying to resolve this problem but it still persists. E.g. Resetting my pc but keeping my local files Uninstalling and reinstalling my graphic driver Ran Memtest (Came back with no problems) [link] [comments]
Desktop Shutdown Despite Being Connected to Battery Backup - Need help identifying root cause Posted: 03 Jun 2020 09:07 AM PDT Hi All, Trying to figure out why my computer randomly shutdown. At the time that my desktop shutdown I had probably 50+ chrome tabs open, some word docs, excel, and steam open. I was attempting to print a document from word when it shut down, but I don't know if it was just a coincidence. The interesting thing was that all 4 of my monitors shutoff like they lost power. (all 4 are connected to my desktop - 3 via dvi, 1 via hdmi, but one is connected to my work laptop as well - connected to desktop via dvi - connected to laptop via hdmi, and it was serving as my laptop's second screen at the time) Event viewer (Event ID 41) says "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly". I am trying to troubleshoot further, but not 100% sure what/where else to look to figure it out. Event viewer does say some updates were trying to install in the background but again not sure if it is related. Any advice or recommendations on what/where to look would be greatly appreciated. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 06:40 PM PDT So for the past week my pretty old desktop that ive made acouple changes to has really quickly slowed down, and along with that it has trouble displaying to acouple of monitors and now only works hooking up to a tv for some reason. Acouple games i play are slowed to an extent that they are unplayable, and along with that it occasionally has trouble turning on, i have to power cycle it just to get it to work again, id i dont then there is no display and im not even sure if the computer is considered on. Usually im alot more tech savvy but this is my first time with a possibly failing computer, if anyone could id really appreciate it. Update: my computer has developed digital snow on the screen, it stays until i restart the computer and its progressively gotten worse. It last night it was whole screen had a few white pixels across it, this morning it had white swirls across the screen. [link] [comments]
Windows Pc stuck at 91% for several hours during this latest update. Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:43 PM PDT I usually am the helper duder here, or at least I try to be. Now I'm the OP. Took several hours to get to this point, longest update I've ever had to deal with. My gut says to just keep waiting. Is it safe to hard reboot and try again? Should I just let it keep going? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Jun 2020 04:06 PM PDT So. I got a weird issue. I recently swapped chassi on my pc. I switched from the Define R5 to a Lian Li PC-O11 Razer Edition. Everything worked well the same day as i switched chassi, in the old and new chassi. However! The day after when i went to turn on my PC, it didn't turn on. That problem solved itself easly as it was the 24-pin that had jumped out. Worked for 1 boot. But now, the PC won't boot. The CPU_LED and DRAM lights up, with the CPU_LED turning red for like a millisecond and the DRAM blinking orange for almost a whole second. And then it goes into boot phase, dies and doesn't start. Sometimes when I try to boot for around 10 times, it works. And it still flashes but it boots up with no issues. I can play for as long as i want, not dying on me etc. But as soon and i turn it off, the problem persists. And i seriously have no clue what the issue is. No bent pins on the CPU. Ram swapped and put in different slots. I'm getting really annoyed by this but I can't seem to find out why this happens. Any clues boys? PC SPECS: CPU: Intel Core i7 7700k Kaby Lake GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6GB RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 (2x8) PSU: Corsair RM850X HDD: Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM x 2 NVMe: Samsung 960 Evo 250GB MOBO: ASUS Prime Z270-A [link] [comments]
