I need to use Android Device Manager on one of my device, however I cannot get access to the device because Android Device Manager only lets you see one device at a time. I tried to find some sort of a list to get to my other device that I need to get access to, but I couldn't find anything that could help me. I also tried the mobile application, but it is exactly the same as the website. Can someone help me with this? [link] [comments]  |

I recently bought a OnePlus 7T Pro from a third-party website, which shipped it from HK to the UK. The device is the chinese version, but came flashed with the global one. (whatever that means) In the 24 days I had the device, my debit/credit cards got defrauded 3 times. Needless to say, I had to revert to my old device and reset my windows, change my phone number, etc. No software finds any malware - I have tried Malwarebytes, Avast and Kaspersky. However, absolutely nothing else has changed for me in the past month, except the new device. So my question is - would flashing the device solve the problem, if it is indeed infected with malware that I have somehow brought onto it by, for example, using public wifi? Thank you in advance. | Redmi Note 5 Pro With a BIG Issue Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:52 PM PST Following the instruction on xda to debloat redmi note 5 whyred. I removed about 20 apps from the phone using adb commands. After rebooting, the phone took a really long time to reboot and rebooted directly to the mi-recovery and would reboot itself after a few minutes without any input and then reboot back into mi-recovery again. I tried to use fastboot commands to flash the original firmware but the bootloader is locked. I tried to use qualcomm usb driver 9008, test point method, and miflash2018.11.05 to flash the firmware. Miflash asked to login to mi account. After successful login, still failed to flash firmware because of authentication failure. So now my phone is not working and can not be restored. Keep in mind - I was not able to backup any of my data because I did not know that the XDA guide would cause this problem, so I am trying to fix my problem while keeping my data. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 01 Jan 2020 06:48 PM PST Recently switched my aging OG Pixel to a Note 10+, and am sorely missing the search bar/widget at the bottom :/ Samsung seems to implement a pretty rudimentary widget that opens what is essentially voice search. | Posted: 01 Jan 2020 04:14 PM PST I have a Nubia red magic 3 and it was running android 9 as far as I am aware.Yesterday I tried to root it and being the idiot I am i messed it up and now get a screen saying "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot" After about 10-30 seconds or so it will restart then show the same page I am not able to get to recovery mode but can get into fastboot and control it from my pc. I have tried flashing files from the global ROM (I think that's what it is anyway, it may be an update file or something like that. I am unsure which it is or if there is a difference) as I have seen posted on a variety of sites however nothing seems to fix it. Device info from fastboot says, secureboot - yes system is root - 1 boot is root - 0 device is root - 1 I am able to lock/unlock the device state After flashing the boot, recovery, or system system is root changes to - 0. Sometimes device is root will change as well. Any help is appreciated, I realize I was stupid in doing this but at this point I just want the phone working again. I have a backup so I don't care about any data loss or anything like that, I just need to be able to get to the point where I can load the backup. The phones splash screen shows for a second before the message takes over as well. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:34 PM PST I have sort of an odd problem - I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and had an update a couple of days ago (with various fixes and security patches), but since the update, my notifications that drop down from the menu are all blank. One example is I get push notifications from a few different news sites on Twitter, and on the menu I can see who sent the tweet out, but when I expand the tweet, it's blank unless I click on it and read it in the app. I've cleared the cache, data, and even uninstalled it. Is anyone else having, or had a problem similar to this that was able to fix it? And help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

| Unable to find picture files and high storage use by Gallery Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:19 PM PST Hi, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but am somewhat hoping it is so there is so there is a simple answer. I have been confused when helping two separate people with their phones (Oneplus 3 and Huawei FIG-LX1, both with stock roms) and found when trying to move pictures off of their device that the pictures aren't present in the DCIM folder like I have always found them on other phones. What is confusing me is that all these pictures are accessible on their device in full quality but there are no image files that I can find on the device. This is complimented by the Gallery app taking up a very large amount (39 GB on Huawei) of storage space (under User Data not Cache). Is this where the photos are? Also, in both cases the operator of the smartphone was using Google photos to view their pictures but that wasn't consuming much storage space. Google photos would offer the option to save a picture to the device and then that picture would appear as a file on the device in a different folder (though not sure if at full quality or not). Google photos upload was turned on in both of the cases so when I went to the account online I could only find the high quality versions. The filesizes of the pictures on the device are all bigger as they are the originals. On the Huawei there are about a gigabyte of files that, based on their filenames, appear to contain thumbnails but are not able to be opened. Is this anything to do with it? What I would be very grateful to know is: Where have the pictures gone to? Why is the user data of the gallery app so big? As neither of these devices are my phone any requests for additional information that I don't know (if needed) may not be immediate but I will try to find out as quickly as I can. | My Samsung S7 edge keeps freezing and restarting by itself, help! Posted: 01 Jan 2020 01:06 PM PST So I've had this phone for a little over 3 years, and it hasn't caused me any issues until now. It started a couple days ago, where my phone just froze and decided to restart for no reason. This has happened continously since then, at least 5 times a day. Since then I've put my phone on safe mode and cleared the data cache, but this hasn't solved the problem. I've heard that a factory reset could solve it but I only want to use that as a last resort. I've also heard that it could be due to a defective battery, if so how would I know if its the battery that's defective? I'm currently out of ideas, anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? The music plays great until I get a text or e-mail, when the music stops. I have to press the play button again in order to play music again.
