| For those who want an audio player with folder view and playback position memory Posted: 19 Dec 2019 03:56 AM PST I suggest you: Music Folder Player Free This app has been my default music / podcast / lecture recorded audio app for at least 5 years now, because it has also another amazing function: root folders can have speed and equalizer settings which has custom to that folder. So my lecture notes play at 1.5x always, while my music plays at 1x and podcasts play at 1.25x. Also there are rules in the settings for plugging/unplugging the jack, bluetooth pairing, end of the folder, receiving calls. The UI may be considered a little old by now, but the app is so much powerful. [link] [comments]  |

Where I work I don't have access to wi fi and my cell plan doesn't allow me to really tether to my gear to watch things like netflix or hulu. I have several older android tablets that I would like to mirror my phone to so I can watch shows on a bigger screen and do some writing. Posted: 19 Dec 2019 07:02 AM PST I have a Pixel 3 and want to use Nine to integrate my outlook exchange calendar & email + my gmail calendar & email, so they are all in one place. It sounds like this is the app to make that work. I've installed it and spent an hour turning off every place I see "notification", "sound", etc. related to email The issue now is I am still getting the Nine icon notification pop up every single time I receive an email. I don't want that; I want to manually check my email when I want to. I want NO email notifications. What setting(s) might I be overlooking? Seeing people's likes, who Twitter thinks I want to follow, ads (which I understand), tweets from people I've never heard of. I'm over it. There has to be a better app out there. I've combed through threads and tried other alternatives. Most recently I used Owly, which god bless 'em but there are one too many issues. Save us all. I'm using Albatross for Twitter and I have the settings to not show retweets and I don't really get any on my main timeline but on the trending section I keep seeing the same retweets over and over and over. | Posted: 19 Dec 2019 12:58 AM PST Hello all, I've been looking and can't quite seem to find an app for what I want. Is there any app that works like Playnite on pc but for android? That is a game Library/manager that I can organize all my games and launch one from the same app. Currently I use Glextor but it is sluggish at times and the widget is somewhat mediocre. I've searched myself and can only seem to come up with apps that don't really organize my games as much as though all of them on the screen with no filter and then boost my phone to play which I don't like. I just want a simple manager, like a steam or playnite for Android. So I come here and ask the pros to see and hear opinions. Thank You Edit: I use Nova Launcher and aside from Glextor I use folders with nova which has been my solution for the last few years but definitely want to see if there is something more suited to the specific job I have in mind. I don't know why, but Series Guide, to this day (and sadly many other apps that I use), still doesn't have support for backup using Google's account, so if you switch to a new device or have a factory reset, you can only use the manual backup you have there, or you can use some third party app for backup . Are there other similar apps like it, that offer to find TV shows, movies and the like, to subscribe to new episodes on them, and mark which I've watched, yet also have a proper backup on Google (one that will get restored automatically when switching device or having a factory reset) ? Some on YouTube, some on SoundCloud, some on Spotify, some downloaded. It'd be nice to have a single place to list all the artists I enjoy so I'm unable to permanently forget about an artist or song I like because it gets deleted from whichever platform, hard drive fails, phone gets bricked, etc. [link] [comments]  |
| Any decent LAN sharing file app on android? Posted: 19 Dec 2019 05:19 AM PST I'm looking for an app to access a directory shared on windows desktop. The share is secured with username and password. What I'm looking for is to replace dropbox and I'd like the new app to be somewhat close in terms of uploading and accessing files. I have just checked Network Browser app - I was able to set up the connection successfully, app has okish interface. But there's one critical thing that I'm missing. Being able to upload the file using "share" button on other android apps (this is something that was very useful with Dropbox). I also have tried apps like Asus file manager, but it doesn't properly connect to network share (despite using correct credentials). Amaze file manager had also problems connecting to windows share (it's spinning forever). Personally I'm using total commander for a longer time, and it works fine for IT guy, but my point is that I want to make network accessible and easy to use for other family members. I did not try things like nextcluod, owncloud as AFAICS they require me to set up yet another server, which is something that I should not need having a windows share running already. Free app would be nice, but I don't mind if it would be paid app as long as it's one time pay. Looking for it as a replacement to dropbox, as they added these limits that you can access account only with very limited number of devices, also I'm not feeling comfortable sending stuff to cloud as I'm planning to use it for backups too.
