BIOS recognises SSD but laptop wont boot it Posted: 18 Aug 2019 12:42 AM PDT Just recently my laptop restarted itself and no longer boots from my SSD and instead boots through my HDD. I've had the laptop for half a year and haven't made any changes recently that could have caused this. In the BIOS menu the SSD has boot priority but that seems to make no difference. I removed the HDD and now I can only boot to the BIOS menu, despite the SSD still showing up and having boot priority. I can still access all the files on the SSD after launching on the hdd. The hdd came from an older laptop where it was the main drive and I didn't clean everything off it, and the ssd came with the laptop. Sorry for any confusion and happy to provide any more details if needed. [link] [comments] |
