    S10e Mobile data battery drain

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 05:56 AM PST

Hello, I bought the S10e like 3 weeks ago and I treated it like my old A6, data always on because my plan is infinite, bluetooth always on and mobile hotspot on when I need it for my laptop and friends. The problem is, the battery drains much faster than my A6 under the same circumstances and my S10e's screen is usually dimmer than the A6 because I want to save battery. I have to worry so much about the percentage now, I didn't ever think about battery on the A6. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my phone? I have to charge it during lunch cause one day, it even got to 30% from just sharing data, screen off. Wow

I'm kinda mad Samsung abandoned the blurred background in the notifications from the first One UI beta. It looked so good! You can't tell... but I'm crying inside.

Black dot on camera when zooming in on my brand new Note 10. Is this a software issue or is it the camera module itself? Is there anyway to fix it?

My thoughts on the OneUI 2 update for the S10e Exynos (highly positive)

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 06:41 AM PST

Got the update yesterday and here are my thoughts:

    • So damn smooth, especially when multitasking (not quite iPhone 11 level but approaching it!). Phone feels awesome to use
    • DND option to have multiple different schedules (for sleep, work etc) is much appreciated as I was using tasker for this before
    • Quick reply option for WhatsApp directly from notifs much appreciated
    • Ability to use face unlock for Bitwarden is great and works really well
    • They seem to have tweaked the UI to make prompts etc closer to the thumbs so you have to stretch less (great for people with smaller hands or if you have joint pain like me)
    • The permission system is great. I love opening apps I used before and see them having to ask for permission for everything. It's amazing how much data they were harvesting before
    • They've slightly tweaked settings and made it a bit less redundant and more intuitive

I was honestly considering not upgrading because I've noticed major upgrades can slow your phone down (e.g. 8 to 9 slowed down my old phone) and Android already has most of the features I need. But I'm glad I did

What do you guys think about OneUI2?

Samsung Q6FN + Computer over HDMI

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 02:34 AM PST

Hi fellow Samsung QLED TV (2018?) owners,

I have a problem regarding the connection between the Samsung QLED TV Q6FN and my Computer.I can't seem to find out what is happening here, so I just thought this place would be nice to somehow determine the problem here.

My PC: i9, Aorus 2080Ti, + stuff that should not matter, Windows 10 (Education Edition)
My TV: Samsung QLED Q6FN, 2018

    Connected over: HDMI

Background: I want to use and utilize the awesome 120Hz the TV offers. But for that, I need to switch the TV to "Gaming Mode", and then to "FreeSync: Ultimate" and lower the Resolution down to 2560x1440. I can live with that. It's awesome, fun and games.. blabla.

But when I am done for today and switch the TV off, the next day, I need to reproduce the steps everytime.Turn on gaming mode - wait - turn on Freesync and set it to "Ultimate" - wait - turn on gaming mode again (because it disables itself after enabling Freesync).

I think the last part, turning gaming mode on again after enabling freesync, is because the Computer and along with that, also the TV detects a "new" device.

I also noticed, using the tool "Custom Resolution Utility", that the PC detects another device as soon as I enable Freesync.
The PC has two different profiles for my TV.. which is strange.

After all that digging, it might be because how the TV itself acts after it has been shut down.
(also worth to notice, I need to reset everything only, if the TV is off for quite some time.. guess 30 minutes+.
If I switch it off and turn it on again quickly, I do not need to reconfigure the TV to gaming mode, freesync, and gaming mode)

But maybe someone has similar experiences and maybe the same setup and knows a workaround for my issue.

PS: Samsung Customer Support did not help me. They simply either don't understand, suggest me the standard bullshit which I've done numerous times already or just telling me, that I am the one who does something wrong.
