Vibration/Haptics on the OP8 and OP7 are vastly underutilized Posted: 05 May 2020 11:49 PM PDT OnePlus has started putting really nice vibration motors on their phones, but they aren't being fully used. Vibrations/haptic feedback that's missing: I did some digging and found out that they're not working because OnePlus didn't implement Android 10's HapticFeedbackConstants API completely. By doing so, they're crippling the potential of this great motor. [link] [comments]
Just had contact with support for the second time about screen issues. Posted: 06 May 2020 07:40 AM PDT The answer I got: "If the update didn't work and if disabling DC Dimming didn't work, then so be it." So basically it's "fuck you and your expensive phone with screen problems that are way worse than previous generations." They refuse to accept that the majority of the community is having these problems. I never knew OP was so shitty with customer support. Never ordering this soon in the launch ever again. You've damaged my trust in you, OP. Shame. EDIT: I'm hopefully waiting for OnePlus to bring us the update. r/alocalgolfer pointed out a tweet to me, there is info there that wasn't given by support in my country. That being said, if I was a dick to you, sorry. Let's hope everything goes according to plan. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 03:51 PM PDT Besides all the screen issues on the device. I just pushed my device really hard today. I started off with 100% and I had the resolution set to QHD and 120hz. I got around 6 hours and 2 minutes of SoT when on 2%. I was also outside most of the time so my brightness was maxed out. I am really impressed with this battery life on this device. Hopefully OnePlus fixes these display issues. [link] [comments]

Charging port keeps disconnecting. Good indicator for needing an upgrade? Posted: 06 May 2020 08:56 PM PDT I've had my OnePlus 5t since it's release. It's been an amazing phone that's been with me for 2 deployments and many TDYs. But recently, the phones charging port has been having a hard time keeping connected. I've swapped out cables, cleaned the connections, etc. The thing I worry about is with it constantly disconnecting and connecting, how that affects the phone itself. Is it doing more harm with it doing that. Or should I just get an upgrade and not worry about it [link] [comments]
Not receiving SMS on Verizon (OP 6t) Posted: 06 May 2020 08:44 PM PDT My phone makes calls and sends texts just fine, just won't receive them. Using default messaging app too. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 06:17 PM PDT Hey all, Just looking for any suggestions for a specific apk and/or settings for gcam for my OnePlus 7t. [link] [comments]
Just bought a 7T Pro. Whenever I ask google to turn on lights it just searches for it Posted: 06 May 2020 06:02 PM PDT Hey guys, coming from ios I am trying to make google turn on/pff my sonoff. I have successfully added it to my google account but when I use google assistant it just searches for the phrase I use and nevee does an action. Is anyone else experiencing this? Posted: 06 May 2020 04:47 AM PDT So after a long wait I finally got my replacement device today. Here's the date schedule I had with the whole replacement procedure.
After quickly inspecting the phone for any damage, I started to set it up as usual, before checking for any problems with the display. After finishing the setup I installed the latest update which is 10.5.6.IN11BA at the time of writing in the UK. The install finished, rebooted and tested the display with the static grey image going around in this sub and also with the display tester app. The display shows an extremely small problem with the uniformity, but way better than my old OP5 and the first OP8Pro. No green tint is present visible to my eyes. A very slightly visible black bar sadly is still present at the camera cutout going towards the right of the device, but it's only visible in absolute darkness and around a 5% brightness range somewhere between 10% and 20%. Switching to 60Hz make it disappear completely. I tested the display in a completely black room with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz enabled. Also tried DC dimming to see what effect it has and it fixes the issue with the uniformity, but with crushing blacks, so you physically cannot see the uniformity anymore. The manufacturing date is almost the same like my old one. 30.03.2020 and the QC number is: 0305N At the end, the very slight uniformity problem and the black bar is not enough for me to send it back this time. If this turns out to be a problem later on, both of these problems are covered under the 2-year warranty, and should be fixed free of charge. I'll keep this post updated if I notice anything else and what happens with the latest software updates. [link] [comments]
