S20+ only has 1.06 optical zoom

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 02:17 AM PST

After carefully inspecting Samsung's hidden spec sheets for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+, we have to conclude, that neither the Galaxy S20 nor the Galaxy S20+ have any kind of real telephoto or zoom cameras. Instead, Samsung's fake marketing wants you to believe a second wide-angle lens and a crop into a 64 megapixel image can be considered "Hybrid Optic Zoom". Only the expensive Galaxy S20 Ultra actually has a real telephoto camera.

When it comes to the cameras, the virtually hidden specsheet of the Galaxy S20-trio reveals a pretty massive difference between the Galaxy S20 Ultra and its slightly smaller siblings. However Samsung's clever marketing tricks try to cover it all up. Neither the Galaxy S20 nor the Galaxy S20+ have any kind of real zoom camera, the so-called "Telephoto Camera" only offers a ridiculously low 1.06 optical zoom factor, which is essentially no magnification at all. The touted "3x Hybrid Optic Zoom" is a mere crop into the (presumably) 64 megapixel wide-angle image, followed by regular, lossy, 10x digital zoom.

    Issues with Twitter's push notifications

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 07:13 AM PST

Has anyone else suffered from the problem of Twitter's push notifications getting capped at 24 recently? Before the One UI 2 update, the limit was at 49.

Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this too?

    How to use battery effectively

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 07:04 AM PST

So I got the s10 when it first came out. Im pretty happy with it but I'm trading it in for the new s20+. I messed up my battery with my s10 and it's doesn't really last as long as I would've liked it to. Can anyone give me some tips to preserve my battery for when my s20 comes?

    Maximum Power Saving applications

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:17 AM PST

I have a query about the maximum Power saving mode in Samsung smartphones. In the extremely rare occasion that you would need an offline survival manual, how can you change the default application options so as to add other apps which you can use? Will Samsung ever make such a feature if it doesn't exist?

I recently moved to iPhone 11

    Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:04 AM PST

I've been a S10 user since launch and I usually jump around from Android to iOS every 2 years.

This is just an appreciation post for the galaxy s10's speakers. I mean I loved the s10. But god do I love the speakers on that thing the most.

Idk why but the iphones speakers are meh and sound as if they're coming from a small speaker (I mean duh) but compared to the s10, and despite the s10 not having more than just 1 speaker, the s10 is just fantastic. The sounds have more bass and sound much deeper.. as if it's coming out of a high quality loud external speaker. The fact that you can also raise the volume without losing the quality is just so so good. Hats off to Samsung for nailing this part on the head (as well as many other things they've done well)
