    Bloatware API calls

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 04:51 PM PST

I've tried de-bloating my device and keeping "useful" apps however I can still see multiple calls to:

    • data.mistat.intl.xiaomi.com

    • api.sec.intl.miui.com

    • fr.app.chat.global.xiaomi.net

    • resolver.msg.global.xiaomi.net

Does anyone know what applications make these calls? I'd rather remove (if possible) than modify my hosts file using something like AdGuard (others required being rooted or trade external VPN access) or manually.

Weird call by phone being made when connecting to any BT device.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 05:04 PM PST

Been dealing with the weirdest shit on PA. Any bluetooth device that connects the phone will make this random call to itself which cancels out and music/audio. I have to end this mystery call to get audio back. Doesn't matter if its my car or earbuds, all does it. However, sometimes not at all. Thinking its an app but wondering if there is a way to monitor what apps are triggered when events happen.

Android system battery drain on Redmi 5 Plus

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:44 AM PST

    Hello /r/xiaomi!

I've bought Redmi 5 Plus a year and a half ago and have been extremely satisfied with it. Ever since I bought it I haven't updated it once since I knew that updates can often mess things up with software.

Lo and behold, I updated it some time ago to MIUI 10. At first, update seemed great - phone was even faster than before. Unfortunately, my battery started to drain, and Android system was #1 in battery usage stats.

Recently I've updated to MIUI 11. At first, all those speed gains were gone, phone was supper laggy and battery drain problem remained. A week ago I've done factory reset (wiped everything) and manually installed latest global ROM version from c.mi.com.

Phone is now significantly faster than before (maybe not the same level as MIUI 10, but it's acceptable) and sadly, battery problem is still here.

Android system is using between 30 - 40% of battery, usually around 35%. I am not a heavy user, but before those updates I was getting around 10-12 hours of screen on time. Now it's around 5h.

So in general, I've tried factory reset, I've cleared cache, I've cleared cache for every single app (200+ of them) and yet the problem is still here. Only two apps can autostart: camera and poco launcher.

I've also noticed that when I charge the phone to 100%, as soon as I unplug it, it drops to 90% in few moments.

I would appreciate if any of you can offer me some advice on this.

    Redmi note 7 problems

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 02:28 PM PST

So I have my phone since last summer and it is already showing some major issues.

First of all, the screen keeps freezing and then I have to restart it or it automatically restarts at the most random moments, there is no logic behind it. It is getting really annoying and they really need to fix it...

Second some apps keep crashing either because I open them or they're on the background and I'm not using them. This makes a screen pop up over and over which is pretty annoying so I have to restart again. Also the camera crashes sometimes.

And last which I consider to be really really annoying is that my WhatsApp chat history sometimes is deleted and I have to put a backup back, which I'd rather not do because doesn't matter how often you back everything up you still lose it....

I just want to know if other people have experienced this as well and if someone knows how I can fix it or if they're working on fixing it.

I'll do a factory reset of my phone soon and if it doesn't work I'll see if I have warranty.

Does Mi 9 Lite have DC dimming option

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:22 PM PST

I know the Mi 9 has DC dimming option and the Mi 9T doesn't. Can't seem to find any info out there whether the Mi 9 Lite has it. Anyone have one that can check? Any personal experience out there using it?

    Duplicate Notifications

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 02:13 PM PST

For about a month, my Amazfit Bip sends double, triple, or quadruple notifications when I get a text. When I respond, it'll also repeat notify of the text I'm responding to. Only does it with texts, not other apps.

Any ideas on how to get it to function normally?

Will using a Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 charger cause damage to the Xiaomi Mi 9T battery?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 03:31 PM PST

    Hi,

So I recently purchased a Xiaomi Mi 9T international version. I'm located in Australia and the phone comes with a European charger. I don't like how an adapter makes the plug bulky and annoying to carry around. Will buying this charger work the same as the charger provided? I'm worried if it might cause damage to the battery.

[rant, mi 9] Automatic brightness is really bad

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:08 AM PST

Mi 9 is by far the worst phone I've had regarding automatic screen brightness adjustment. I was hoping it would get better through the updates but I have a feeling it's gotten even worse. One second I'm looking at some content, it turns the brightness all the way down, I adjust it back through the notification tray slider, after a few seconds it goes back to almost fully dim, or just cranks it too bright. It's totally inconsistent. How are you guys solving this issue? I don't want to turn off automatic brightness since it comes in handy in very bright environments...

    Anything I should know?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:13 PM PST

Is there anything I should know before purchasing a Xiaomi 9T pro? (Mainly disadvantages about having it)

I currently have a beaten up OnePlus 3, and I live in the UK.

And what sort of accessories would you recommend? (I read that the screen scratches easily, so what screen protector etc.)

Need a new mid tier GSM phone and am leaning towards Xiaomi

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:59 PM PST

I'm not tech savvy whatsoever, I have MetroPCS and get the $100 budget phones. I have decided to upgrade to a mid tier phone but I'm not quite sure what to get. What's currently the best Xiaomi phone for the price ($150-$250), And is it better than the Moto G7? Thanks!
