So I can't block it from sending notifications on a browser level like I could have done in chrome, neither can I block the source app from sending notifications, or rather I don't want to since that would block all Google app notifications I don't have any assistant routines at all, or any assistant subscriptions that would send weather updates [link] [comments]  |
| Is there any way to run old windows games ( Fallout) on android that still works in 2019? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:07 AM PST Happy new year everyone! ( in advance) Its 2019. Phones have become so powerful, you can run ps2 games on em... Im trying to play fallout 1 /2 on my oneplus 7 pro. The only 2 options are either Dosbox and limbo. Both are no longer supported ( i think). The problem is that im not a programmer, and i have no experience in dos, and its a confusing fecking mess. I've watched many vids, read guides on how to do it, but none works. Also, guides are confusing as hell. They all just simply and vaguely say " get the game from your pc" But they don't say what file format should i use, and the biggest question: the game should be windows game? or dos? Cuz its 2 different. Anyway i got the dos version downloaded, i put it in my download/fallout folder. I can enter the fallout folder in dosbox using the cd command, but when i type in to run fallout.exe it just say its illegal command. I try dir fallout exe or cd fallout exe, capitalized letters, i rename it in case its too long, but nothing. I can't get this shit to work. Limbo is not supported, its pretty shitty. I tried to run 95 and dos on it, none works. Theres always some glitch or problem... My question is, isn't there a SIMPLE windows/dos emulator i could run? Just like any old emulator like ppsspp or psx? Just select the game and run no stupid coding? Also, ive read on a 2 yr old reddit post ppl recommending exagear, but that is no longer available. Also, ppl recommend wine, but that one also doesnt work, because for some reason i cannot get it to recognize my internal storage, and im unable to get into my files to run anything. UPDATE GUYS: So after fucking around with many different codes and versions of the game, i have finally managed to run the game, but still unable to play. I leave the half solution here, and ill get back here once i can fully run the game. So first off, you gotta get the dos version of the game which you can easily google its the first site... Then get the game folder, rename it to something short like fo, put it inside the emulated folder. In my exprience the deeper/ more folder you put the game, the harder to get it to run. So just simply put it to your phone directory. THEN you gotta open dosbox and go to SETTINGS then go to DOSBOX SETTINGS and then scroll down to AUTOEXEC click on it and then select the game folder whatever you named it. This will eliminate the pain in the ass of going inside directories with codes. Once done, restart the app to take effect. Then you gotta type: c: and press enter this will bring into the directory then type: dir this will list all the files and then you can run the exe by typing its name, in this case its called: fallout.exe This is where i got stuck. The dos runs it, but then stops and says failed to locate master.dat file. Which is bullshit because it is right next to fallout.exe, in the same folder. This leads me to think its a problem with the emulator. Im gonna try downloading the magic dosbox app and see if that works better. Will come back. UPDATE once again: I have FINALLY MANAGED TO RUN THE BITCH!!!! I leave this post in case somebody has the same problem. FUCK YOU DOS! The solution is to: Edit the .CFG file. By default it says " master_dat=C:\fallout1\master.dat" Thats BS. edit it to: "master_dat=C:\fallout1\data\master.dat" Then you gotta MOVE THE MASTER.DAT file TO the DATA folder in the fallout folder. Thats it. Then in dos type cd then dir then fallout.exe Done. The game runs. Fuck. Dos. Thanks for everyone who pitched in, happy new years guys. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:55 PM PST While looking at tablets I came up with possibly a great idea or really bad idea. I take a lot of road trips in the summer and do a lot of camping with my camper. On non-family trips when no kids are involved, I like to sit back and watch TV/movies. Unless I sync my device or can get good enough wifi service I can stream services. When I camped in the Outer Banks this past year the campground offered cable TV services with premium channels (crazy, right??). My dad often comes with me when I camp and he prefers TV as well (I don't really care tbh). My space is limited as it's only a pop up camper and I pull it with a Jeep so I'd like to not use a laptop. It does have cable TV hookup so I'm good there. Is there a "working" TV tuner that would work well with Android? I'm thinking about the Tab 6 from Samsung but the last Samsung I bought they stopped updating it (Note 12.2 Pro) [link] [comments]  |
| Can I unlock my phone or factory reset it from ODIN mode? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:12 PM PST I worked myself into quite the pickle. I have an S7 android that was locked with find my device. I was stupid and signed out of the google account that locked it remotely so I can't erase the pin that I forgot on the android. I then tried to force factory reset it. The phone would not let me power it off without entering the passcode that I do not know. What happened is that now I'm in ODIN MODE and it says "Downloading... Do not turn off target". Is it actually downloading something right now? It's been like this for half an hour. Do I have to install software on my PC to get into the settings on my phone? Can I unlock my phone or factory reset it in ODIN mode? I will give you my 250 coins if you can help. I've called T-Mobile, the current carrier (now I'm on att on a separate phone), to no avail to help unlock it, as well as showing up in person. Currently there is no SIM card in the phone. If I can not unlock it myself without the passcode, can a FIXIT type shop help me? Apologies if I have not applied the correct flair. I'm a little clueless. | Google pixel/security code issue Posted: 30 Dec 2019 01:54 PM PST Last night (Dec 29/2019), my uncle's Google Pixel suddenly required a security code to open the phone (he never had a security code before). Has anyone heard of this issue? One other point. He attempted to enter a code in about 5 hours ago (per his telling) and as of now (5 hours later) it appears there is no prompt to enter a code. Out of nowhere, about a week ago both of them just gave up I guess. I've tried resetting app preferences, did nothing. I've tried restarting my phone, nothing. I've tried disabling battery optimization, turning off battery saver, all of the basic stuff. None of it works. As a result, I cannot download any media from the chats or connect WhatsApp to contacts to find people. It's all in individual folders, some of them have well over 1gb, so that'll have to be an priority. I tried to plug in my phone to the laptop by USB, sites like Portal, Sweech, etc. They either stop/don't work, or they don't get every file into my phone. Thank you for all of the recommendations! From what I've noticed, the fonts work system-wide EXCEPT for in Snapchat, and I can't seem to figure out why. Other Android users that I've asked seem confused or say it works for them. Normally this wouldn't be an issue since she doesn't know how to get out of the lock screen. However she recently figured out she can pull down the notification menu and presses everything. I checked the option that allows me to lock network and important settings but I'd like to get rid of being able to pull down the notification menu entirely from the lock screen. I run two android phones, one for personal use the other for business. Restrictions prevent me from combining both so that's not an option. But I regularly set either phone to forward calls to the other for periods of time. It works but sometimes I fail to notice that change and miss calls. I wondered if anyone knew of a way to set up an indicator on the homescreen warning me that the calls are being forwarded? I use tasker, macrodroid and KWGT. | Weird green flickering/glitch/whatever + crash + restart loop Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:33 PM PST Brought a new Krüger&Matz tablet, and I'm getting this (usually during startup, but if I leave it off for a short time, I can get to the main tab) https://i.imgur.com/MP1PtCN.jpg When it does this, it freezes, then restarts, and then the whole thing repeats. I can turn it off luckily. Plus I can get into recovery mode, which is in chinese language. With the help of google translator's camera mode, I run an "automatic test", which seemed fine.
