I love my 6T, but its becoming harder to "Not Settle" as the days pass.

    Posted: 01 Feb 2020 10:47 PM PST

I got my 6T around 7-8 months ago. From the moment I powered up the device, my jaw has stayed on the ground as to how amazing the phone is. I adore everything about it except; the last two months (maybe less) have been a tiny struggle.

The constant stutters, gallery not opening at times, Whatsapp refusing to send media, camera stopping to function - these are just some of the minor yet nerve-wrecking experiences with the phone. All of it since the Android 10 update/beta whatever. I thought this would just be my phone and did a Factory Reset but alas, the problem never goes away.

I respect Oneplus and their motto to 'never settle' but this situation brings a certain irony to life. Not even sure when will my phone get back to normal - how many updates, to be precise.

EDIT: I have noticed many people who own other devices (7t, 7 Pro, 6, etc.) facing issues with WhatsApp media, camera and gallery. Something minor yet of high utility. It's a shame we're facing such issues after so many updates. For those of you suggesting "rooting" and "custom ROMs", personally, I didn't pay so much money to invest that kind of time. I'm no techie, nor have a hobby of exploring how capable my phone is of. I paid for simplicity and ease of use. Oneplus claims itself to be a top-notch brand, on-par with other smartphone companies. As a user, if you can tweak changes, make your phone better by making the best use of Android; good for you. However, many of us expect things to be 'right', right out-of-the-box. And most of the time, it's us who suffer.

Has anyone experienced random reboots on the 6T.

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 02:02 PM PST

I've had random reboots on 9 and they are worse on 10. Without warning, I'm get the animated OnePlus logo and the phone will reboot. Sometimes it happens 3-5 times in a row, other times it's just once. It's not a single app I'm using when it happens, and I can produce it on command.

    Need dash charger/cable for 6T

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 08:20 PM PST

I lost my charger and cable for 6t. Apparent they don't carry anymore dash chargers, only warp chargers. I know warp chargers work but they are expensive.

Anyone know a reliable charger and cable capable of same speeds?

OnePlus 7T Series now 3 months behind in security patches

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:23 AM PST

I know before people say it - how important are they, it takes times etc.

But my phone is sitting on November security patches, when Samsung have just beaten Google to the February patches.

Why do they say bi-monthly patches as a promise if they can't even deliver that?

We paid a lot for these phones, so they need to up their game in this sense for me.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem with their bluetooth?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 12:33 PM PST

So when I first pair any of my bluetooth headphones or earbuds, I have the volume set to about the 66% of the volume rocker and it's perfectly loud. However, once I disconnect my bluetooth headphones or earbuds and reconnect them, the sound is significantly softer even though it's set to the same volume setting. I have to jack the volume all the way up to 100% just to get it back to same loudness as it was before I disconnected the headphones/earbuds. To get the volume to reset completely to where it was, I have to forget the device and re-pair the headphones/earbuds.

Is anybody else experiencing this or know how to fix it? I'm on the Oneplus 7 Pro with OxygenOS 10.3.0. This is my first Oneplus phone, but may be my last if I can't fix this.

    7T/Pro speaker volume/size compared to 6T

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 08:11 PM PST

Hey, Ive had a 6T for about 3 months that I love (besides the fact that upgrading to Android 10 screwed up my discord notifications and I dont have a PC to downgrade).

Only 2 issues are that the speaker sucks (to me). Phone I had before was a ZTE Zmax and the speakers were amazing. I could actually look at stuff on my phone with the tv on. I can barely hear this phone..No PC to root and downgrade or try to enhance the speakers. And i need to hear it at work over machinery. . Really looking for a whole new phone because of this

And im looking for something a bit wider. Even with SwiftKey and swiping, my texting is horrible because my fingers are huge and I dont like the Big Button keyboard. I know the 7 is taller, but a little width would be perfect

I was looking at a Note 10 plus for size, but i dont wanna pay up to 1000 for a pen I'll never use.

Looking at a 7T and a 7 pro (preferably this one since I dont use selfie camera so Id like notchless screen)

I also game on my phone, and use xcloud to play xbox games.

Sorry for going on. Are either one of the new onepluses upgrades to sound /size?

    Local Update

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 07:13 PM PST

Please Help, I am experiencing continuous freeze + hard reboot and booting my device to "QUALCOMM CRASHDUMP MODE".

I searched a lot regarding with this issue but I cannot find anyway to fix this without using any workstation. I tried to ask for replacement but since buying this in the gray market has consequences, and here it is. The seller keep refusing to replace my device.

So I came up with a conclusion, can I reflash my current ROM on the "Local Update Setting"? I didnt tried it yet maybe later. Or maybe you have any tips or suggestion to fix this annoying issue. Day by day I am losing faith on Oneplus.

