    Hi I'm a student,16 starting IB soon and I need a laptop I've narrowed it down to an xps13 and I've found 2 offers for around the same price I could either go with A) XPS 13 9360 i7 8550u 16gb ram and 512 GB SSD 1080p non touch B) XPS 13 9360 i7 8550u 8gb ram and 216gb SSD 4k touch display

    I think a touch would prove very useful with school as dell offers a active pen which would help taking notes

    Anyone ever buy a 14" laptop and regret not getting a bigger one?

    I'm looking at getting a new laptop and have to choose between a 14 and 15 inch size. I will be using it for web development and coding as well as casual web browsing. I have never used a 14 inch before and I worry that if I get one, the screen won't be big enough or the smaller size will make it uncomfortable to use. Has anyone ever bought a 14 inch laptop and wished you had gone with a 15 inch, or is it pretty easy to adjust to the smaller size?

    Hi! I'm looking into getting a new laptop, but have difficulty deciding which of these to get:

    Asus X543UA: - Celeron N4000 Processor - 8GB RAM -256GB SSD storage - R4499

    Lenovo IdeaPad 130: - Core i3 6006U (2GHz, 3MB Cache) - Intel HD 520 - 4GB RAM - 1TB HDD - R5999

    Dell Inspiron 3581: - Core i3 7020U - Intel UHD 620 - 4GB RAM - 1TB HDD - R6999

    I'm a student, doing document editing and light gaming like Minecraft Bedrock, RCT, and Project Hospital. Which one is the best value for money? The cheaper acceptable laptop is the best, because I can't spend more than R6999... I live in South Africa, thus the Prices is R (ZAR)... Thanks

    Laptop for engineering student

    Hello everyone,

    I am looking for a new laptop and I hope you can help me out.

    These would be the ideal specs:

    GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 (dedicated)

    Intel core i7 (9th gen would be ideal, but 8th or 7th is fine too)

    Min. 512 GB SSD

    16 GB RAM, but 32 GB would be awesome.

    My budget is €1500, but I am a student, so a cheaper laptop would be nice.

    I just ordered a certified refurbished thinkpad from Amazon and struggling to get it to turn on. I'm new to thinkpads, do I just press the power button and it turns on? I've had it on the charger for 30 minutes and still no luck. I hope I don't need to return it..

    Laptops with the best screens?

    Aside from the Apple Macbooks, which laptops have great screens? Colors, angles, reading, etc. I have seen a trend where OEMs cheap out on screens, so want to see the outliers. The cheaper, the better.

    Im currently using this dell Inspiron 15 with windows 8.1. The screen resolution is set to 3840x2160. The display is good. But Im facing problem with font size being too small while using different software. Is there any way to make the fonts larger without reducing the screen resolution?

    Hi,

    I'm looking to buy a laptop to use for high school and my own personal stuff, but I'm having trouble finding any that fit my criteria:

    1. First and foremost I'm looking for something light and small. I have a long commute to school and I need something that isn't too taxing on my back, and I also don't want any of those Alienware-looking laptops with fancy designs and RGB LED-keys (a normal backlit keyboard is fine for me). I guess the cap would be at around 5 pounds. I prefer sleek and quiet over bulky and flamboyant gaming laptops.
    2. Long-ish battery life: Need this to get through long school days, 8 hours should be the minimum TBH.
    3. I also need something powerful enough to run my sneaker bots, which from what I know use up a lot of RAM. I also barely play video games, however I bought a couple to play with my friends (Just Cause 3 and R6 Siege), so it would be awfully nice if the laptop had a dedicated graphics card that was at the bare minimum to play those games at an acceptable rate (medium to high settings I guess).

    In terms of price, I live in Canada so the prices here on electronics are a bit more expensive so I'm looking at $1.1k CAD as my budget - however: I can also look at laptops at around $1.1k USD (I'd just buy them secondhand).

    EDIT: I also have lots of experience disassembling my old laptops and replacing parts such as the RAM and storage, so it isn't really a concern if the laptop has less ram than I need or an HDD instead of an SSD - I can easily switch 'em out.

    I'm starting a Master in university and wanted to buy a simple laptop just to take notes in lectures, browse and watch some videos. I kind of bought a laptop impulsively on AliExpress, £170 (laptop/table 2in1 + keyboard + pen).
