Looking for app: Let's you report stuff like mood and activity and wellness stats, and friends can see updates live.

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:45 AM PST

So to outline, I'm looking for something along the lines of an emotional/physical wellness app designed to keep you updated on how your friends/family are doing. I've found some stuff simpler to this that is dedicated for family taking care of seniors, but I'm hoping to find something more general and targeted at just anyone who cares about eachother. ( I can also list examples of apps with similar features I've found for examples if anyone wants?) Some stuff I'd like to have it do:

Report mood throughout the day and be able to view others mood live.

Track wellness activities such as taking vitamins/medicine, eating/drinking, and negative things like doing bad habits ect and having that information viewable by others in your circle as well.

More on the last point, being able to get notifications when a friend hasn't eaten or had something to drink for quite a while, or when they are overdue to take medicine, or if they are wanting to do a bad habit or their mood is poor.

It would be nice if it had a location tracker since all the ones targeted at senior citizens have it, and knowing where all your friends/family are would be nice, especially in an emergency.

I could think of a lot of features I'd love to see as well, but I figured just listing the core stuff would be best, especially since I don't even know if an app like this exsists at all. Figured it was worth asking tho!

Best App I've found for pure weight training tracking

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 11:19 AM PST

Years ago I had an iPhone and was using an app called Gym Buddy. I switched to Android and it took me a couple of years but found a great app called Fit Notes. It has default lifts and anything can be added or deleted. It also has history, and lots of other stuff.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.jamesgay.fitnotes

Anyway, I'm in no way associated with the app but thought I'd share.

A to-do app that automatically prioritizes items by how often I want to do them?

    Posted: 09 Feb 2020 02:59 PM PST

For example, I want to exercise every day, but I only want to complete one painting each week, and pay my credit card once each month.

In the app I'm looking for, each day, at the top of my list will be "exercise" then when I tic that off, "paint" will be at the top, unless I finished a painting yesterday, and now the priority is "pay credit card". Does that make sense? It shows you what you need to do, based off of desired frequency and latest completion.

Good EPUB reader like Lithium but it leaves notes and highlights on the files?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:08 PM PST

Loved Lithium's simplicity. A bit surprised that after I finished reading a book and copied the file to my computer, the highlighted words and notes are not intact. They stayed on the app instead on the files, like they normally do with PDFs.

I love Lithium but this lack of feature is a bit problematic to me. Any good suggestions? I need to have the files marked. I don't really like Moon Reeader; too many buttons and toggles.

    Suggestions...

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 11:52 AM PST

Looking for an android app that let me work with multiple profiles at the same time. Further explaining... I have a phone where I use whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail etc. I have a small business and use whatsapp for business, Facebook, Gmail etc for it. I also have a part time job where I need to manage their whatsapp, Facebook and Gmail etc.

Usually what I do is login to my account and clear data when I am done and then login my business account and then clear data and login job account. Tired of doing this. Should I use separate phones for each. I am trying not to carry so many phones.

Request: a to-do list widget that sync with Google Tasks and has high information density

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 01:55 AM PST

I'm looking for a widget that will sync with Google and display a lot of tasks on-screen. The official Google Tasks widget can only show a handful of tasks at a time. I used to use Business Calendar 2 but they've started showing full-screen ads to try and convert people to buy the pro version, which doesn't sit well with me.

Mute/block notifications/calls from individual users across multiple messaging apps?

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:14 AM PST

Hi, I'm getting flustered because I would like to have a white and/or default black list that silences the notifications (including vibration) from a number of users who use multiple platforms to contact me. (Messenger, phone, sms (using SMS+), Hangouts, Dialer, WhatsApp, Signal, 2nd line... Gmail, to name a few.)

It's fine if they want to call, message, email and leave a message. I just don't want a pop up notification, or any ring or vibration notification when they do.

