It's time to vote on our Xiaomi phones for the dbrand teardown skins!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 01:49 AM PST

Hello guys, I have xiaomi airdots (black) and I really love them, they work flawlessly. But one thing I noticed is when I'm charging the case, the red light never dissappears. Is this normal or how should I know when it is full? Even after charging it for the whole night, it never goes away. Thanks!

Mi 9 having slow writing on storage

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:49 PM PST

I am having issues with mi9 . 128gb. The storage writing is so slow even saving a photo from web is taking long. I tried a1 bench and read is around 450MB/a but write is 0.00MB/s. I had this problem before but fixed it with a device reset. So after using for sometime, this problem came back. What's wrong with the phone??

    Game Driver

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 06:18 PM PST

Hi there! I have a question to ask, didn't found nothing about that in Google...

In Additional Settings > Developer Options > Game Driver, what's the difference between the 3 drivers; Default, Game Driver and Prerelease Driver?

    I'm on a Mi 9t Pro, running MiUi11 - Android 10

Redmi Note 8 Pro camera issue

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 01:45 PM PST

    Hello everyone.

I have an issue with my camera that I think I've had since the beginning (I've had the phone for like 2 months now): https://imgur.com/a/qi4PUrf

The pictures show some attemps at taking a photo to a whiteboard from about 6 feet away. All the pictures were taken on "normal" mode; the first one is the standard one without zoom or anything else activated, the second one is with 0.9 zoom which defines the image a lot but without details, the third one is with x3 zoom and is just a blurry mess, the fourth one is with x1 zoom with macro activated and the last one is the same but with the full zoom available on macro mode (x2 I think).

As you can see the camera lacks definition in any combination of modes and options, even on Pro mode.

I have tried clearing everything, from cache to a full wipe of the phone. Right now I'm running MIUI 11.0.2

At the beginning I thought it was the app that had the problem but is the same with every other one that uses the camera (Instagram, Facebook, OpenCamera, etc).

Any idea what could it be? Any help would be very appreciated.

Xiaomi redmi airdots volume difference between dots

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 01:43 PM PST

    Hey guys,

i`ve recently bought my airdots, and i`m facing an issue that`s bugging me a lot. The volume between the left and right dot are slightly different. I tested the audio from the left dot on my right ear and it`s really different.

I`ve already looked for android configuration solutions, but none of it helped me.

Do you know any solution for this? I have a Motorola Moto G6 Play (don`t know if this phone exists outside Brazil).

    Thanks in advance

Can the Redmi Note 8 (not Pro) do proper (30W) fast charging over USB-C or is it limited to 18W?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 10:57 AM PST

As title - I have a 30W Anker "fast charger", compatible cable and a Redmi Note 8. It gets to about 1.6A charging with this setup.

My partner has a car charger with 30W USB-C port and I get the "fast charging" icon (the double lightning bolt), charge speed/current of about 2.9A, not sure of voltage (Ampere app indicates 4.something V rather than 9, but not sure if that's reliable).

With the Anker charger and my cable vs his car charger, my partner saw the same results with his Nokia phone.

Am I able to get "real" fast charging from this phone? Is the 'double lightning bolt' spurious in some way?

I haven't left it charging on the car charger long enough to be able to compare speeds. - that will be my next step if I can't find out any answers after googling (already tried) and redditing.

Xiaomi Haylou GT1 Plus - Mono Mode

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 04:19 PM PST

So I recently got myself a Haylou GT1 Plus. And the manual says that it will switch to mono mode when only one is used. I've been using the right side only and it doesnt seem to be switching to mono mode, the left audio channel can't be heard from the right earbud. Is this intended or is this some sort of issue?

Redmi note 8 Pro : screen pinning

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 10:12 AM PST

    Hi,

Do you also have this issue when pinning the screen, you can't unpin it, when you use gestures to navigate on the smartphone? because of course, there is no more return buton..

A solution for that? Or a way to contact Xiaomi?

    Mi band 4 gesutres

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 11:42 AM PST

    Hi,

Why doesn't Xiaomi update the mi band to use gestures like the app "tools & mi band" ?

To start with, it would already be useful to propose a gesture when sliding from the right, instead of opening the music by sliding from both ends?

And then add a gesture, sliding 2 times, it will start a training session.

It would be great if they add a "flashlight" where the screen will turn white, and if in addition they add a gesture, so you can juste slide from the right and the flashlight will turn on, it would be soo useful !

Is it worth it to get Mi 9T Pro despite the reports about it's battery life?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:37 PM PST

I was doing my research for Mi 9T when I stumbled on this link.

There was a workaround given but I am afraid it won't work for everyone, as the article says. I don't want my money to be wasted so I'm carefully weighing my option..

In your experience, does Xiaomi provide fixes asap? First time Xiaomi user here..

    Problem with redmi airdots

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:26 PM PST

Guys, a few days ago I bought my airdots, and this found well, but today I was using only the right and when I want to use both the sound went down a lot (I have them to the maximum and it sounds like it's a medium volume), can I fix it?

Is the Redmi Note 8 Pro worth buying?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 04:55 AM PST

Hey guys, I am going to buy a phone for around 200 euro. The RN8 Pro sounds really nice, but I'm scared about the screen oversharpening and the battery drain. Is really that bad? Did they fix it on the Android 10 beta?

    Which Gateway Hub For Starters

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 03:46 PM PST

I am wanting to use automation. Items like, lights, AC controller, air purifier, power boards and xiaomi cameras (only own this).

Im based in Aus and hence am using Mainland China in the MII app.

I am an Apple user and would like to use Siri.

I am trying to do research on which hub gateway to get and have come to the conclusion that these two are the best choice: Xiaomi Gateway 2 or Aqara.

    1. Can anyone tell me if they are using these and whether they use Apple Homekit and/or Mii App to view info on the devices and automate?

    2. How does it go with two different iPhones controlling or using automation?

    3. I am concerned about using China Cloud to check on cameras for example but I plan to only power on Cameras using a smart plug when needed. Is using Apple Home Kit the only way to avoid this?

    4. Also to use Apple HomeKit, do you just need a gateway hub or do I need to configure an Apple hub such as Apple TV?

K20/Mi 9T series should have 2020 updates, not K30 sidegrade!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 03:48 AM PST

I found K30 series to be highly controversial. New SoCs and IMX686 are sure great, but regarding the other features, it's not what people really want! The dual punch camera, LCD, overkill 6.7 inch display size, etc.

It would be tremendously better if Xiaomi did some kind of Redmi K21 (and it's international version of course) with essentially the same looks, display, size but slightly updated features, updated SoCs (730G for cheapest version, 765 5G, 865) and main camera IMX686 sensor.
