Windows 10 update error, troubleshooting doesn't work... Posted: 08 Aug 2019 03:39 PM PDT I've been trying to update Windows 10, but I keep getting the same update error even after I use the troubleshooter. It begins to download, but then abruptly stops and shows this error message: 2019-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4507435) - Error 0x800703f1 Any type of information or help is appreciated. I think it has something to do with my Windows Update files being corrupted, but I'm not exactly sure how to resolve that kind of issue as of now. [link] [comments]

[Windows 10] Is it possible to "share" scheduled tasks? Posted: 08 Aug 2019 12:16 PM PDT A coworker and I need to both be able to access a series of scheduled tasks on the same pc, but each from our own windows accounts. Is this possible? We both need to be able to run them on demand. If not, is there an easy way to "port" a series of scheduled tasks and associated settings from one account to another? EDIT: Thanks to advice received, we will create tasks using NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM instead of individual user. For future people who might be looking for this answer here is how to do that:

License to Windows for high schooler/college student Posted: 08 Aug 2019 03:55 PM PDT My kids have migrated their disks from Dell pcs to self-built pcs. I didn't know that Windows on the disk was only good when in the Dell pc. So windows now complains when booting it in the self-built pcs. Are their special programs to get a valid license for these situations, also considering they are in high school or just staring college? [link] [comments]
HELP - File explorer takes forever to load Posted: 08 Aug 2019 03:18 PM PDT Hi, I've been having this problem for a few days now. Whenever I open file explorer to save or open something with a browser (in this case, Chrome), it takes a long time to load. While it's loading, if I click it, it says that it's not responding. When I open file explorer by itself as a regular program, it opens just fine, but whenever I open or save a file from chrome, it takes forever. Any help? Thank you. [link] [comments]
Windows 10 Runs like crap in Virtualbox Posted: 08 Aug 2019 07:01 PM PDT My computer has an i5-7500k and 12GB DDR4 RAM. It's no supercomputer, but it should be able to run a VM of Windows 10. But I wouldn't be making this post if it did. It's worth noting that my host machine is Ubuntu. If I allocate a lot of RAM and video memory to the VM, it crashes my host machine to the point where I have to reset it. The most I can get away with is allocating like 4GB of RAM and 60MB video memory, and 2 processor cores, which leaves the VM unusably slow. I can't get past the install phase. It takes forever and I get stuck at a permanent "Getting Ready" loading screen after the installation and right before the initial setup. Is anyone else having these problems? If so how do I fix it? Some keys on the keyboard stopped working suddenly Posted: 08 Aug 2019 10:24 AM PDT I was running some projects on visual studio and the next time I boot up I notice my down and right arrow along with back slash keys have stopped working all of a sudden. My laptop doesn't recognize those buttons as inputs any longer. I can assure you it wasn't any hardware issue that caused it. I'm furious and in look out for a solution. Loading Windows externally to local machine ? Posted: 08 Aug 2019 05:48 AM PDT Is it possible to store your installed version of Windows on a an external or Thumb drive which I can load on another computer whether it has Windows already installed or not. And any thing which I save on the booted version of Windows has the option of saving to the thumb drive or external drive obviously depending on if it has the storage space, or simple to the computer which I'm working on ? No system sounds when trimming video? Posted: 08 Aug 2019 12:17 PM PDT I just saved a clip from my desktop, and there was no audio, and when i viewed it in videos, I saw two options in audio- system sounds-aac- 2 channel and microphone-aac- 2 channel, so when I changed it to system sounds-aac- 2 channel I could hear it. When I trimmed the video, I couldn't hear the audio so I went to do the same thing, only this time it just said AAC- 2 channel. So I cant hear the audio. [link] [comments]

Energy service crashes Windows 10 Posted: 08 Aug 2019 04:47 AM PDT So yeah, just like it says in the title: if the "Energy" service is active at boot, the computer will freeze at the login screen. It doesn't make any sense, but I'll give you some details: I'm gonna try to reinstall all the drivers now just in case and try to reactivate it. I guess I can live without it, but having the CPU pegged at 4.5Ghz even when idling doesn't seem like the best thing to do. Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help me out. Windows To Go can't see other computers on network... Posted: 08 Aug 2019 05:39 AM PDT Running windows to go on my mac, and have all the correct drivers installed and updated. Currently connected to the same network as other devices behind the internal firewall. I reset network setting, then made sure services such as DNS, Function Discovery Provider Host, SSDP 1.1, and UPnP are all enabled and running. Also made sure under sharing that private network is set, and that my computer is set to discover and be discovered. Only thing extra I am running is Norton, which I disabled the smart firewall to be safe. After all these steps, it still will not find the other drives and computers on the network. Transferring Software from a laptop to another Posted: 08 Aug 2019 04:48 AM PDT Hi Community! I have recently purchased an almost brand new Thinkpad T480 with a clean Windows 10 PRO install, I also have a Lenovo Yoga that was my daily driver. I have a lot of important software on it that I would like to transfer to my new laptop but I don't know if copying files will have the result I am looking for. Do you have any solutions to be able to transfer licensed software without any loss of parameters or licences? Thanks in advance to the ones that will give me some or their time! Something that doesn't use adapter Posted: 08 Aug 2019 02:16 AM PDT So, I'm trying to get a VPN to run but I literally can't use any of them because windows refuses to install any kind of network adapter on my PC, is there any VPN that doesn't rely on using adapter or some kind of Fix for it? And before somebody says I should go look up the error on Google, I did and most of the Solutions regarding the Tap 9 adapter didn't work for me and I rather not reinstall my whole OS for that, know that a fresh install might won't even fix it. Realtek Audio Console jack dectection issue Posted: 07 Aug 2019 09:17 PM PDT Hi, I have a problem where my laptop won't detect my headphones whenever I take them out unless I go to the Realtek Audio Console and switch "Enable Jack Detection when device is plugged in" from off to on, and back off again. It doesn't detect my headphones when it is on, and it is extremely annoying to constantly have to got to the audio setting just to use headphones. How do I get rid of this issue? [link] [comments] |