OnePlus 8 storage and USB speeds Posted: 06 May 2020 09:13 AM PDT I just tested USB speeds with a cheep Amazon cable, got 350 MBps, the practical limit of USB 3.1 gen 1, this phone is amazing In storage benchmark I get 490 MBps sequential write (4MB) and 975 MBps sequential write (4MB) Wow! Availability of the Oneplus Wireless Charger? Posted: 06 May 2020 02:05 PM PDT Has anyone actually gotten their hands on the product? It's been out of stock pretty much everywhere for several weeks, I ordered it like 3 weeks ago, got an text from the store I ordered it saying they would get it in stock in a couple of days, never did. And I'm still waiting lol [link] [comments]

What's your guys prediction for when the next OS update will come for the 8 pro? Posted: 06 May 2020 02:04 PM PDT I just hope they can provide a update that fixes the tint issues but then again u can't trust a multi billion dollar company with its bandage patches. I'm thinking the next update will come in a week [link] [comments]
OnePlus 7 Po Lockscreen Media Controls Posted: 06 May 2020 10:45 AM PDT Is there a way to show Media Controls to Play or Pause media on the Lockscreen? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 09:01 PM PDT Like the title says, just curious for opinions? I've watched and read a bunch of reviews and as far as performance goes they seem pretty evenly matched. Cameras are the biggest selling point for me and so far it seems like the Pixel takes better stills, but what about video? The OnePlus has better sensors but the Pixel has the neural core chip 🤔 Anyone have experience with Gcam on the 8? Any improvement? [link] [comments]
New version of OP diagnostic app. Works for me on 7P Posted: 06 May 2020 10:20 AM PDT Just to let you know, I have my 7P since launch and my battery is at 90%. I barely use Warp and I always keep the phone between 20-80%. Also, the Diagnostic app shows the same battery healt as AccuBattery. I was always wondering how accurate this really is. How about you guys? What are your scores compared to AccuBattery, if you are using it? [link] [comments]
OnePlus 8 Pro case and screen protector Posted: 06 May 2020 01:11 PM PDT So i know the pro comes with them both in the box but that case looks a tad....lacking in the protection department does anyone have suggestions that can be got on amazon at this time or is the one in the box plenty until some more pop up? Also is there a screen protector installed already or should i nab one while im at it? I know 2 comes in the box but are they worth a darn or nah? [link] [comments]
Lack of first party accessories for the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro Posted: 06 May 2020 12:04 PM PDT After getting my OP 8 Pro, I wanted to see what accessories OnePlus had available for it. When I got to the page I was shocked to see that there was a huge lack of accessories for both the 8 and 8 Pro. Only three cases for the 8 and two for the 8 Pro. No screen protectors, barely any customization options for cases, and they were more listings for 7T accessories than there were for the 8 series. The regular 8 even had more sandstone case colors than the 8 Pro. Why did OnePlus do this? [link] [comments]
Oneplus 8 Pro US At&t 5g not yet functional Posted: 06 May 2020 07:09 PM PDT I own a oneplus 8 Pro and when I go into settings and click on sim and network card it shows 2g/3g/4g but not 5g. I contacted support today and that was because oneplus has not currently activated 5g on att in the us. They said that they will fix this over ota update. [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 07:16 AM PDT I've started to notice some stutter while playing games or watching videos on YouTube. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm using 120hz on QHD+, of that matters [link] [comments]
When do good cases come out for the OP8? Thoughts? Posted: 06 May 2020 06:09 PM PDT I need something that actually protects especially because of the job I have currently. I have heard nothing but bad things about the OnePlus cases themselves and very few other cases even available. I have only been recommended one that is decent from Amazon. Should I do a screen protector as well or does it mess with the fingerprint reader in the screen? Thoughts from the sub? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 May 2020 01:47 PM PDT Quick preface: I've been with Oneplus since the beginning (but only 2 phones), and since my OP3 had an unfortunate confrontation with the floor, I'm back on my Oneplus One which quite desperately needs an upgrade. I've been waiting patiently for the release of the Oneplus 8/Pro given that Oneplus would be my preferred brand, but given the price it eventually released at, the multitude of issues, and lack of availability I'm most likely going to jump ship and go elsewhere. My current favourite is the Realme X50 Pro 5G, which has similar specs at a lower price point. No wireless charging or IP rating is not a problem for me and I prefer the flat screen. If anyone knows anything about this phone or Realme as a brand, can you share? Looking for some down-sides to it to convince me to stick with Oneplus! Alternatively, if anyone's got any other suggestions, feel free to throw them in! [link] [comments]
