How do I get rid of the Red Cable Club?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:54 PM PST

Since the latest update (10.3) of my OP6 my phone is nagging me in the settings menu to log in with my OnePlus account and join the Red Cable Club. I don't have an OnePlus account and I don't live in India.

How do I make it go away?

Is the difference between 6gb ram and 8gb ram that noticeable?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:32 PM PST

Ive had my eye on the OnePlus 7pro for a really long time but seeing as the 8gb ram 256gb option is always out of stock, I'm thinking of setting for the 6gb ram model. People who have the 8gb, is it that much better than the 6gb?

    Horizon notification light frequency

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:28 PM PST

Is there a way to have the horizon notification light to repeat rather than blink once when a new notification comes in? If I'm not looking at the phone, I don't see the message, and then what's the point, ya know?

Error 7 When Trying to Flash Android 9 from Oreo on 5t - Need help!

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:25 PM PST

Wondering if I could get some help on this issue trying to flash to PIE.

I was trying to flash the latest OOS (OOS 9.0.9) for my 5t, which has been on the 5.1.7 oreo build for over a year.

I updated my TWRP Codeworkx to the latest 3.2.3 file for Oreo, which I downloaded from the thread below, however when I tried to flash the latest OOS zip I got an error 7. It states that I am using a "OnePlus 5" when I am clearly using a 5t and flashed the dumpling twrp linked in this thread. https://forum.xda-developers.com/one...0-8-1-t3729673

Now my phone is stuck in recovery and I have no way of figuring this one out. I can't re-install the 5.1.7 zip I had on my phone either, getting another error with that.

Note I did remove the compatibility.zip from the latest OOS 9 zip, as instructed from numerous threads on how to update to Pie.

Any suggestions on what to do at this point? Do I try to flash another TWRP, if so which one and how since I'm stuck in recovery??

    OnePlus 6 10.3.0 Missing Characters

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 07:14 PM PST

Is anyone else having issues with special characters missing? It replaces the special characters with an "x" inside of a box like this "□".

I've found one solution that requires Magisk. Any other tips or solutions?

Solution: I just downloaded the 10.3.0 software from the OnePlus website again, and did a local upgrade over my existing 10.3.0. No data was lost either.

    Costumer service appreciation

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 06:18 PM PST

Hey guys, I wanted to quickly share my experience dealing with OnePlus costumer care.

I received my OP 7 pro last week and was pleasant surprised with the unboxing experience. I was also surprised to find that the included clear case for the OP had a few scratches on it, before being taken out of the box. Went ahead and contacted costumer service via chat. I was assured they would look after me.

The next day I received a follow-up email informing me that I would be given a karbon case for my phone and this morning I received it!

Great costumer service for my first ever OnePlus experience.

The tint on the lock screen is distorting the image quality, is there any fix???

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 06:14 PM PST

From searching the web, it seems that the tint itself is unremovable, but I also experience what I'm going to call gradient degradation. Essentially, the colors of the image are no longer blending properly and they become more like regions of color, even though on my homescreen it's fine. As the screen gets dimmer, the gradient degradation becomes worse and worse to the point where you can even discern the image.

It just looks so disgusting, I can't imagine this being a "feature" of Android.

Also, can't post screenshots, because they won't capture the effect.

Which gesture navigation option is best for OnePlus 7 Pro?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 01:59 PM PST

Seeing that gesture navigation is the future, I have been using OnePlus's own navigation feature ever since the Android 10 update (although it was available since Android 9), that is, swipe up from the centre for home, swipe up from either sides of the bottom of the screen for back, swipe up from centre and hold for recent apps etc.

Now that I'm familiar with gesture navigation, I'm now concerned about the compatibility issues with Android. Since the default Android 10 Google gesture navigation (a single navigation bar at bottom with either edge of screen as back buttons) is how Google intends gesture navigation to be, I started thinking whether it was less buggy and a more compatible way of navigation than OnePlus's gestures. OnePlus's own gestures do have their own advantages. The most obvious advantage being having true full screen 24×7.

I am torn between the option of having true full screen and Google's own gesture navigation. If anyone can clarify that both are equally compatible with Android then I would switch to OnePlus's gestures in a heartbeat.

Please share your personal experiences with both navigation options and the pros and cons according to you.

    Network Preference (Verizon) op7t

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 01:32 PM PST

Anyone know if this is an issue. Been using my phone on Verizon network since release and haven't had any issues with it. But recently I was adjusting my settings and I noticed that for network Preference it has it under 2g/3g/4g automatic. I no longer see the option for LTE or GSM. I remember I used to have the option to switch between the two but now it's not there. Not a big deal for me just was wondering because the My Verizon app suggests my device can be on a faster network.

Question about using multiple users on OxygenOS

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 12:40 PM PST

So I've got OxygenOS 10.0.5 on my OnePlus 7T Pro and I've created another user for work but the navigation gestures on that user are Android's classic ones, not the new iPhone-like ones. I've tried changing them but I can't seem to find that option anywhere. Is it possible to change the navigation gestures on another user or is it blocked to the three button one?

Is it possible to root without unlocking bootloader?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 03:58 PM PST

I have a device OnePlus 6T is it now possible to root without unlocking bootloader? Maybe a recent development not many are aware of. If not then is it a possibility in future? Or is it just not possible ever?

Sorry for asking this, i am not a programmer so i don't possess huge knowledge in this field.

Reasons being its a big hassle to backup huge data to laptop since it gets wiped and security is compromised but security is definitely compromised if one loses his phone. It would be very convenient to have this option. I had my 3T rooted but when i bought my 6T (i know i should've rooted it at the start) i decided to not root it because of security and well not having to root each time after updates.

(I know its irrelevant to say it but my sole reason to root is because i madly love the google sans font and viper 4 android is a big factor as well but mostly its the font)

    Quick Questions about Non-Warp Charging

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 07:31 PM PST

I recently purchased a 7T and am loving it. I have a two Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 wall chargers I used with my previous phone.

    My questions:

    1. I know the 7T is not compatible with the Quick Charge standard. But, at what wattage rate does the 7T charge using QC 3.0 chargers?
    2. Assuming I need a PD compatible wall charger to achieve the best non-Warp charging speeds, is that standard only applicable using USB C to USB C cables? I ask because most of the chargers I see only have a PD slot labeled on a USB C input.

    Thanks!

OnePlus 7 pro battery suddenly stopped to 2.9v

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 06:23 PM PST

Was using my phone charging and noticed it suddenly go really slow. And seen it hit 0% when it was charging and on about 34%. Checked voltage and the battery was at 2.9v!!! I restarted thinking it was an android issue but got the "battery too low" message after about 4 minutes it booted and then started taking 5A from the warp charger and is back at 4.2v. Using Ampere to check this btw.

    Anyone experienced this before?

    7T Pro burn-in after only 3 months

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 10:15 AM PST

I got my 7T Pro mid-November and noticed about a month ago how there are slight burn-ins on the top and bottom of the display. I only really notice it when I watch YouTube and I've realised YouTube itself is the cause in my case.

Since the 7T Pro display is 19.5:9 and most of the content on YouTube is 16:9 (or 18:9 in some cases) the black boxes that appear on the sides (while the phone is in landscape mode) seem to have been burned in.

I've had some trouble understanding how the burn-in could occur, seeing as the black boxes are, well, black.

Am I the only one experiencing this?
