Which system wide adblocker is compatible with VPN’s? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:20 AM PST I would like to switch to Android, and was wondering if there was any apps which allow system wide ad-blockers to run alongside a personal VPN. For example, I'm currently on iPhone and I am able to use AdGuard DNS (runs as a local VPN), as well as NordVPN simultaneously. Unfortunately AdGuard for Android does not allow this due to reason mentioned above. Are there any other trusted ad blocker apps which work alongside VPNs? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
5 Best App That I Found On Google Play Posted: 30 Dec 2019 10:23 PM PST Hi, It's never been easy to find a cool app that could match your expectations on PlayStore. As there are many of them on PlayStore even with the tags like editor's choice, featured, top free and top paid. It's difficult to find an app that would be the best among the group of similar apps. Here I am going to showcase a few of my choices for a few requirements. If you didn't find what you want, feel free to comment down what you need... I try my best to find the best relevant app for your expectation. Let's check them out. Do you mind app permissions ? Do you know how unnecessary app permissions could steal your data ? What would be the requirement for a calender app in using your location or contacts permissions. Or else in some cases you may need that permissions for a temporary purpose. What would you do in that case. Hmm... There is an app called Bouncer on Google play that could help you. Bouncer - 0.99USD / 75INR It's an app that helps you keep your privacy by allowing the app permissions temporarily. Bouncer uses accessibility permission to temporarily turn the app permissions on and then off when you don't need it any more. But, wait why do i trust bouncer ? Yes bouncer takes the accessibility permission but doesn't ask for any other permissions that includes your personal or app data. It just gets access to turn on and off the app permissions. It also doesn't has any ads and no internet permissions, hence we can assure that app doesn't connect to any online server to steal your data. Having it clear, this app is really cool. I tryed it personally and it works awesome and isn't that heavy on my battery. Duet Display - 11.8 USD / 850INR It's developed by a team of ex-apple employees. This app can be used to add a second display to your android phone or tablet. The awesome thing about this app is it's compatibility and performance. It can be paired to MACs with 10.14 later, also supports chromebook and almost all PCs that run on windows. I personally like it's easy connect feature as the desktop application auto detects the phone. It would be really helpful while editing videos on your mobile device or giving a simple presentation that you wanted to do on mobile. It's lite and doesn't drain much battery. Hope you find it helpful. Ohh ! All the above are paid apps ! Aren't there any cool free apps on play ? Yes, there are a few. Otter - FREE / Subscription It's an app that helps you record the speech in the meetings and take notes in realtime. These notes are easily shareable to your friends and has a search feature so you could find a particular topic that you want. You can manually edit, highlights and share summary with your co employees and friends. Works only for English speech. I tryed recording my lectures at my university, I really like it's technology that punctuates, capitalise and breaks paragraphs. I was also able to export the notes in pdf or text format and share to my class mates and friends. Although it caught some errors which I could easy correct after the session, but it's still a really cool app. Musixmatch - FREE Musixmatch is the world's largest collection of song lyrics used by millions of people to get instant synchronised lyrics for Youtube, Spotify, Pandora and more. You can also use it to get song translations on the go. It shows a popup that shows of lyrics of the song you're listening to. You can also customise the popup design and animation. Personally, I really liked it's premium version as it includes the party mode which is awesome to look at and its transparent popup design is more useful when listening to music on YouTube. Headspace - FREE/Subscription Headspace is your personal guide to health and happiness. It'll help you focus, breathe, stay calm, perform at your best, and get a better night's rest through the life-changing skills of relaxation, meditation and mindfulness. In just a few minutes a day, you'll learn how to train your mind and body for a healthier, happier, stress-free life. Need a bit of stress relief during a rough day or guidance on how to relax and sleep soundly at night? Headspace can help. All you have to do is download this guided meditation, mindfulness, and sleep app for free. Then just sit back, breathe, relax, and sleep. I personally feel it's the best option compared to other meditation apps on PlayStore. It's cool and has quite a lot sessions for free. That's would help you relax and get some headspace. Posted: 31 Dec 2019 10:10 AM PST I would find such an app really useful but am surprised I can't seem to find such a thing. Edit: I meant the entire screen in real-time. "Translate on screen" on Google play is close but I have to select the area I want translated and it's really annoying for the price of the full version plus no adds [link] [comments] |
