| 7T display seems to have poor dynamic range and shadow detail. Posted: 26 Oct 2019 05:57 PM PDT I'm coming from a Moto G Plus, which although not a flagship, has a very respectable IPS display. Now on my 7T I'm noticing that in dark images I am able to see a lot less shadow detail than on my Moto unless I crank the display to max brightness. But who wants to browse Instagram on max brightness? I'm using SRGB settings and I was hoping this phone would be good for a photographer but now I'm not so sure. The color accuracy seems fine but the dynamic range- especially on contrasting white backgrounds- just doesn't seem to be there. You'll notice in this image that the electricity meters on the right are barely visible while on my 3 year old phone I can see them fine without having to max brightness: https://imgur.com/Zg3B9kD Thoughts? | Posted: 26 Oct 2019 05:13 AM PDT My 3T and every other phone I've ever had would display a single colored LED to indicate to me if I had a notification, or if the phone was actively charging. I could glance at the phone while it's sitting on a desk with the screen off and tell if I had a notification waiting for me, or if it was charging or fully charged. Now the 7T seems to have this "ambient display". I like it, but when the phone is sitting on the desk, there is no indication whatsoever if I have a notification waiting, or if the phone is charging. The entire screen/phone is just black. I have to interact with the phone to check that. Am I missing something? [link] [comments]  |
| 7T Blotching and Green Tint (Photos) Posted: 26 Oct 2019 07:07 PM PDT I finally got good pictures of the issues. I've noticed the issues around the brightnesses below. The best way I've found to see the blotching is to go under a subreddit and click search, then use the back gesture to get rid of the keyboard. Then adjust the brightness from the notification drawer. As you adjust it slowly, you can see the blotching shifting around the screen. I couldn't get it on video. It's slightly annoying, but OnePlus says it won't cause any problems. I don't want to get a new device to chance it having this issue too. Earlier today, I attempted to call someone and they hung up after stating that they were unable to understand what I was saying. I tested it out myself and it turns out my voice is totally unintelligible. It's more of a short metallic "chhhhh." Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix? Thanks! J [link] [comments]  |

Its not stable. On android 9 it was perfect and i know its a beta but still very annoiying as hell when playing games online it loses connections and sometimes its connected but slow internet before on android 9 no problems at all. | Looking for assistance, phone no longer boots after attempting update Posted: 26 Oct 2019 05:21 PM PDT Hello all. I have a 7 Pro, unlocked and bought directly from OnePlus. My phone is rooted. I was looking to upgrade to Android 10, and I did not get it offered over the air, so I attempted to update with OxygenUpdater. I'm not sure what went wrong, but the phone no longer boots into the OS, it only goes into Fastboot. It gives me the choices of booting into recovery, restarting the bootloader, or just regular start, but all three do the same thing of just bringing me back into fastboot. I'm even trying to force it to boot into recovery with ADB, but get the following when doing fastboot boot (image file) regardless which twrp file I try. Anyone have any suggestions? | Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:42 AM PDT Just wanted to spread the word along. I purchased a OnePlus 7T Pro from eBay here in the United States. The seller was from Texas and it cost $799. Overnight shipping was cheap. By the looks of the box, the unit is straight from China. However it defaulted to United States and English in set up. I popped my Verizon sim out of my OnePlus 7 Pro, and it worked right away with zero issues. VoLTE works. Native voicemail app works, etc. It literally has all of Verizon's LTE bands. Then after a day, it started saying 'Connected, no internet.' I have turned my phone on and off, have reset the network settings, have unplugged the router, and have forgotten the WiFi connection then reconnected. I know it's not the router because the internet is working perfectly with my laptop. I've scrounged around online and can't find any solution that works. It's such bullshit that it does this. I really like the gestures that I'm using right now, and I love the fact that I don't have a navigation bar at the bottom of my screen. Is it possible to keep using the exact same gestures in Android 10 that I'm using right now, and disable the navigation bar? Also, what do they mean by "brand new ui system", what else changes? | Posted: 26 Oct 2019 02:20 PM PDT I've had the 7T for 48 hours, switched over from the 5T. I opted for the 7T over the 7 Pro because of the flat screen and I prefer the teardrop to the pop up camera. Using Nova Launcher on both. CONS -Battery life: noticeably worse than on the 5T, which was running Android Pie with the October security patch -Fingerprint sensor: the in-screen sensor is really inconsistent and it often defaults to face recognition due to failed attempts. When it does work, it takes longer than the hardware one on the 5T. It also has to light up really bright to work, making unlocking the phone in bed at night kinda lame (yeah, yeah...first-world problem). And obviously the face recognition doesn't work in low light when the sensor fails so I have to type in my PIN. -Phone calls: On half the calls I've been on, my face has pressed numbers on the dial pad or muted the call. Am I holding it wrong? Didn't have this problem with the 5T. -Notifications: I sadly didn't check before purchase but I seriously miss the notification light. I don't like having my phone on alert so I am constantly tapping the screen to see if I'd received texts. -Pull-down menu: I frequently check notifications and things from the pull-down menu. I had the 5T fingerprint sensor set to allow me to use my index to check it, which I obviously can't do on the 7T PROS -Screen: Obviously. But this isn't a huge pro for me because even though I DO notice a difference, it's not a huge selling point. -Other obvious things like speed from the better processor, camera, etc. I'm gonna give it a few more days before I return it, but I'm missing the conveniences of the 5T more than the upgrades of the 7T. | Update: Just got my 7T replacement Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:04 AM PDT In reference to the post i had put last week about average SoT i was getting on my OP 7T, I visited the service center with my device. Told them the issue, mainly the sticky stuff coming off the edges (it turned out to be the display adhesive). They were kind enough to let me know they'll try their best for a replacement, although they can't guarantee one. I also made sure to write to them via email. 2 days and a string of calls and email exchanges later, they agreed to replace my device. They also gave me a pair of diyas (earthen lamps) on the occasion of Diwali ! Feels great to be a part of this community ! [link] [comments]  |

| OP7P Ghost / Phantom Touch Returns Android 10 Posted: 26 Oct 2019 08:27 AM PDT In the latest Android 10 update for the Oneplus 7 Pro I've noticed the Ghost / Phantom Touch issue has made a comeback. It's not as bad as before, and doesn't show with CPU-Z going crazy like originally. But I'm witnessing it multiple times a day particularly when using Facebook Messenger. I'll be typing down at the bottom and my phone will start opening other chat heads or begin calling the user for example - elements of the UI which are right at the top of the screen and therefore impossible for me to hit accidentally whilst typing. | Android 10 beta: notification shade color? Posted: 26 Oct 2019 02:58 PM PDT I can't seem to get my notification shade the way I had it before the recent upgrade. I want the notification shade white but the Colorful tone also has all other settings white but the pull down settings. The Lite tone, has everything white. The dark tone wouldn't be too bad but the dark of the shade doesn't match the dark everywhere else. It's pitch black while the other colors are a dark grey Anyone else notice this? After checking the battery usage stats it appeared the stock OP Messages app was draining an insane amount of battery. Not sure if this was an issue with my phone specifically or all 7t but after disabling it my battery stats have gone through the roof... Over 90 minutes of screen on time with only 12% battery used versus 2.5 hours screen on for 50% prior. [link] [comments]  |
