Can't decide between these 144hz monitors. Posted: 01 Oct 2019 12:33 PM PDT Hello guys! Could you help me to choose which one of these is best for CSGO? Acer XFA240, AOC G2460PF, Acer GN246HL, LG 24GM77, ASUS VG248QE They are used ones tho, local gaming center is getting closed and they are selling them, i would appreciate if you could help me choosing one from them. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Can't connect to router wirelessly Posted: 01 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT Hi guys, I just moved to Germany to study here for the year. I am staying in student accommodation and the caretaker is a grumpy old man who will only deal with problems between 8:00 and 9:00. I have class at this time so I obviously can't go then. I can't connect any of my devices to the router wirelessly. I have my laptop plugged directly into the router so I have internet on it but not on my phone or my tablet. It's a Thomson router (Model THG571). Each room has their own router and there are hundreds of rooms in the building. I don't know how to identify which is mine in my Wifi settings. Also I don't know what the password is. There are three numbers on the bottom of the router. A SN number, a CM MAC number and a MTA Mac number. Is it any of these? Sorry for the stupid question, I'm not a very tech savvy person. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Oct 2019 01:32 AM PDT Hi guys, thanks in advance. I am on the road to privatizing and securing my online presence to the best that I can and I have Simple DNSCrypt installed as suggested on the PiracyToolsIO, but there really isn't any usage instructions. I checked for DNS leaks after install and I had 5 servers reporting my IP and ISP, so I then changed my DNS servers to the AdGuard servers from the suggested list here (https://www.privacytools.io/providers/dns/) in network settings and now it's just reporting a single server from Choopa, LLC. Which is good, but I'm just confused on the functionality of Simple DNSCrypt. Should I have had to manually change those servers addresses, or I am just not understanding how to use Simple DNSCrypt? My drives are a mess, how do I go about fixing this? Posted: 30 Sep 2019 09:26 PM PDT Tl;dr: I want my SSD to actually be used in booting up if it isn't already and I want to convert disk 0 to the main drive instead of disk 3. I want to be able to unplug disk 3 and have disk 0 treat it like nothing happened. Also what does "boot," "page file," and "crash dump" mean in disk manager? Google is no help. A bit of background:Alright so here's what my disk manager looks like. I built this computer a few years ago before I understood computers and a couple of years later I realized my drives were just kinda wonky but just accepted it. I've got 1 TB unallocated on my main drive (disk 3) because it was set to MBR instead of GPT. I also have no idea what the hell is going on with my SSD in terms of my OS. I honestly just found out today that my OS was even on it, I thought I accidentally installed it on my HDD, but it was so long ago, I can't remember. I recently got an 8 TB HDD (disk 0) and while setting it up, I decided to try to fix everything. I have about 5.5 TB of stuff on my computer. The majority of that is 4k footage (I'd say probably around 3.5-4 TB) split between all of disk 1 and disk 2 and a bit of disk 3. I also have about 0.5 TB of photos from doing photography and 0.5 TB of games and gaming related stuff on disk 3. The rest is miscellaneous stuff on disk 3. Currently, everything on disk 2 and disk 3 has been moved to disk 0 (I cloned disk 3 to disk 0 and I just moved my folders over from disk 2 to disk 0, so the OS is still on disk 2). Disk 1 is relatively new, so I don't need to do anything with it. What I'm wanting to do:I was considering trying to make my 500 GB SSD (disk 2) the main drive, but since my games would basically fill the thing up completely. I don't want to worry about space so I'd rather make disk 0 the main drive. However, I'd still like to get the benefit of booting up quickly with the SSD. From my understanding, since disk 2 says "system" under "system reserved," then it has the OS, correct? Again, I built this thing when I knew nothing about computers. I honestly don't know/don't think I installed my OS correctly and just was kinda like "I've got an SSD that automatically makes it good now." However, boot, page file, and crash dump are all under disk 3 (my current main drive). I honestly don't know what any of those terms mean in terms of disk management or how to move them and google has not been helpful. All I know is that I want my SSD to actually be used in booting up if it isn't already and I want to convert disk 0 to the main drive instead of disk 3. Disk 3 is about 4 years old and I'm worried about it eventually dying on me, so I figured I should move everything off of it now and make this new drive the main drive and just use disk 3 as unnecessary storage. How do I go about doing that? [link] [comments] |
