How to set Windows 10 to start with no password or pin?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 07:41 PM PDT

Its just a work computer with nothing on it and has no security risk.

Is there a setting where I can set it to just boot up without asking for any login info?

All previous Windows had this option but I can't find it in "sign in options" in Windows 10.

    Plz help.

Looking for a "pre desktop audio" volume mixer.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 06:39 PM PDT

Ok the title sounds weird please give me a chance to explain before you downvote.

    https://i.imgur.com/nkyperR.png

I'm trying to setup to be a streamer/youtuber. And I would like some kind of software mixing board that would allow me to send the audio signals from the Blue/Purple (chrome and discord on the volume mixer) to my headphones and then send my game audio to Streamlabs as my "desktop audio".

For grinding games/learning speedruns, I want to be able to listen to music/audiobooks during the grind, but I don't want to trip the copyright flags of Twitch/YT/FB.

Does anyone know of a program that'll solve the issue I'm trying to fix? I already have hardware ideas on how to fix, but ideally I'd like a more elegant solution.

(yes I hid my subscribed reddits..... it is like looking at someone else's portal gun history.... we all go to weird places sometimes.)

Unable to play any DX12 game on Ryzen 7, RTX 2060 PC

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 03:07 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

I haven't been able to play any DirectX 12 game on my PC for the past several months. I've tried playing Modern Warfare, Battlefield 1, Battlefield V and Fortnite and they all crash immediately or after several minutes of play. Battlefield and Fortnite work perfectly fine when being played in DirectX 11 however when I switch them to DX12 they never work. I also occasionally get "video scheduler internal error" BSOD. I've tried completely resetting Windows, using a GTX 1660 on my pc instead of the RTX 2060, replacing my power supply, i've turned off X-AMP, i've undercooked my CPU and i've updated my bios and all my drivers. I've contacted Nvidia and after troubleshooting they told me it's a gpu issue, i've contacted Windows and they couldn't help me and I've contacted MSI and they told me they didn't know what the issue was.

    My specs are:

    - Zotac RTX 2060

    - AMD Ryzen 7 2700

    - Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 2400mHz

    - MSI B350M Gaming Pro Motherboard

    - Corsair RM650X Power Supply

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Windows 10 for education: Some settings are managed by your organization

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:15 PM PDT

    Hello,

I have installed Windows 10 for education with a product key that my university provided. After the install I logged in with my personal MS account (this account isn't linked to any organization) and started using the system.

After a while i noticed some of the comupter settings were greyed out and there was a red message on the top saying: "Some settings are managed by your organization". I don't need to use these settings, I just wonder, if this message is caused automatically by using Windows 10 for education or there is something that I did that enabled this "organization management". Also, I can see similar message in Google Chrome (your browser is managed by your organization), I suppose it is caused by the same thing. I would be really grateful for any additional info on this topic. Thanks a ton in advance

Windows 10 Keeps Freezing and Crashing

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:05 PM PDT

After installing a new programme (VMWare Workstation Pro - a virtual computer), my Windows PC keeps crashing. So, I deleted the programme but have found that it would still freeze, and won't unfreeze so I am forced to power it off manually- it usually freezes when watching youtube. I can only get it out of the BSOD restart cycle if I remove the little circular battery and put it in again (CMOS reset). I then rolled the system back, using point restore, to yesterday, when it seemed to work ok, but it still freezes and crashes. Do i need to set up a 'crash dump log'? (ive never done this before).

    Intel 6950x

    GTX 1080 ti

Windows is installed on a 1tb NVME

Edit: Just crashed again after I updated the nvidia drivers. Motherboard reads 'AA'

    I can’t download MP3 files anymore

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 07:00 PM PDT

I was using YouTube and soundcloud to mp3 converters and they worked a few days ago, but now when I try to use them it only downloads as an HTML document and not as an MP3 file. It also doesn't work when I try to "save link as," it still shows up as an HTML document download. Does anyone know how fix this?

Why is the font Courier displayed differently on my Windows compared to my Mac?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 02:22 PM PDT

Hi folks. I had a Macbook Pro for five years. 9 months ago I decided to get a Dell XPS 15. It's great, I love it, but what I found weird was the way Courier looked different on it. Tried with Word, Illustrator, the difference is consistent.

I found that on my Mac it appears a little bit "bolder" and to me it looks like the right one, as a Courier should be. Whereas on my Dell it's so incredibly different, thinner.

    Why?

