    OnePlus Goodbye Apple. Hello OnePlus.

    OnePlus Goodbye Apple. Hello OnePlus.

    Goodbye Apple. Hello OnePlus.

    Posted: 20 May 2020 07:48 AM PDT

I purchased my first iPhone right when smart phones started coming out. Since then, I have only had iPhones. A few weeks ago, I started having this reoccurring thought: How can I confidently keep purchasing iPhones, and justifying their cost, if I have never tried anything else.

Well last week I bought a new OnePlus 7 Pro on OfferUp.

AND THIS IS THE BEST PHONE I'VE EVER OWNED AND ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE. AND IT WAS ONLY $450!

Wow. I'm just blown away by how awesome this phone is. I think it'll take a lot for me to ever go back to Apple at this point.

Also the community here is pretty dope, and I'm glad to be apart. Thanks for having me.

Anyone else get the small update for recent apps on OP7?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 06:19 PM PDT

Just noticed a small update when I open my recent apps. It shows the icons of each app at the bottom, and you can select those apps to quickly access them instead of swiping through the apps. I've had instances before where I apparently don't swipe far enough to go to the next app, and keep landing on the one I'm on. Then after a few attempts, I accidentally fly through all the apps and lose my place. This is a small but welcome update for me!

    It's May 20th. What's the OP8 Pro scoop?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 03:19 PM PDT

Seriously looking for a status on where the 8 Pro stands as of today. Is OP addressing the issues? Any concerns with someone buying the phone NOW? Wondering if OP is putting out more updates that resolve issues, or if updates are not coming forth yet and people are in limbo.

So articles/posts about the initial issues, but what about currently?

So, should I even try to get a replacement for the third time?... "Perfect display everyone btw"...

My older mobile couldn't do lower brightness photo.

The OnePlus 8 Pro I had before had less issues than this one so I'm not even sure what to do.

You can even see the horizontal and vertical lines from the punch hole display normally with lower light and lower brightness at the same time (eg. when I was watching a film while being in bed).

    OnePlus store restock?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 08:23 PM PDT

I know I'm probably trying to pick up a pair of bullet wireless v2's at the worst time because everyone is buying them but does anyone know about how long it takes the OnePlus store to restock on these items when they are out?

    Can't change wallpaper

    Posted: 20 May 2020 05:53 PM PDT

I went to go set my wallpaper to a picture that I took recently and after hitting the check mark to confirm, it just went back to the stock one. I tried multiple photos and tried the oneplus photo gallery and google photos.

    Best GCam for Motion Pictures?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 05:20 PM PDT

    Hi team

Are there any GCam ports that take decent motion pictures? The version I have right now (Urnyx) only takes them for a split second so the motion looks very jarring.

I just moved from the S9+ which took decent length motion pictures so in comparison, the GCam ones are bad.

I'm on a 7T Pro if that helps.

    Thank youuu

Should I upgrade from S8+ to the 7T?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 01:00 PM PDT

I was thinking of buying a good or mint condition 7T of Swappa for around 390-420$. I have T-mobile.

Will this be a good upgrade or should I look at something else?

    Problem with pocket mode?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 04:51 PM PDT

I've been using the 8 pro and so far have been completly satisfied with it. But recently I started having problems with pocket mode. Sometimes the screen goes black and when I try to turn it on it shows the little pocket mode thing for a split second then turns off again. More recently I was in a call in Snapchat and then my phone went black, when it does turning it on I couldn't and got the same pocket mode thing for a split second and it went to sleep again. It was stuck like this and wouldn't budge no matter what I did. Finally my call ended and my phone completly turned off and I had to leave the power button pressed for it to turn back on. Does anybody know what's going on? Haven't found anything useful on Google so far

    New to OnePlus

    Posted: 20 May 2020 04:18 PM PDT

So I just bought a 7 pro. (YAY!!!) Any essentials I should have? If you mention the warp charger, I already got it!

Anyways if you could leave links as to what I should have that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what should I use to swap data to the OP 7 pro?

'F's in chat for everyone who can't buy Oneplus products anymore because it's a "Chinese company".

    Posted: 20 May 2020 05:48 PM PDT

Someone in my family refused a suggestion - "instead of an iPhone, get a Oneplus". The response was, of course, heated. This is not just me, but a lot of folks in my country (India). Anything Chinese, we no want no trouble in the house. Period.

    So what's the right beta?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 05:02 PM PDT

I want to try out the beta as some of the new features I have been reading about seem pretty cool...though there seems to be a million ways to get on the beta and I am confused as to which is the "official" one. The OnePlus site has beta 11 listed, XDA has beta 14, and then there is Google with the Android Q beta. (shouldn't it be Android 11?) So yeah utterly confused...

S10+ planning to switch to op8/8+

    Posted: 20 May 2020 01:08 PM PDT

I've been using Samsung since s8 and my most fav feature is the Knox secure folder. I'm now a s10+ user and I like everything about it except the size. I sometimes feel that this is too big...All the op coming out are also the same size. So I was thinking if 8 or the 8 pro will be a good choice for me to switch?

