Say I've personal account name 'A' and created another user account 'B' for sign in on my android device for work for MDM. 1) Is my company able to access my 'A' account data? 2) If my company route all communication from the 'B', can they implement on 'A' as well? 3) is data in the device for user A having risk should B installed risk app? | Changing phone carriers and Pixel 3a is locked from new SIM card Posted: 01 May 2020 01:25 PM PDT I bought my phone directly from Google through a trade-in program about a year ago and set it up immediately with Verizon. This month, I tried to switch my phone line to T Mobile, but when I put in the new T-mobile SIM card, I get an error message saying "SIM card isn't supported. Ask Verizon if this device can be unlocked." I've spoken to T Mobile, Verizon, and Google. Here is what each said: T mobile: When they put out the request for Verizon to transfer my phone line, it should automatically unlock my phone. If it's not working, I should contact Verizon. Verizon Agent #1: When you get the phone from Google and set it up with Verizon, Verizon then locks the phone (something about after x number of days). Directed me to another Verizon help line. Verizon Agent #2: Verizon doesn't lock phones unless it has been reported missing/stolen or if there's a payment due. Since neither of those were true, the agent said I should contact the retailer I bought my phone from, which is the Google Store. Google: Help agent tried a couple different solutions: Solution 1 - turn on Developer option to enable "OEM unlocking." When I tried this, the OEM unlock option was disabled/grayed out with the message "Unavailable on carrier-locked devices". Solution 2 - Factory reset. This didn't work. He finally told me to contact Verizon because my phone says it is "carrier-locked". Before I pull my hair out talking to another agent, does anyone have any idea what is going on and how I can unlock my phone? Appreciate any help. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

When I'm watching YouTube videos, the video pauses and plays randomly, sometimes it goes to the next video without having to touch the screen. Then it activates Google Assistant, even when I didn't say "Hey Google" or "OK Google", and randomly shifts the phone volume up to max or sometimes it shifts down. It does this occasionally. I have disabled Google Assistant and it still wants to activate. I've tried to shutdown my phone and wait for a while to turn it back on, but it still does this occasionally. I thought that someone is trying to listen in by activating Google Assistant. Is my phone actually hacked? Or is it something else? [link] [comments]  |
| A question about contact tracing apps and bluetooth exploits Posted: 01 May 2020 04:07 PM PDT My government is promoting voluntary installation of an app called COVIDsafe which uses bluetooth to detect and record details of contact with other bluetooth devices with COVIDsafe app installed. There's a Bluetooth exploit CVE 2020-0022 (Blue Frag) that affects devices on Android 8 and 9 which haven't received February 2020 android security update. Mitigation advice is to set Bluetooth to non discoverable and avoid unnecessary use. Phone manufacturers are not known for timely security updates so a substantial number of Android Devices in my country might be currently unpatched. Does anyone know if this type of app will function as intended with Bluetooth set to non discoverable? At least then it could be used more securely by unpatched Android devices. I would like to ask the developers directly but they're not listed on playstore or govt sites that I could find. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 02 May 2020 01:23 AM PDT I just noticed a lot of my pictures and movies are gone, from internal storage (I don't have an SD card in the phone at all). I see that there is a lot of software but they all either want money, or need your phone rooted to work, and I do not want to try that and make things worse. Here's the weird thing that might be related - I had two "photos" that were gray empty thumbnail things for the longest time, and I just deleted them the other day. Some of my missing files were definitely around before I did that, in the past few months, so MAYBE that had something to do with something. Grasping at straws a little, I know, but if there was some sort of corruption in the file system and deleting those files took down the rest (or maybe they WERE all these files, mushed into two weird fake pictures)...who knows... Are there any other options to look for pictures that have gone missing, that don't involve using software from God knows where and/or rooting the phone? I've searched around in the File explorer to no avail, I tried DiskDigger or whatever but that again needs a rooted phone to search more (not even sure if they want money too to do that). Also there is no recycle bin in the Media viewer, since I don't have it set to sync to Samsung, apparently it must only show up if you do that. Does anyone know if Sprint can help with that without it being rooted? Assuming I can even find an open store to get help at right now. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| Samsung update removed access to hidden albums? Posted: 01 May 2020 02:17 PM PDT My Samsung A20e had a software update last night. Since then, my hidden albums are inaccessible. When I go onto gallery and hide/unhide albums, they aren't even listed there as an option to unhide. If I go into the attachments option on whataspp, the files are still there as an option to send/share. So they must still exist in the phone. I just can't access them myself through the gallery. Any ideas how to unhide the albums so I can get my stuff back? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 01 May 2020 10:22 AM PDT Past few days my phone has been taking a while to charge and then drains quite fast. I was thinking the battery was originally just starting to get bad, but this wasnt a gradual thing, it just started happening all of a sudden. I go under the battery usage and there isn't anything major that has been using up my battery life, nor does the total percentage even get close to how much I've lost. I let my phone sit over night not being charged when it was around 85%, in the morning (8 and a half hours later) my phone was at 65%. Still nothing in the battery usage could explain why the big loss. I've read a few articles, and I've delete apps, restricted background use and disabled apps I dont use or dont need. I've even switched up chargers and adapters and some of them charge faster, but doesnt really hold any better battery life. I dont want to factory reset my phone, although I will if I have to in cause of a bug or something. How can I fix or at least help this? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 01 May 2020 10:36 AM PDT Hi all, I wanted to set a pattern password for my phone so I dont always have to use my fingerprint on the back. I set the pattern and locked the phone to try it. To my horror, the pattern dont work and it phone stays locked. I forgot the pattern! I can still access the phone (I'm typing on it now) because I have my password and prints saved, however I really wanted the pattern to work :( would mean I can answer msgs without picking the phone up on my desk. I was looking for an application that will email me a notification every 3 minutes, as the unit has wifi. | Screen recording with no color Posted: 01 May 2020 11:12 AM PDT I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, android version 8.1.0. and no matter what screen recording app i use, screen recordings always turn out grey, without color. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? I tried several different screen recording apps, rebooting my phone, force stopping the apps, clearing data... Nothing works.
