4 Quick Tl;Dr Android Game Reviews / Recommendations (Episode 125) Posted: 25 Oct 2019 07:40 AM PDT It's Friday! And that means I'm back to once again share a few Android game recommendations based on the games I've played this week :) This week, covering a fun arcade action game with fun ragdoll physics, a relaxing simulation idle game about penguins, a strategy RPG based on the Saint Seiya anime franchise, and a brand new DIGIMON gacha RPG by Bandai Namco. Disagree with my opinion? Let's have a friendly discussion below. New to these posts? Check out the first one from 125 weeks ago here. The games are "ranked" somewhat subjectively from best to worst, so take the ranking for what it is. Here be the games:Gun Guys [Game Size: 147 MB] (free)Genre: Arcade / Action / Puzzle - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Little tl;dr review: Gun Guys is a fun arcade'ish action game that mixes the gameplay of "Mr. Bullet" with the funky art-style and ragdoll physics of a "Playgendary" game. Placed at a stationary position in each platform-designed level, our goal is to take out all opponents with as few bullets as possible. Oftentimes, we have to avoid civilians as well, and utilize the fact that bullets bounce off of walls to complete the levels with 3-stars. There are only 2 types of characters and weapons, and we don't get to pick which to use for each level, although I expect more to be added in the future. This, and the short 1-2 hours of gameplay are the game's only, and minor, downsides. Monetization happens through ads, which can be removed through a single $2 iAP, as well as other iAPs to acquire more gold instantly, which can only be used to unlock character and weapon skins. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Penguin Isle [Game Size: 151 MB] (free)Genre: Idle / Simlation / Relaxing - Offline Playable Orientation: Portrait Required Attention: Idle tl;dr review: Penguin Isle is a relaxing offline idle game about building a peaceful habitat for our growing penguin colony. We automatically earn the currencies needed to upgrade our island and produce more penguins over time, which in turn increases the speed at which the currencies are produced. Progression is relatively slow, and you quickly get to a point where you have to either just wait (it is an idle game after all), watch an advertisement for some free currency rewards, or buy some through iAPs, which is how the game monetizes. In comparison to an idle game like "Ulala Idle Adventure", there really isn't a whole lot to do in Penguin Isle. In many ways, Penguin Isle is more of a traditional idle game. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here Saint Seiya Awakening: Knights of the Zodiac [Total Game Size: 2.92 GB] (free)Genre: RPG / Strategy / Turn-based / Anime - Requires Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Some tl;dr review: Saint Seiya Awakening: Knights of the Zodiac is a team-based strategy gacha RPG based on the 80s Saint Seiya anime-series with a ton of gameplay content and a beautiful art-style. What I find most interesting about this game is its combat system, where each hero has a normal attack and 2-3 special abilities that cost mana to cast. Mana is shared across heroes and regenerates after all our heroes have attacked, which adds a neat tactical layer to picking which hero(es) gets to use a special attack each round. Between combat, we upgrade our saints, level them up, and increase their skill's levels, which makes them stronger - just like in most gacha RPGs. Monetization happens through the gacha system that rewards us new heroes, as well as through a decently generous energy system that limits some of the gameplay modes. This does make PvP, where we fight other player's heroes controlled by an AI, heavily Pay-to-Win, but the singleplayer content can still be enjoyed as a free player. Google Play: Here YouTube First Impressions / Review: Here DIGIMON ReArise [Total Game Size: 682 MB] (free)Genre: RPG / Strategy / Turn-based - Requires Online Access Orientation: Landscape Required Attention: Some tl;dr review: DIGIMON ReArise is a gacha RPG by Bandai Namco, with a combat system that lands somewhere in-between action-based and turn-based, which I found rather confusing. The UI is cluttered and confusing and while the gameplay ticks all the boxes of what a gacha RPG should include, it fails to impress in any meaningful way. There's also a ton of daily login rewards, missions, achievements etc., which I guess is the game's attempt at diverting our attention away from the lackluster combat system and stale gameplay. Monetization happens through a very aggressive energy system, as well iAPs to unlock more Digimon immediately through the gacha system. Needless to say, I can't recommend playing DIGIMON ReArise! Consider yourselves warned. Looking for a good arcade racer like Burnout. Posted: 25 Oct 2019 03:19 PM PDT I've been playing a lot of Burnout recently and I've been wanting a mobile game that's similar. A lot of the racers I have tried on mobile are pretty underwhelming, so I hope someone knows about any good ones I should play! [link] [comments]

Shadow Warrior: Take Away Edition (Mobile, 2007) Emulated on Android Posted: 25 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT The late 90's was a fantastic time for the FPS genre, and 3D Realms were a huge part of that. Who knew that Shadow Warrior hit feature phones ten years after the original release? https://queuetimes.com/classic-mobile-game-spotlight-shadow-warrior-take-away-edition/ [link] [comments]

The devs of Archero doesn't even try to hide that the advertisement of their app is a lie Posted: 25 Oct 2019 02:21 PM PDT In the advertisement you could actually see the Wimdows cursor moving the character on the screen, no fake controls and fingers anymore, just a reminder that the footage was made on a personal computer, and not a mobile device. You could always sink lower in the mobile game marketing [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Oct 2019 02:52 AM PDT Hi Guys n Gals, I'd wondering if anyone could help me. I downloaded the GPS game on the android store called "Scoutside" . Its basically a game where you find resources as you travel round the real world map via your phone with GPS on. I was wondering if there was an app that fakes moving so the phone thinks I'm walking down the road. The reason I ask is that I'm disabled and housebound so obviously can't go out for a walk to find the resources etc. We have an app that auto clicks for you so I was wondering if anyone knows of an app that would aid me. Many thanks... NitroUK [link] [comments] |