Being able to block these users ability to trigger alerts from any of their stored contact information (not, necessarily one phone number, email address, or handle) - no matter which communication platform they go through would be ideal. (You know "that guy" who, despite already leaving 5 detailed voicemails before you get a chance to check your phone, continues to call, text, and message you across each and every platform available, every 10 minutes from sun up to sun down. (Dude, one message is enough. I either haven't checked it, or am unable to get back to you at the moment. Why leave a message (or, 11) on Messenger, when in order for me to check it, I would have to pull up the same page where I could see your original message from another app? If I haven't had the time to read one message, why you think I have the time to listen to 12 before responding. Not going to ignore one message, 12....I digress.)

This is because I'm not simply looking for a white list of people who can contact me when my phone is in silent mode: I don't want to miss important calls from numbers I don't have in my address book to add to a white list. (I see several medical specialists, and appointment calls always come from a seemingly endless number of unlisted numbers.)

In a perfect world, what I want:

Ring and notification alert that will allow me to selectively filter out all associated means of communication from certain contacts when rule is enstated. I don't mean, "block," but I do not want:

Phone to ring OR VIBRATE when a saved number (or, account) on an individuals saved contact entry (integrated phone and Google contacts, as well at FB, WhatsApp, 2nd Line, and Signal) attempts to call, text, message via any shared means of communication I do not want to receive Gmail push notifications when I receive emails from these people. Is this an option? I do not want to receive pop up, silent, vibrating, or audio notifications when any of their accounts attempt to reach one of mine

It is fine if they leave texts or voicemail, I just don't want to get a notification.

I would prefer not to do this the other way - building a white list - for the reasons listed above. (Minority, not majority of contacts would be white list. Significant numberv of new and/or unlisted numbers legitimately need to reach me.)

However, if that's an actual (and, the only) option, I want a way to manage permissions for these people across platforms: I do not want to go to each app and try to determine if assigning override permission, assigning them to a special group, or with a special alarm would work. Too much room for error, and I'm not even sure Gmail or several others have this option. (Know my sms text app does not move new new messages from muted contacts to front of messaging queue, and be messages are often left undiscovered because they get - for some reason-entered out of order, pages back, at the time I may communicated with the individual. (Missed many important texts from those not whitelisted to override alarms, because they were buried so far back, I never knew they were there.)

Using a first generation Pixel, as well as a Nokia 2.1 phone (WiFi, no cell or data service) due to current service issues with Verizon Pixel. Also, check, manage (Mighty text), and receive calls, texts, and-chats, Messenger calls/communicators, etc, on Windowss 10 laptop.

Any advice? Tried a number of free apps that don't come close to accomplishing any of this. Willing to pay a REASONABLE price for an app/service that allows me the ability to customize such controls on my phone/PC, but don't want to pay for something that isn't going to get the job done unnecessarily, andb can't find a service that even remotely sounds like it would do the job that will allow me to test the service free of charge; doesn't sound way above my to over the line programming familiarity, etc.

God, if you stayed in here, bless you. Know I'm not going to get a one stop shop solution, but a way to minimize efforts in a budget would alleviate a significant amount of phone related stress in my life, and I'm sure there are others who would appreciate your insights.

PS Has anyone discovered a unified inbox app that truly integrates the ability to receive and send messages from multiple platforms... Not, just an app where all the messaging apps and notifications are grouped in a menu you have to select individually?

Sorry, for the off-putting character count. Three years of scouring the web, provider specific websites and support tools, and community forums, and I'm no where closer than I was before. Thought I'd lay it out all on the table.

What is up with Opinion Rewards?!

    Posted: 10 Feb 2020 07:15 AM PST

So I'd downloaded Google Opinion Rewards in September last year, and didn't even receive a single survey for four months. Not even one. I got frustrated and deleted the app sometime in Jan.

But I downloaded it again five days ago. This time I gave it all location permissions, storage and usage access, whatever it needed. To my surprise, I got two surveys! I answered them honestly. And that's it. Not a single survey since. Even while I'm basically feeding it all my data.

Is there something I'm missing here? Something other than just giving permissions to it and being honest? Something that gets me more surveys?