ipc360 IP Camera App for Android Will Not Record to SD Card Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:29 AM PST Hey. So I've looked around on the web and here on Reddit but I can't find an answer to this. I can't seem to get my Haichendz cheapie cam to record to my new 64GB SD Card. I inserted, re-inserted (while cam was off as recommended in their help). I formatted it through the ipc360 app. It is set as the default to record to (not cloud, which I do not have anymore anyway). I've logged in/out, powered cam on/off, next I guess I'll try reloading the app. Could be a bad cam card reader? Any other ideas? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:23 AM PST For certain reasons I'm very sensitive to humidity and like to know the humidity level in the app. 2x2 is because I've got my home screen set a certain way and would really like to not have to revamp it. Weather Underground had all I need in a 2x2 widget, but everything else I've tried - stuff like yr.no, meteogram, etc - are all giant 4x2 or so widgets that have way more stuff than I need. I even tried apps made specifically to be a customizable widget for yr.no and another for windy - neither worked. Any suggestions, please? [link] [comments] |
What app is causing this navbar? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:10 AM PST I am using one ui and get this weird navbar when i chose navigation buttons, i have always used navigation gestures before so i didn't notice this. I believe it's some kind of app that i've installed before that is causing this (i , but i have no idea what it could have been, I can't find any app on my phone that is causing this. But most importantly, does anyone know how i can get rid of this? It works, just like the buttons but is ugly in some apps. Edit: Figured it out, it was caused by a theme that i had applied. Anyone have something similar to AdAway? Keep getting pop-ups basically everywhere Posted: 30 Dec 2019 06:23 PM PST I've tried installing AdAway from F-Droid to help diagnose the problem, but the scan only reveals games which I've downloaded from the Playstore and are all Play Protect verified. The pop-ups I keep getting seem very sneaky too, as I've tried to locate them using the recent apps on my phone, but they keep coming back with the same app I'd been using before the ad occured. I also occassionally get ads that say I have viruses but they all redirect me to cleaners in the Playstore. I know that this is a very real problem when I'm even getting popup ads while typing on my stock android/samsung keyboard, and apps that shouldn't have ads (Discord, stock Samsung SMS, to name a couple.) An app that will help me to plot out an old townsite via gps. Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:18 AM PST This is kind of specific but I feel like there's got to be something out there I can use. I am trying to plot out an abandoned town site that is almost entirely invisible from satellite maps, basically just overgrown foundations and roads. I'd like something I can use to walk out to each foundation or road and walk the perimeter to draw an outline and be able to see it all on one map. I've tried using apps like Strava but it doesn't combine each segment without connecting them in some way and I can't save/exit and then come back to add more to the same map the next day. Any suggestions? As I said before the foundations aren't visible on GPS maps so just zooming in from a computer and drawing them out isn't really an option. [link] [comments] |

App that turns old cellphone with no service into a GPS-only tracker Posted: 31 Dec 2019 02:39 AM PST So I have an old phone that I want to put inside my vehicle to track it whenever I want without service. The phone is a LG-G4 with Android 6. I am thinking about connecting a USB charger to a random port somewhere in the car, either somewhere on the front console or somewhere in the rear-passenger area. Then I would run the cord under the seat and tape the cellphone under the seat as well. The phone has pretty good battery and I'm hoping there's an app that can track the phone's location through the devices GPS sensor. [link] [comments] |
App/widget for adding items by voice to a to-do list? Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:39 AM PST I want to add items to a list with Google Keep Notes or Google Tasks by voice, but Google Assistant saves things in its own list when I say "Hey Google, add X to list Y." Can anyone point me to a widget or app so that I can add items to lists by voice? Or if this is possible wity keep/tasks, what am I doing wrong? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:06 AM PST Does somebody know a widget so I can switch the stronger touch sensitivity on? It would be nice to do this because it makes it much easier to use the touchscreen with gloves. But going into the menu everytime is pretty annoying. I've seen that there is apps to create widgets but I cannot figure how to create what I'm looking for. Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit. Very new here. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 05:52 AM PST Hello, I have a J7 Crown. Nothing special- and definitely nothing special concerning storage. Can I buy a Micro SD card and use it as storage? Can a Micro SD card store apps, as well as pictures? If I can fix my problem with storage, I at the very least can deal with this phone until I can purchase a newer modern one. [link] [comments] |