Also, is there a similar feature like Knox in op?

What’s the RAM on your current OnePlus phone?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 12:49 PM PDT

Trying to see what most people go for in terms of memory. Feel free to comment why you picked the higher or lower RAM option. Is it because of more memory (ROM)? Or just needing better resale value?

Removing Google Assistant from OnePlus 8 Pro

    Posted: 20 May 2020 12:47 PM PDT

    Hey guys!

I'm currently using gestures on my OnePlus 8 Pro which are really cool.

However, swiping from a little bit too low keeps bringing up Google Assistant. I've disabled it entirely but it keeps coming up telling me to set it up. According to online sources you go to Apps - Default - Assistant and uncheck Google.

When I get to the Google option it is checked, but I can't uncheck it. It's not greyed out or anything just clicking it does nothing but tell me what Google Assistant does.

I really hope someone has encountered similar and can help....I absolutely hate Google Assistant, it's pretty much the Bixby of the OnePlus.

Reddit app glitches on 7 Pro

    Posted: 20 May 2020 04:17 PM PDT

Anyone else's reddit app glitchy on their OnePlus? I have a 7 pro and the app will refuse to load anything (despite restarting the phone or redownloading the app). After a few days it works again. I ask here because I assume it isn't an android-wide issue (I had no issues with my previous phone).

Home Gesture and Recent Gestures stops working.

    Posted: 20 May 2020 06:09 AM PDT

I use OP6T, and I have gestures for navigation instead of the bottom bar or simply the buttons. Many times when I'm using my phone, the above mentioned buttons stop working and then just the back gesture works. Then, I have to restart my phone in order to get them to work. It used to happen less before, but now even after restarting the same thing happens. Is anyone experiencing the same and has found a fix?

Questions regarding 7T Pro Vs 8 Pro

    Posted: 20 May 2020 03:17 PM PDT

I recently got an 8 Pro, but sadly had to return it to Amazon due to very bad image retention (highly noticeable after 20-30 seconds of still image). I didn't mind the green tint much, but I couldn't keep it with image retention that bad. It's not just an AMOLED thing, either, as my current and previous (now 4 years old) Galaxy phones never had any such issues.

But I miss it :( I would have done a straight replacement with Amazon but, like most vendors, they're out of stock now. They do, however, have some new 7T Pros in stock, and for £655.

I know the main differences, such as battery, refresh rates and RAM speed etc. What I'm more interested in are the little things: How does the haptic feedback compare? How is the Bluetooth on the 7T Pro? I had some issues with it on the 8 Pro. Is there much or any difference in audio quality via headphones? Is the case with the 7T Pro decent? I really liked the one with the 8 Pro. Any other little touches and differences you've noticed?

And I think most importantly: Does anyone with an 8 Pro not have any image retention? It should be possible to have zero on an AMOLED, I've experienced it first-hand twice (and they're all Samsung panels). I've seen people say "I've got no screen issues, except the camera bar along the top. But it's only at lower brightnesses" but isn't that just image retention/burn from the status bar?

Are there any issues with image retention on the 7T Pro?

Thanks for reading and in advance for any answers. I want in!

Did they take the One Plus 8 Pro off of Amazon?

    Posted: 20 May 2020 06:30 AM PDT

I just noticed that the OnePlus 8 Pro no longer appears on Amazon. Previously it would appear as an option to choose but would show out of stock. Now only the regular 8 version shows. Anyone know anything about this?

Edit: For clarification, I'm talking about the US. Sounds like other countries are still seeing it.

    Just received my 7T today

    Posted: 20 May 2020 12:48 AM PDT

Had a bit of a mishap with USPS being pokey so I finally received the 7T I ordered last week on Sunday.

My thoughts after an entire day of use:

    I LOVE IT

I've previously DD'd a Nexus 6P that I bought brand new. This thing is a life changer and I got it cheaper than I got the 6P for in '15!

I am also in love with warp charge. Gone are the days of killing batteries by charging over night. I went from 50-100% during a single game of call of duty.

I love the notch, and I love the flat screen. Wish OP would make more of these kinds of phones. They look and feel more premium than curved glass and no notch/punch IMO.

Did I also mention the screen? 90Hz was the biggest surprise to me. I game on a 144Hz monitor so I thought I'd be used to it on my phone, but I wasn't! It feels weird having smooth transitions and browsing compared to most phones.

There's a lot of valid complaints about the phone, but for the $$, there really isn't anything else out there that packs this much punch. Too bad that people are starting to catch on :(

After getting my wisdom teeth out today, it was nice to sit down and go over the phone for a few hours. Spent a lot of time going over settings that I'm not used to (6p is still on Android 6.0).

Anyways, I think I'm gonna root the phone tomorrow.
