Posted: 20 May 2020 06:10 PM PDT okay so Ive tried to do this via Microsoft's confusing as hell article so maybe one of you fine ladies and gentlemen can help me. I know my pc has the capability to do Miracast except for the fact i don't have a wifi card. So thats where Miracast over infrastructure comes in. Ive set up port forwarding on port 7250 as the guide instructs (i think it wants me to port forward). And thats about all. Both displays are on the same network and connected to the internet. Any help. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/miracast-over-infrastructure [link] [comments]

How do I get into a computer that has a password and it is no longer obtainable to get the password? Posted: 20 May 2020 11:00 AM PDT My uncle recently passed and he left me a few computers. However they were all password locked. My aunt and cousin do not know the passwords to them and the password hints are just generic things like "June" or "Apple" which were not the passwords. I do not want to completely reset the computer because my aunt wants the pictures off them he has of the family and any important documents off there. These are windows computers and unfortunately my Aunt doesn't have access to his email either to reset the passwords. So does anyone have any clue on how to get into these? [link] [comments]

(Win10) Blue screen of death possibly due to license activation exe Posted: 20 May 2020 04:30 PM PDT Had 3 BSODs in quick succession last night (after years of never having one), the error screen flashed up for not even a second before the screen went black and computer was unresponsive (but sound kept playing in the background.) Linked picture is the only error I could find in event viewer for each crash. Interestingly the 'Activate Windows' watermark has disappeared. It's been about 12 hours and the pc seems stable. Its worth noting that I've never used an activation watermark remover or downloaded any pirated software. Edit: Should probably have linked the image lol https://imgur.com/a/gE6M96i [link] [comments]

JoyPixels (EmojiOne) Emoji Font in Windows 10? Posted: 20 May 2020 12:32 PM PDT Is there a way to change the emoji font face to the JoyPixels version? I like customization so I would like to try something new by using JoyPixels because I think they look pretty nice. [link] [comments]

Cloning Boot Drive to New SSD Questions Posted: 20 May 2020 03:46 PM PDT So, I just ordered a Samsung 970 Evo 1TB M.2, but I currently have a Crucial mx500 500GB SSD that has windows installed on it. This is a pre-built, so it came with windows 10 Pro pre-installed on that drive. My motherboard does have a second SSD slot, and I plan to clone my boot drive onto the new SSD and wipe the old one and continue using it. Here are my questions about that: Will there be any issues with what I plan to do, if I use Samsung's software? Is there anything I should worry about with doing this as far as windows instillation? (any issues with larger drive/not having original license/install disk) I do NOT have the license number or Install Disk for my current version of windows, but I do have a second, 2TB HDD that I can backup certain things to, just in case, if I need to. I just don't know what/if I need to. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 May 2020 11:56 AM PDT Not individual pieces of hardware no, there should be a ID that windows (or your device) creates when all your hardware is put together, google sure ain't helpin so here I am.. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 May 2020 11:54 AM PDT I have installed Windows 95 B on an emulator today, but it doesn't start. Directly after the installation and when I restart the emulated computer, the console opens. It says "Starting Windows 95..." (this is where it starts Windows 95 in a Youtube video I watched), and then "Microsoft(R) Windows 95 (C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1981-1996". I can input into A:\> . Have I installed it correctly? How can I enter the interface? Or, is there another, better subreddit where I can ask this question? Thanks for all replies! [link] [comments]

Unable to download Realtek audio control from the Microsoft store Posted: 20 May 2020 02:56 PM PDT I just purchased a new hp laptop earlier this month. When I tried to find an audio manager for listening to music I found the HP Audio control, which didn't have the environment effects that I liked. I uninstalled it and downloaded the Realtek audio app from the store. I tried everything from uninstalling the driver, updating it, and turning off my firewall so that the app could download. It still will not download and always has this error code: 0x803FB005. Is there any solutions to solve this and how can I download HP audio control again?? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 May 2020 07:17 AM PDT I'm getting fairly frustrated trying to get my keyboard and language setup working. I've had no trouble previously in Windows 7 to have a decent setup, and I don't understand why it would be any different under Windows 10. I want to run Windows with English language. Now, the problem here is I seem to be able to get some of these things, but not all? If I add two keyboard layouts to the English language, I can't switch them with alt+shift, and it always says "ENG" in the language bar (I have to click it to see the keyboard layout in the info popup). If I add Swedish as a second language, the switching works, but then half of my programs start up in Swedish, and regional settings seems to be off. I get 12h clock etc. I feel like I'm going insane, it seems like it should be trivial, but I really don't know what else to try. [link] [comments]

Stuck in "Automatic Repair" loop after cloning drive Posted: 20 May 2020 01:46 PM PDT I have a 2015 ASUS laptop with a 250GB M2 SSD. A few days ago I decided to use Macrium Reflect to clone the M2's data to a 500GB detachable SSD that i had previously just been using as a spare drive for storing videos and things. I created an image of my M2 drive before doing the clone in case something went wrong. However, the clone went well and I was using the 500GB drive just fine for a couple days. During this time I used a program to wipe the M2's data so I could use all of its storage space. That also went well, I was able to use the M2 to store my videos and such on. At one point my PC crashed during regular use but I didn't think much of it as it worked fine before and after. Today, when I booted up my PC, I tried typing in my pin but there was some sort of error saying it could not sign me in. This was odd, so I just shut down my PC and booted it up again. This time, it booted to a blue screen saying "Automatic Repair". From here I tried restarting my PC, but nothing would change. Then I tried to reset my PC and keep the files, but the reset failed. At this point I'm not sure what to do. Basically all my files are safe on an external drive (as long as the Macrium Reflect image works), so I don't mind resetting things back to factory settings if that's the only option. One other thing to note: When I boot into the BIOS, I only see the 500GB drive as a bootable drive. The only other boot options are "Windows Boot Manager" and "Disabled". So I'm a bit worried wiping the M2 might have killed it (even though it had been working fine post-wipe just the other day). Any assistance on getting my PC back in working order would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