I also opened on my Dell an old document written on my Mac, and Courier is as my Mac would display it. I really have no idea why it is what is is. Any guesses?

Keyboard layouts being added seemingly randomly

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 10:59 AM PDT

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this kind of question. I use two keyboard layouts - English (UK) and Russian. When I first boot, these are the only two keyboard layouts available. As my usage progresses, an extra two keyboard layouts get added as below:

    https://imgur.com/a/g0S5ofn

It's getting pretty frustrating as it takes multiple Win Key + Spaces to switch between my expected layouts (English and Russian). Is there any way to stop programs from adding new layouts (which is what I'm assuming is happening here)?

Let me know if any more info is needed.

Edit: this has happened on my previous install and on my new one, so I'm guessing its a fairly common problem, and might be related to the specific programs I'm using.

Edit 2: should have mentioned, I'm using Windows 10 Home.

Windows 10 - Undoing changes made to your computer

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:40 PM PDT

So i got an old pc that was running cracked win7 and somehow updated to win10, and i want to reinstall it using the iso file on microsoft website (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO i did it by extract it to a folder and run the setup.exe) but when it is installing it between 20-30ish percent, it is undoing changes, how do i fix it?

EDIT: my pc just booted up and on the installer (setup.exe) it said "We couldn't install windows 10" with error code "0xC1900101 - 0x30004 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during INSTALL_RECOVERY_ENVIRONMENT operation"

    How windows handle tws headsets?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 10:30 AM PDT

TWS (if u got one without major problems) probably the sweetest thing technology gave us in past years Imho. I love how well they work with Android or iOS especially with Bluetooth 5.0 However, I tried my tws on laptop which is ubuntu installed and had Bluetooth 4.0 chipset built in. I don't know if it was ubuntu or the Bluetooth 4.0 chipset but my tws felt like garbage. On my desktop I got windows 10 but unfortunately I don't have Bluetooth adapter, is it worth to buy Bluetooth adapter? If I use a decent Bluetooth adapter how does windows handle it, any connection problems, and most importantly I wonder if windows can detect earphone's mic. The reason why I ask this I find tws more comfortable than anything out there.

    Help regarding cortana

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 12:32 PM PDT

From yesterday Cortana has been constantly eating 1GB of my RAM in the background. I tried disabling it by editing registry. It was disabled too. But then the same thing started happening again. It gets fixed after I restart my laptop, but after 5 minutes it starts in the background again eating that 1GB. My laptop becomes unusable, mouse pointer responses 5-6 seconds later every time it happens since I have 4GB RAM only to begin with.

Any solution would be really helpful. Thank you.

    Audio Issues: Partial Sound

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 03:36 PM PDT

When I open Hulu on Edge the sound only comes from Edge and no other application. Also edge does not have control on sound either. Can't seem to do volume control on edge either; no decrease-increase or mute. If any other browser is playing (Youtube) then get "Audio renderer error" .

    Any advice or suggestion.?

    New user secure uxtheme questions

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 06:45 AM PDT

I was looking around the web and stumbled on secure uxtheme, from what I could find it looks pretty easy to setup but I found two versions. One writes over system files and can cause major issues if it's breaks and another that doesn't but only changes theme not the style.

    • Do both run into issues when running Windows updates? • If so is just make sure you disable the major updates and do everything manually after switching back to the default windows theme?

Working on a batch of photos in Photoshop and undid an action on my desktop by accident deleting the folder creation I was working out of and all contend inside.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 08:42 AM PDT

Hi, I was just working on a batch of photos for the past 11 or so hours and all my progress was lost. I started by creating a folder and slowly worked through my files saving them in the folder. I went back to look over them and accidentally cloned everything in the folder and hit Ctrl+Z to undo a few times. It deleted the whole folder creation and everything inside. I can't redo it, its not in my recyclebin either. What can I do to recover them?

Edit: I recorded a video of me reproducing the bug.

    https://gfycat.com/IncompleteGoodnaturedBlackrhino

    Create a folder

Save a document to then folder from photoshop.

Undo on the desktop and it will delete the folder without warning and all content inside. Redoing will not restore files, just an empty folder.

Do I need to also delete my HDD when reinstalling Windows 10 to an SSD?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 02:01 PM PDT

My PC was acting weird lately so i decided to reinstall Windows 10 using a USB flash drive. I' ve come to the part where it says "Where do you want to install Windows?" and there's a list of drivers and partitions beneath it. I've already erased all of them except my HDD which didn't have the OS before and I won't install the OS there. Do I still need to delete it?
