Is there a need to enable "HA SKU" in secondary Cisco 3504 for HA-N+1 when using RTU licensing?

Based on Cisco's RTU FAQ.. It looks like there is no need to enable "HA SKU secondary unit" on the backup controller, since I could just simply add the same amount of licenses to both WLCs since my APs will only be joined to 1 WLC at a time?

    Am I correct?

    From Cisco's RTU FAQ:

Simply add the amount of licenses that you have purchased to all controllers. There will be no license violation as long as the number bought licenses is higher or equal to the total number of joined APs on all controllers in N+1 High Availability."

    Thanks for the help

    Survey: current typical host speeds?

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 02:53 AM PST

I've been away from the industry since 2013 due to serious illness, and currently looking to get back in and get my hands dirty again. When I left the industry back in 2013, typical client speeds were 1GbE, with Servers in datacenters, typically defaulting to 10GbE, with certain servers having multiple bonded 10GbE connections or occasionally 25GbE. I was hoping to get some input her, on what is considered the norm today in 2020? Naturally much higher speeds are available today, than back in 2013, but what is actually in common use?

http://www.ctcu.com.pl/files/igs_402sm_4ph24_igs_803sm_8ph24.pdf I'm using this switch to connect various ethernet devices to a monitoring system (IBA). Can I use the console port to connect to another ethernet switch and then connect that ethernet switch to the ibA server?

Connect IPTV to Cisco IP Phone

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 06:56 AM PST

    Hello Guys,

I'm not able to find the answer if we can connect an IPTV to the Cisco IP Phone. I know usually we connect a PC to the IP Phone but can we connect it to an IPTV. Does this port support multicast fo the IPTV?

    Thanks in advance.

    No attack on deployed honeypot

    Posted: 16 Feb 2020 04:11 AM PST

We recently deployed a honeypot on 18.221.202.214 but all the attacks we got were port scanners which lose the connection after connecting. Not a single attack input anything on the terminal. Is there anything one can do about this?

I don't know if this sounds silly, but is there any place where I can post this IP to attract more attackers to attack?

    UDP Hole Punch Service

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 07:11 PM PST

I want to send short messages from computer A to computer B. Computer B is on a cellular hotspot. Computer A is at the user's home. My goal is to have rather low latency so I'm hoping to setup a direct UDP "connection" between the two. I read about UDP hole punching but I don't really want to setup a public server. I was hoping there was a service (free or paid) that would do the signaling part of the hole punch. The way I imagine it is there would be a server that would receive a UDP packet maybe asking to connect User A to Service A using password A, and if there was a user B asking to connect to Service A at the same time it would send User B the port number of A and vice versa. This seems like a common need for the IOT community. Is there a service that can do this or something like it?
