Disabled Mic but People Still Hear Me Posted: 30 Dec 2019 06:20 PM PST Hi all, Windows 10, HP Omen. I went to device manager and disabled the built-in microphone, but on my Steam voice test or on Xbox Console Companion with a party, I can still hear myself and people can still hear me! Help needed. Thank you. [link] [comments]
My MS Office subscription expired, but I can still use everything? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 06:50 AM PST I had a free subscription through my university, which has now ended. However, I can still use MS Office, it's just that I get a pop-up window that says "Product Deactivated" every time I open a document. After closing the pop-up window, I just get straight back to work. Does a more experienced Windows user have any insight into this? Can I keep on using Office like this forever? Upgrading to windows 10 - Finally... Posted: 30 Dec 2019 11:28 AM PST So I've just found a genuine copy of windows vista ultimate that I purchased for a full price back in the day (I know, I know..... I was one those people). I was just wondering if there is some way for me to use that copy to get myself a genuine copy of windows 10 pro? Do I need to contact Microsoft support? [link] [comments]
How to find out previous edition of Windows 10 that you had installed? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:22 PM PST I recently changed a lot of my hardware and reinstalled Windows 10 on my SSD. Before all this I checked if my account was tied to a digital license and it was, however I do not remember which edition I had. I selected home when reinstalling and now I am being prompted that I do nothave a license, I am guessing because I might have chose the wrong edition for Windows, is there anyway to see which I had if I look in my other drives files? Need Help Recovering Deleted Files Posted: 30 Dec 2019 02:12 PM PST I scanned some important papers and saved in a folder on my desktop with the intention of transferring the folder into the cloud storage software Box. Being on auto-pilot, I just threw it into the recycle bin after I was finished and emptied it (i HATE clutter) without transferring the files. I immediately went pale and have been clambering to recover the folder and need help bad. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]

My Blue Snowball mic won’t work alongside my headset! Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:49 AM PST So, I have a Blue Snowball microphone and a wireless G533 Gaming Headset. And today I discovered that my mic wasn't working, so I fixed it, but after I fixed it my headset stopped working! And then after I fixed the headset, the microphone stopped working. Why is this and how do I fix it? [link] [comments]
Cant access shared folder from second PC Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:24 AM PST I have 2 PC's set up, Desktop-1 and Desktop-2. Each PC has only one user, User-1 and User-2 respectively. I have made a shared folder on Desktop-1 called Share-1 and under the Sharing tab I have added the "Everyone" option at Read only permissions. When I try to access Share-1 from Desktop-2 it says my login credentials are incorrect. If i add User-2 to Desktop-1 I can get access, soon these 2 PC's will be added to a VPN and id rather not have to do this for every user I want to have access. If there another solution? Can I restore a system image to the same drive that the image is on? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:18 AM PST I have 3 hard drives: My old 1TB HDD, a 500G HDD, and a new 1TB SSD. My goal is to have the SSD and the HDD identical so that I can then boot from the SSD and have the same files and programs as before. I don't have a backup drive other than those. I created a system image of the HDD last night that was approx 600GB. Right now it is on the SSD, along with a fresh install of windows. How can I restore from the system image so that it restores to the SSD? Would I have to format the SSD and make a new system image to remove windows from it? I already tried going into the fresh install of windows and restoring a system image, but it said it couldn't find any for that computer - I understand why it says this, but is there a workaround that would not involve making a new system image? It's not that I can't make one, just creating it took several hours that I really don't want to sit through again. Making a new one isn't a dealbreaker, but I'd like to know my options before I do that. Thanks [link] [comments]

Hotkeys for changing active displays? Posted: 30 Dec 2019 04:13 AM PST So I have a triple monitor setup and I also have my TV connected for the times that I want to use it for couch gaming. most of the time I'm not using the TV so I keep it set to disconnected until I want to use it because otherwise I occasionally lose my mouse into the void of the huge screen space if it ends up off to the left, but when I do use it I typically disconnect all other displays in the display menu for simplicity's sake so I don't have to mess with making sure my games launch on the TV instead of my monitor. What I would like to do is get some sort of "profiles" set up, such as one with only my monitors active, one with monitors and my TV active, and one with only my TV active and be able to switch profiles with hotkeys so I don't have to mess with my display menu all the time. I know the Windows key + P shortcut to bring up the projector menu, but it doesn't have the control for specific monitors so far as I can tell. Is there another built in feature to windows or other software that I could utilize for this? [link] [comments] |
