How to force mobile radio to turn on, on the S10e? Have no mobile signal at all

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 06:53 AM PST

I've been using S10e Snapdragon variant (global HK version) since release and it has been working fine, however recently everytime I switch off the phone or I lose a signal for long periods of time the mobile network radio wont turn on again and I won't have signal at all for both sim trays.

The first time it happened a few months ago, I reseated the SIM and restarted a few times and it suddenly worked.

This time I can't get it to work after it was turned off for the night.

    https://imgur.com/a/2ZHsqVY

    Things I've tried:

    • SIM replacements. All 3 of the same sims I've tried is currently working on my other phone full bars at location.

    • Network reset and soft reboots multiple times

    • Reset APN, Search automatic network selection

    • On off Flight mode

    • Disable Volte and WiFi calling

    • Reseat SIM and have tray out and back in for periods of time

-Note it recognises the SIM cards because APN autofills and it can detect the phone number. Also doesn't say there is No SIM only No Service

    • Power cycle running battery to 0 and charging again

    • Force reboot Voldown and Power

    • Safe mode

    • Latest sw

    • Factory Reset using settings

    • Factory Reset using bootloader

SIM status in settings is IMEI valid but it always says Service State: Radio off

    Need some help please.

At this point do you think flashing rom will help? It could be physical damage in the SIM slot in which I'm out of warranty due to purchasing overseas. (Although how come it worked for a long period of time and then without moving the SIM tray it would stop working suddenly after switching off?)

Picture viewer on galaxy 10.1 tab A

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:31 AM PST

I recently bought a 10.1 Tab A and love it. I also got an SD/USB reader for it. However, when I put the SD card in, I get a notification stating I don't have an app to view the pictures on the card. I've been trying to do some searching and have cone up with no luck. Does anyone have some suggestions? I would like to be able to see them and upload to a photo website. TIA

Anybody noticed the period key (full stop) acting weird in Android 10?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:19 AM PST

I have a Note 10+ on Android 10 and since the update I've noticed the period key acting weird.

Sometimes when you hold down on it it just doesn't show the question mark or the other extra characters.

It's doing this for gboard and Samsung keyboard for me.

    Anybody noticed this?

How do I change my (lock) pattern when I don't know what it is?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 05:10 AM PST

So I always unlock my phone using my fingerprint (I use the Galaxy S8+) when I realised my pattern doesn't work anymore, and I haven't forgotten it. My girlfriend and I use the same pattern. Now I'm afraid I can't enter my phone after having to restart it someday because the first unlock has to be done by drawing the pattern. I've tried entering a wrong pattern dozens times to get to the "Forgot pattern?" notification but that doesn't pop up. What can I do?

    WOW Samsung.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 01:17 PM PST

So we have been samsung users for years. Mainly the home appliances. Dishwasher, fridge, stove, washer, dryer and microwave. All the basics. My wife has had an S8 for over 2 years and she really likes it. As for myself, I have been a primarily iPhone user and have owned a few android phones as well. I did own a note 8 a few years back but sold it for an iPhone. Fast forward to 2019 and I found myself buying a samsung galaxy watch. Great device. So the only natural next move would be to get a new Samsung phone. After much debate and reading reviews ,till they drove me crazy, I decided on the note 10 plus. Now I have to say that I've owned the phone for a few weeks. It is an amazing device. So fast not just with the basics but file transferring has been unbelievable. We have had very good success with your products. The only issue now is I feel compelled to buy the buds next. Thanks Samsung. 🤣🤣🤣

Phone keeps turning off by itself after moisture detected.

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:49 PM PST

Woke up with my phone in a small puddle after spilling some in the middle of the night. After around 2 hours I was able to plug in my charger without the moisture detected alert. However, after a minute or so my phone turns off while charging, I thought it was my charger cause it also got wet, but I left my phone on the table unused for 5 minutes and it turned off by itself. Is there anything I could do? My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A8 Star.

    Charge optimisation app?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 07:53 AM PST

I was doing research into fast charging and learnt that apple phones have a system that recognizes charging patterns and holds the phone at 80% overnight and lets it charge up fully ready for you waking up.this supposedly extends the life of your battery. Is there a setting or app that does the same thing for Samsung's?

Can't turn on my Samsung S6, power button not working, any ideas?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 07:13 AM PST

    Hi,

My power button seems to be stuck and even when it wasn't stuck, it didn't work. At the moment one half of it is slanted in-wards, whilst the other is out like normal, if that makes sense.

The problem with this is even when the phone was turned on, the power button didn't work and the button was out like normal, so I know this issue isn't related to that.

Overnight last night my phone died and I am unable to turn it back on. I have tried the following:

    1. Letting it charge up in computer USB to see if it turns on by itself.
    2. Entered download mode by holding the Volume Down and Home button, and then plugging into computer USB whilst these are held down. I get a blue screen with a Warning about entering download mode for Custom OS installation, however when I press Volume Down which it says "Cancel (reboot phone)" the phone doesn't reboot, it just turns back off and goes back to the battery power with a % of what it's at.

How else can I turn on my phone? I need it desperately. I just need to turn it on without using the power button as it doesn't work.

    S8 overheat/shutdown issues

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 02:22 AM PST

My S8 (US Snapdragon version) has begun to shut down very frequently. It happens randomly, sometimes while using the phone, sometimes while just charging it.

What happens is that it just shuts down without any warning. A few glitches appear on screen, it gives a single buzz, and I need to turn it on again. However, I am never able to get any longer than the lock screen, and the above repeats. This will happen around 5 times in a row, and only after 10 minutes or so I am able to turn it on again and use it.

I have tried a factory reset. Tried booting up in safe mode. Cleared cache multiple times. Deactivated fingerprint sensor. Nothing works.

I am monitoring my battery temperature and it never gets warmer than 35 C. Though CPU-Z I can tell the sensors sometimes get very hot, around 85 C. I live in Denmark, so it's not due to hot climate.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes or recommendations?

    Posted: 28 Dec 2019 01:54 AM PST

When i first got my buds i wanted to see what features it had in the samsung wearable app and i saw the voice assistant thing and put it on "hold on left earbud". And when i tried it, i had to select a voice assistant so i picked GA over bixby, but now 1 month in using it i'd like to test bixby too and i cannot find a setting to do that.

Tl;tr: i have ga on buds, i want bixby on buds, cant find setting

Samsung Secure folder added maps in there itself?

    Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:10 PM PST

    Hey!

today as the title states, I noticed the Google Maps app was added to the secure folder (without me doing it). Noticed this as the most bottom row, I only had one icon/app on it, now it has two with Maps being one.

Did this happen to anyone else? It's a bit worrisome for me having an app added in the secure folder without me doing it, although at least it's not a random app, but something in the phone already.

I did do two updates yesterday though, if that affects it? Is there a way to check when an app was added to the secure folder?

    Thank you!
