What version of Android has impressed you the most? Why/how did it do so?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2019 06:56 PM PDT

Previously asked about Chromium flags that improved your personal experience and got quite a range of answers ranging from Chrome purists to this with a lot of experimental features enabled they suited them. Chrome is a universal browser though, and I'm not curious what your favourite android skin or version is and why?

Personally, as much flak as it gets, I love me some MIUI 10. Yes, it does require some tweaking out of the box, but I honestly find that enjoyable for setting up a phone and one of the key points of Android, doing what you want with it. I'm also not going to complain about the battery management, as a 4000mAh battery can do me at minimum 9.5 hours SoT with full sync and GPS enabled, as well as having a more stock looking UI now and system wife dark mode. Close second is the amazing One UI. Was so close to buying an A70 or a second hand S9+ with a new battery after seeing the difference compared to TouchWiz. Really enjoy the changes. How about you though? What phone do you have and with what version/skin as your personal most reliable and best day to day, and most enjoyed?

[Discussion/Update/Mod] - Partial AMOLED mode Achieved on Discord APP (v9.3.3)

    Posted: 10 Aug 2019 09:52 PM PDT

    spoiler📷

    Hey Folks,

I have finally achieved a non-root solution for AMOLED Discord Theme on Android.

This is based off the solution provided by u/POPstationinacan

I have implemented this. Though it is a bit clunky as of now. The Panel with Servers and Channels is not completely black. I will work towards a fix on it.

    But here are some screenshots

    Sincerely,
x The Power That Be x

[DISCUSSION] Does anyone else feel that the idea of a waterfall display or all curved display is not only an eyesore but also impractical and unecessary?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2019 03:31 PM PDT

Been hearing a lot about a new generation of devices coming out with a curved display that goes all the way to the base of the phone. Oppo is releasing one this year with the "waterfall" display. I believe these phones are pretty gross to look at, but also the idea of this makes cases a nightmare. Accidental touches might as well be considered intentional touches because you know that they're going to happen consistently on these displays. And i cant imagine how you'd hold the phone or put a screen protector on it. These phones will probably crack from any fall.

I understand innovation and all, but I don't see these displays being practical.