My device is Oneplus 7T (HD1900) Oxygen OS 10.0.7

    Under-display selfie camera

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 09:59 AM PST

I think a lot of us saw the "magic-like" under-display selfie camera on the Oppo and Xiaomi prototype phones last year. I for one got excited thinking this tech may potentially star on a OnePlus phone in the near future.

Recently, officials for Oppo and Xiaomi have set a pessimistic tone on the mass-market "readiness" of those under-display cameras.

Oppo VP Brian Shen recently tweeted that their upcoming Oppo Find X2 won't be getting the tech, shutting down earlier rumors that suggested otherwise.

    https://twitter.com/BrianShenYiRen/status/1214480860419747841?s=20

And Xiaomi VP Lu Weibing shook up the smartphone news cycle earlier this week with a sobering Weibo post. He explained the challenges related to pixel density and an under-display camera, concluding that the technology is far from achieving mass production in their phones.

    https://m.weibo.cn/status/IrI0L6RHh?jumpfrom=weibocom

There have been rumors that Nokia may debut an under-display camera later this year on their 9.2, but I'm not very optimistic after reading these posts from Oppo and Xiaomi execs.

This makes me concerned about the near future of OnePlus selfie cameras. I've read about the same leaks as you all have, which indicate the pop-up camera may be getting the axe on the OnePlus 8 series in exchange for a holepunch selfie camera. I thought the only reason they would axe the pop-up camera is if they had an under-display camera ready. Many people bought a OnePlus 7 Pro for the true uninterrupted display. Taking all of this news into account, I fear that OnePlus may be settling with a regressive holepunch camera. For me this is an especially huge bummer because the 7 Pro appears to be sold out. I feel like I, along with many others, may have thrown away my opportunity to get an uninterrupted display on a new OnePlus phone.

Let me know what you guys think!

Incoming calls show phone numbers as if I didn't have the contacts in my agenda

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:50 PM PST

Hi! I have a OP7 Pro and, from time to time, when I have an incoming call, the phone shows the number as if I didn't have the contact of the person calling, when I actually have it in my agenda. I've found out that this problem occurs only when the contact that is calling is registered in full format: +54 9 'area code' 'cell number'. (I'm from Argentina). The incoming calls don't show the prefix 9 after the country code +54, so when the phone compares them with my contacts, it can't find the relation and I don't know who is calling me. I did some research and found in a forum that there should be an option in the contacts visualization settings where you can change the number of bits that the phone uses to compare the contacts. The default number is apparently 11, and changing it to 7 would solve this issue as proved by many Android users in the forum that had the same problem as me. However, I can't find this option in the settings.

    Does anyone know about it?

    Thanks.

    Suspiciously named app draining battery

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 05:45 AM PST

    Hey guys,

Recently got a OnePlus 7 pro. Everything is working great except for the fact that in the detailed battery usage, there is an app named "-5" with default android bot icon that's using a considerable amount of battery. I can't find anything regarding it in the phone or online. Does anyone else know what it is?

    Thank you!

    Magnifying feature brings touch latency

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 09:15 AM PST

I've turned on the feature that magnifies the content on the screen when you tap three times on my 7 Pro. But I then noticed really bad touch latency. When I was scrolling and tapped to stop, It would take a significant amount of time for it to register. So I tried disabling the feature and now everything is great again. Have you experienced the same issue?

    Pocket mode not working?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 03:03 PM PST

Twice now, while mowing or working in the yard, I started to hear a voice from my pocket. My ring cameras are waking my phone while in my pocket and I have managed to press rings emergency button and twice dialed 911. I do not want to make that 3 times...they may come arrest me!

I started to research a way to keep my phone from waking the screen while in my pocket. I found there is a pocket mode..

The problem is, it's already enabled. What gives?

    Making Sure before Upgrading

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 02:52 PM PST

Oxygen Updater just gave me the possibility of upgrading to Android 10.3.1 on my Oneplus 6 (10.3.0). So far I have received a lot of bugs and minor flashy bugs and was wondering if the upgrade is worth it. I am asking this since I am very skeptical of the things Oneplus is doing with Android 10 and their phones as of late. So, as a precaution, has anyone experienced new annoying bugs in the last minor update that makes you want to wait for 10.4.0 maybe? Thank you in advance

Camera improvements 7TPro McLaren over 7Pro?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2020 10:38 AM PST

I currently have the TMobile 7Pro and have loved this phone and sung its praises...with one caveat. I'm a photographer and do a fair bit of mobile photography whenever I don't have my main camera with me. We all know that the 7Pro has its issues with photo quality using the stock app. My question is whether the McLaren edition has made any improvements in camera quality over the og 7Pro. I've tried the Gcam port and ran into problems getting it working properly so, I'd like to avoid that route. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
